It funds the priorities of the Wizarding public: high quality, readily-accessible healthcare; the ability for Hogwarts School to ensure every child receives a superb education; providing resources to reduce and combat crime and make people safe. It also gives Ministry departments and the devolved administrations the financial certainty needed to focus their plans for the coming year moving into the electoral period.

The Spending Round takes a responsible approach to increasing spending. It targets additional money on the people's priorities of healthcare, education and tackling crime. As ever, prioritising means making choices, which means that some departments may face cuts to their budget, but there will be allowances and grants made for each department to retain the ability to apply for extra funding where they may need it.

As well as this, the Spending Round introduces a new area of the Ministry's budget: the Small Business Subsidary, a programme which allows for small business owners, many of whom are self-employed, to apply for a Ministry grant in order to aid the development of their livelihood. Encouraging independence and enterpeneurship are important aims of the Ministry for Magic and we hope that the Small Business Subsidary reflects that.[/div][/div][/div][/div][/div]
