156.
Sardonic and aloof, Lucius is the youngest son of the noble House Velane. Known for their mastery of the grand political game, House Velane also has a history of sporadically producing mages of prodigious talent. Lucius is the most recent of these.

 157.

 158.
However, despite his family's attempts to do what they have always done with these talented mages, Lucius did not let them hide him away with some crotchety old university mentor at one of their many other homes. He rebelled, in his own way. When his family attempted to move him like a mere pawn in a game of Chess, they were outmaneuvered so completely that it quickly became obvious Lucius was playing an entirely different game from everyone else.

 159.

 160.
However, despite his innate magical talent, insatiable thirst for knowledge, and mastery of the noble game, Lucius was still a son, a youngest son at that. With the limited - but still impressive, considering - power he could gather in his position, it was only a matter of time until he was dealt with, cast away by his family, all but disowned and sent off on a boat where he could study, train, and above all else not meddle in the affairs of his House.

 161.

 162.
Little did they known that they had given Lucius exactly what he wanted. Now, free from the shackles that are his family, Lucius can roam free, forging connections and building strength of his own, discovering the greatest arcane secrets the world has to offer. One day, he will return home, as a greater, more experienced man than House Velane has ever known.

 163.

 164.
But until then, he will learn, nurture his power, and, perhaps, allow himself to have some fun along the way.

 165.
- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -

 166.
A magical prodigy, Lucius possesses a rare natural aptitude for magic. He was born a powerful mage, and only grew stronger as he aged. When he was three, his threw his first fireball and destroyed a wooden table. When he was five, he summoned his first imp. When he was ten, he had surpassed his dull university mentor and was still hungry for me.

 167.

 168.
Only making this natural talent more fearsome is Lucius' insatiable thirst for knowledge. He will spend hours and hours, perhaps even days on end, flicking through tome after tome in search of new things to learn. He learns incredibly quickly. However, despite learning quickly, Lucius refuses to be teached. He is, with good reason, convinced of his superiority, and thus teaching him anything is nigh-impossible.

 169.

 170.
Perhaps it is merely a coincidence, but it has often amused Lucius how the magical arts he is most attuned to are extremely useful for interfering in the noble House politics he was thrust into. While he is talented in most areas, illusory magic and summoning magic are his specialty. He is a natural mage, but also a natural manipulator, who knows how to twist the minds of his foes to see what he wants them to see, and how to bend the will of powerful creatures to his whim.

 171.

 172.
While he is somewhat rusty, Lucius is trained with a sword, to an about-average level. He is still a noble, of course, and treats himself like one. Hardly a physical powerhouse, but fit and healthy. His clothing is padded for some slight resistance to light amounts of damage, and his cloak is excellently made and very resistant to cold or wet weather.
