  2. aight finally home
  3. but Monbrey, I honestly think you're one of the most neutral, no-nonsense perspectives in URPG
  4. it's helpful and you always look to do the right thing
  5. from a member opinion standpoint, i think you're held in high regard; I think it was Gray? I think? who mentioned yesterday that you find time to not only do what you need to do, but you also find time to socialize casually with other members and just talk about random stuff in chat

  7. (yeah it was gray)

  9. totally no offense to HKim, but I think HKim is perceived as generally more intimidating/less open since he's (understandably) busy and doesn't talk in general/other places all that often
  10. I hate to use the word because it's a little too extreme for the application, but it kind ofhumanizes you more
  11. well, i guess better phrased is more down to earth/closer to staff/helps make it feel like there's less of a divide between members/staff
  12. maybe not better phrased, idk
  13. 2/3hrs sleep zz
  14. but i guess i'll start typing things up

  25. also i agree with liam that weir's incident wasn't minor and i agree it can't be looked over infraction-wise. and to be completely honest (since it's related, in regards to Seppe's post), i'm almost certain that outside of those first rush of a couple of days after the audit came up, i never defended Weir on it because i was never certain about it. I believe it was a mistake (because I know how both of us can be), but the magnitude of it has always made some small part of me uncertain? sorta? Not even going to lie on that. but that's how I know I've never defended him on it, because I've honestly just avoided the topic other than acknowledging the objective severity of the infraction. why he chose to call out dash and I, who also weren't even staff then, I'm totally uncertain. We're both close to Weir but that's the only thing I can think of
  26. the part on the anonymous feedback about the shirking work isn't accurate at all, i agree. she did work hard and contributed a lot on that perspective. "She was allowed to once again show her favorites yesterday by gifting away Pokemon to her chosen few (privileges not granted to other, less "toxic" members, who were instead banned on shaky reasons)" I can't speak for the part after about snide name changes or anything. But the part of this that resonates with me (that I want to be clear about pre-emptively, not saying anyone has interpreted this yet) isn't that it's saying that she showed her favorites by gifting, but that her preference as a staff favorite was shown by the fact that unlike other members, she had the ability to come back and do so
  27. She had that ability, despite the fact that her and Weir's case aren't very different
  28. I've sat on this a lot. I really have. And it's my opinion that Elysia and Weir's cases are almost identical--the only difference is that a) Elysia was always around in staff to control the conversations around her (and, disconnected but also relevant, against Weir) b) the particular DP/Ralin incident
  29. Other than that, I honestly feel like their cases are identical. Everything that was said about why Weir's behavior was unacceptable were the exact same things that could be applied to Elysia in almost every instance. Elysia was also extremely toxic; she made incredibly snide, uncalled for, salty remarks. Whether or not she was the one who had the initiative to seek out the person to apologize to them after immediately like Weir was is something I'm not sure of. But Nitro saying that apologies don't fix it resonates especially with me in the case of Elysia, who was constantly toxic but only ever got a stern talking to even after repeat after repeat after repeat after repeat offense, but then it was used as a case against Weir to have him banned
  30. Once I got into staff and backread, I also saw that a lot of the times, she unfairly turned the conversations against Weir. I totally can understand that she mistrusted him after the audit incident; that was a huge lapse of trust and suspicion is warranted. That is a totally valid reason to lose trust and be suspicious/skeptical of things

  32. I really dont disagree. I did comment once about what a ridiculous situation it was that here we all were, sitting around, targetting a member with accusations of targetting members
  33. holiday rp goblin | K'sariya - Yesterday at 12:47 PM
  34. yeah, and i really hate to have to point out specifics, but anon report + it's also the largest case example
  35. Dread God | Monbrey - Yesterday at 12:47 PM
  36. I agree that there was a campaign against him and that had a very bittersweet irony to it. Not to say I dont stand by the decision, but I 100% see your point that we should have addressed more too
  37. holiday rp goblin | K'sariya - Yesterday at 12:54 PM
  38. I have examples for the conversation being turned against him, also, if it's needed/wanted, but it's unnecessary right now unless someone wants them. But I know that this isn't something that you can exactly "do" something about since she's left, so that's another reason. because I'm not exactly campaigning for her to be punished or whatever (since she isn't coming back, but the injustice of her being able to if she wanted for what I view as equal offense might change that if she were to come back within the same time period of weir's ban). I agree with Weir's ban since staff did say we want to set that kind of standard, but I simply feel that Elysia should have received the same punishment
  39. If we were recommending punishments on her as we did Weir, I would have said he same as his; 1-2 months. because I truly do believe that the offenses there were equal, excepting the publicity of the dp/ralin incident
  40. And I don't say that out of any spite for elysia the same as I didn't say 1-2 months out of any spite for Weir
  41. But that was what I was wanting to address in the warned and banned thread. The reason why I was so itching to say it was because one of the main repeated points was "The thing about Weir is that he’s very good at apologizing, but that can’t keep making up for the situations he causes in the first place" just reminded me so much of everything Elysia had done, apologized for, and it had never been held against her
  42. holiday rp goblin | K'sariya - Yesterday at 1:02 PM
  43. And since it's there (sorry trying not to put too much but zz), I also want to clarify that I truly hope that something like the chat log between Weir and Ash about how he felt about Elysia is not in any part the basis for the ban/any future bans. He was asked how he felt about a member who he had dislike for, for reasons that I believe are warranted (just as I believe Elysia's reasons to dislike him and to distrust him are also warranted, note) (note 2: not condoning anything he might have said or anything like that). "It's one thing to vent, to air out your frustrations privately so that you're able to be direct from a more resolved mental state, but privatespeak for the sake of privatespeak helps nobody." in that thread just felt like finding a reason out of nothing to incriminate him; he was asked about how he felt personally. Finding out that it was put to staff just made the question feel like total bait, honestly(edited)
  44. the DP/Ralin thing, yes, that's an offense; no matter how he intended it, he did create an environment where he associated participation with onymo with cutting people out, and that's not healthy or right at all(edited)
  45. but I also want to make sure that things like what he said to Ash aren't what he was punished on, because that begins to create an environment like I feel we've reached now
  46. where people now feel like they are having to be very careful about what they say to what people, and how they vent and to
  47. I felt safe at the time of the banned/warned thread in the sense that I felt like URPG would settle, people would heal, and things would return; I felt like since the first time in about a month, things had the chance to shift back to normal again, to the time when I'd laugh and shoot the shit with my old friends who left the same RP site as I did about how I've moved on to a place without drama and how great everything feels
  48. but I also feel like it's difficult to vent to people, or discuss how i feel with people, because of the way that was used as ammo against Weir. i understand there were a lot of personal feelings involved in that but yeah
  49. I think that's all I have
  50. gotta go see star wars soon :eyes: won't bring back spoilers but
  51. that's the gist of it
  52. Dread God | Monbrey - Yesterday at 1:13 PM
  53. I will clarify for you that I did not take that into account when making a decision. I understand why Smiles feels so strongly about it because it was directed at her. But I did my best to remain impartial and not use it as "evidence"
  54. I dont think I was unconciously biased by knowing it either
  55. HKim - Yesterday at 1:54 PM
  56. Well this is fun.
