  66. Bio: Sharl of Deepforest wasn't technically a runt. If he was, he'd only last a few hours. He was born the 20th child out of 31, and four days later, he was 11th out of 10, having fled his hungry siblings. This was the world he was born into. Though he survived that first week, it wasn't guaranteed in any of the weeks or years to follow. Life in Culri's forest was aggressive and painful. Though Sharl managed to survive primarily by scavenging for corpses (read: stealing food), he was always next on the dinnerplate himself. He lived like this for 11 years.
  67.
  68. One day, while looking for other people's captures/kills, one of the still-living meals called out for help. It was a woman, Linda Osslin, a Druid directly serving Fort Sen who disregarded her guide's warnings to stay out of Deepforest territory in order to get a "first-hand look" at Drider dark magic. Seeing Sharl's scarred chitin, she (again, rather foolishly) offered to help Sharl out of the forest if he freed her. When she told him about the world outside of Culri's forest, he thought about how easily "food" would be to come by, and agreed to free her once they left Deepforest territory. Sharl "stole" Linda to be "eaten", and as he dragged her in her web, she told him how to find the path she had taken into the forest.
  69.
  70. When they entered Fringewood territory, Sharl debated eating her anyways, only for her guide to find them before he had the opportunity. Linda explained to the guide how this spider runt had saved her life, and how they should take it with them to Fort Sen to be rewarded. For the past three years, Sharl has been living in Fort Sen, serving the Shamans in their study of dark magic and learning the ways of Vang life. He's remained aggressive and distant from those around him, however. For most of his life, those more powerful than him were a threat to his live; those less powerful than him were his prey, and he gave them no respect either. He had never known anyone that he could consider his equal. And so the druids at Fort Sen decided to send him on a field trip; one which would hopefully teach him how to interact with both those as powerful as him, and those who were more powerful than the entire nation. Little did they know what would happen on this "field trip"...
