  1. The damage formula works like this:
  2.
  3. - The damage model itself is a modified version of tommykl's Alt-58 system.
  4. - For every race-ending accident or collision that a driver is involved in, an RNG will be rolled depending on the severity of the crash. The categories are as follows:
  5. Category 1: 0-25% the cost of the chassis
  6. 2: 20-45%
  7. 3: 40-65%, 5% of driver injury
  8. 4: 60-85%, 5% chance of a write-off, 10% of driver injury
  9. 5: 80-105%, 10% chance of a write-off, 20% of driver injury
  10. (For reference, the vast majority of accidents will be in the 1-2 range)
  11. - For each mechanical failure caused by an oil leak, water leak or outright engine failure, a similar RNG will be run. The range will be from 0-105, with any value over 100 being considered a total write-off. Any engine that is deemed a write-off will have a residual scrap value of 10% of original value.
  12.
  13. - It costs £2,000,000 to manufacture a chassis.
  14. - The design tiers include the chassis manufacture price (£2,000,000 per chassis) and the leftover money is for the designing of the chassis.
  15. - All works engines come with a free, unlimited repairs and replacement guarantee from the manufacturer.
  16. - If a works team has an oil leak, water leak or an outright engine failure then the manufacturer will repair/replace the engine free of charge.
  17. - Semi-works teams have a limited repairs and replacement guarantee from the manufacturer.
  18. - If a semi-works team has an oil leak, water leak or outright engine failure, then the manufacturer will provide 6 free repairs and 3 free replacements, and if the team exceeds this quota, then they are solely responsible for all future engine repairs and replacements.
  19. - Customer teams have no repairs and replacement guarantee from the manufacturer.
  20. - If a customer team has an oil leak, water leak or outright engine failure, then the team is solely responsible for the repairs or replacement of the engine.
  21. - The cost of a new engine is half of a customer contract's price.
  22.
  23. A new engine of each type costs this much:
  24. Honda RA166E 1.5 V6t - £6,400,000
