  1. Running Rocky Linux 9.4 for the KVM host
  2.
  3. Network Interface
  4. ens192 = Slave of cloudbr0 bridge. Untagged VLAN for management.
  5. ens224 = Slave of cloudbr1 bridge. Tagged VLANs for public and guest networks.
  6.
  7. You can refer to the steps that I used to configure a KVM compute node below:
  8.
  9. Install CloudStack agent.
  10.
  11. ```bash
  12. tmux
  13. dnf -y install -y epel-release cloudstack-agent
  14. ```
  15.
  16. ```bash
  17. systemctl mask libvirtd.socket libvirtd-ro.socket libvirtd-admin.socket libvirtd-tls.socket libvirtd-tcp.socket
  18.
  19. nano /etc/sysconfig/libvirtd
  20. --------------------------------------------------------
  21. LIBVIRTD_ARGS="--listen"
  22. --------------------------------------------------------
  23. ```
  24.
  25. In order to allow QEMU VNC to listen to ANY address, you must configure the /etc/libvirt/qemu.conf file.
  26.
  27. ```bash
  28.
  29. nano /etc/libvirt/qemu.conf
  30. --------------------------------------------------------
  31. vnc_listen=0.0.0.0
  32. --------------------------------------------------------
  33. ```
  34.
  35. Restart libvirt
  36.
  37. ```bash
  38. systemctl enable libvirtd
  39. systemctl restart libvirtd
  40. systemctl status libvirtd
  41. ```
  42.
  43. Configure CPU model for KVM guest
  44.
  45. ```bash
  46. nano /etc/cloudstack/agent/agent.properties
  47. --------------------------------------------------------
  48. guest.cpu.mode=host-model
  49. --------------------------------------------------------
  50. ```
  51.
  52. Reboot the machine first for good measure before adding to the cluster.
  53.
  54. ```bash
  55. reboot now
  56. ```
