- A man sits on the side of a busy town road, cobbled together years ago with the signs of age already taking effect. Years of marching feet and hooves have left it in disrepair. In front of the old cloaked figure, head downcast as if too ashamed to meet the glances of those who walk above him, is a small alms bowl. A beggar. You've seen them in your time in the city, people fallen on hard times or too disabled to take care of themselves, relying on the generosity and pity of others to get by.
- A figure passing by him tosses out a hand of a few copper pieces. The man places his hand into the bowl and feels them, seeming to search the faces of the coins with his finger tips before removing them and placing them into his cloak. As he ruffles through his clothing you're able to make out the face hiding underneath. Bandages cover the eyes, a clear sign of a blind man, yet the face is unmistakably your own. This act is repeated several more times. Someone takes pity, someone gives change, and you see yourself happily pocketing what little others seem to spare.
- A small time more passes before another figure tosses an donation to the man, to you. You see yourself reach down and pick up the offering, realizing slowly that what is in the man's hands are not another gift of coins, but two eye-balls. The you you see before yourself seems confused as he traces over them with his fingers, before a look of knowing slowly covers his face. He reaches underneath his bandages and slips the eyes into the sockets hiding underneath.
- He looks up again, and now you can see your face clearly. Without a doubt that beggar was you, but his eyes no longer match your own. An odd texture lines the iris in such a way that it seems as if it were made of a bed of feathers, and a faint glow seeps from them. Suddenly, a voice moves through your mind, the soothing sweet voice of a mature woman.
- "Golios, awaken. Take your eyes and find that which was lost. Which was taken from me and hidden in your realm. Not lost in the sands of time, but in the tree of life."
- You snap awake. The tent roof stares back down at you. You readjust yourself and go back to sleep. You know you have a long journey ahead of you tomorrow.
