  1. from /hhg/ - Hazbin Hotel General #342

  3. Right.
  4. We've learned (well, those who have been around learned) from the last Hunnycast stream that Hazbin Hell is made up of the traditional "circles" (we've heard from Stolas that there's a Wrath circle).
  5. We can presume that this the 9 circles version introduced in Dante's Inferno.
  6. However, those weren't exactly based on the 7 Deadly Sins: you had Lust, Gluttony, Greed and Wrath, and Limbo COULD technically count as Sloth, in some way, but the rest - Heresy, Violence, Fraud and Treachery - are unique to Dante, although all are considered sinful acts by the Bible.
  7. Would Hazbin Hell follow model, or would it be just comprised of the 7 Deadly Sins, plus some extra?
  8. Limbo could stay as the outskirts of Hell, and the rest could be replaced by the "Unforgivable" sins:

  11. I think the Hazbin Hell would mostly have a more original setup while also going on the Ars Goetia side of things and using myths and stuff from a variety of sources.

  16. Anyways, we know that Hell has circles from the Helluva previews.
  17. I'm just wondering what the broader set-up is - the idea of Hell being split into circles is mainly found in Inferno, so there's less mythology to rely upon.

  19. It could be that the rings are gently terraced out of the funnel shape that Dante says in Inferno, instead of the sheer fucking insane cliff like in that shitty GoW clone. The Pentagram could be at the center, suspended by chains. Or it could be something closer to DnD in that each is a Demiplane that has an easy connection to the other, and the Pentagram is just the outlying shell that plugs the gaps between.

  21. I would like if it where less literal. Have each ring be a layer of the city expanding out further and further until you reach the outer border of Pentegram "city" to where it gives way to wastes and vast tracts of undeveloped land

  23. Considering that one of the ranks of demon is President, you could also assume that whenever there isn't a raging turf war of autism between the legions there's some ridiculous gerrymandering going on. To the point where 'ring' is actually just a colloquialism nowadays and certain sins are so fragmented there's Lust in Betrayal and what have you.

  25. There also is potentially a class of businessmen that are higher than overlords
  26. Rather than people like Alastor, Vox, Rosie and Valentino, who are relatively one note and derive their status from raw power, you've got defense contractors, arms companies, oil executives, media moguls and bankers.

  28. Pure unabated chaos over a slice of the pie, either by lengthy bureacracy and red tape or violence. Lovely. I wonder what the Pentagram looked like in the early ages before God started goosestepping on the antiquity pantheons. Must have been even more Hellish.

  30. Rosie at best runs an Emporium, Al's basically just fucking about, with his wand doing most of the heavy lifting, Vox is a media mogul, so, while he has influence, he isn't as straight-up powerful as some captains of industry, and Val's a glorified pimp with a movie studio at his disposal - and even that's probably from Vox.
  31. -
  32. It could be that Vox is simply the head of TV for some gargantuan media empire with him being the familiar iconic face for something far more sterile, but vastly more powerful
