Endless Dream

A girl stood on her school's rooftop, watching as a plane took off into the sky. She couldn't help but feel envy for those aboard that plane.
“Why do I have to live in this lame ass city?”
Tina Blatchford was not content with the life she had lived thus far. While she had lived a rather peaceful life up until now, the girl craved something different from the monotonous everyday life.
“Why can't I go out on adventures like those kids on TV shows? It'd be cool, getting taken away and waking up in a strange new place.”
As she started to dawdle in her fantasy, she heard the door behind her slam open.
“There you are!”
Seth Owens stumbled up to her, his breathing heavy.
“Geeze, you should be Waldo's replacement with how tricky you are to find.”
“What do you want Seth?”
“Let me catch my breath first!”
After calming himself, Seth pulled out his notebook from his bad and smacked Tina in the back of the head.
“Ow! What was that for?!”
“Did you forget that today was club sign up day? And did you forget how the dean demanded you join a club this semester to make up for all those tardies on your record?”
“Shit, it was today?!”
Seth huffed,
“Yeah, didn't you notice all the posters plastered all around our halls mentioning it? Or even the announcements during fi—Oh wait, you're never on time for first period, so of course you didn't hear it on the PA.”
“Damnit, is there still time?!”
“Yeah. We better get down there fast if we still want to sign up for something though.”
“We?”
Seth was a member of the swim team for the last three years, from what Tina remembered. So it surprising for him to add himself to the predicament as well.
“Yeah, since this year they had to throw out all the senior members, I have to sign up again like everyone else. I would have done it before coming to look for you, but your stalker wouldn't let me sign up.”
Said stalker was actually the 3rd member of their band of misfits, a foreign transfer student.
“That girl's a lot of trouble for you, isn't she.”
“I only put up with her because of you.”
The half-annoyed look on his face reminded her of a term their friend had called him once.
“...Tsundere...”
“I am not!”
Just then, the 10 minute warning bell went off.
“Crap! I'll bitch about this later, for now we've got to get down to the quad!”
“Gotcha!”
The two students rushed down the stairs, hoping to make it before Tina's life was forefeit.
