- Sayori walks along an old park from her memories, a place she had visited many times ago but had never seen.
- It was a quaint fountain, dry as her throat.
- The grasses sway to the wind, angled sharply to the side.
- Bits of dust cut into her eye as she walks rig-
- She heads left, to a small and lively cottage with a white picket fence and flimsy multicolored walls.
- It was a colorful bundle of weeds, bright, childish, hardy in spirit but a fragile sight in this immaculate garden.
- As she rides her bike into the hallway, Sayori almost collides with a flurry of four to eight year olds.
- They playfully tease her about the chores she hasn't done.
- Sayori picks one up and tickles her nose into one's tummy.
- "Gotcha silly!"
- Monika stares disapprovingly from the other end of the hallway.
- "You need to help me garden, remember? It was a condition of being adopted."
- Sayori pouts.
- "Aw, you're no fun you meanie!" Sayori complained as the kids tugged on her maroon wool sweater.
- Monika whips out her gardening card.
- A task for seven kids and three dokis to supervise.
- "You said you wanted this card for your collection, remember?"
- "What kind of card game ties in chores?"
- Monika giggled.
- "The Monika Trading Card Game! This is your chance to win a rare Yuri, don't waste it."
- It was hard work, much tugging at weeds while the kids lounged around and tagged.
- But they needed something more than bristly tufts of grass in more dirt than grass.
- Natsuki got the bright idea to become big, big bicycle and shook up the soil with the bike tires.
- "Good work, Natsuki! Have a silver Sayori!"
- "I wanted it!"
- "You need to finish pickling your cucumbers, lady."
- Sunset's crisp clung to Sayori as heavily as her sweaty smelly air.
- "I need to shower, okay?"
- Monika nodded.
- "Alright, but then get dressed because we have to stay a night somewhere else."
- "Where?"
- "Your former parents are still rather upset that you ran away for no number is big enough
- years, and they want you to stay at their place one last night."
- 1
- Somber air. Everyone was showered, everyone was dressed. Very formally, stuffy attire
- got in the way of their bicycles but it was a bit too far to walk.
- Some of the younger kids had to be told to quit texting on their cards
- It was important that they be on their best behavior if they wanted Sister Sayori to stay.
- They turn left
- at the fountain and reach the cold neighboring mansion.
- Two stone faces. Cold ornations gracing the hallway I've seen natural history museums with more life.
- They refuse to speak it's a brutal guilty push off the golden fields.
- Sayori can't speak.
- "How many years have we spent drilling into you to start off with a proper hello?" The woman said.
- Man sneers at children scared shuffling it's the fucking headline.
- "" The man said.
- Second littlest girl begins to cry but quickly hushed by a worried seven-year old.
- "You wasted your life, by the looks of things. We need to talk about the future.
- Do you see this cold blue fish eye above you? It's college. This is what you were destined to be." the woman said.
- "UNGRATEFUL BRAT we've done so much for throws it all away." the man said.
- Was Monika composed? No she was messy and scared. She was Natsuki's quiet shell and Sayori's reeling guilt.
- But Yuri popped a raisin into Monika's mouth with grace and composure and tact.
- "Grown ups do grown up things and a dried wrinkled raisin is the most grown up thing there is."
- Yuri flowed elegantly as a guiding angel, beacon for the huddled masses
- and breaking them free just in time for dinner.
- ?
- It's a wonderful sunny afternoon in the mansion. The kind old lady is busy in the kitchen making a french lunch of
- pickled beets on salad with lemony salmon and spinach.
- Idyllic instagram
- Natsuki is busy setting the table while Sayori timidly helps move the chairs a bit.
- "Mom and pops are gonna need two chairs each." Natsuki said.
- "And make sure that you pick the chair that's half your width so that you can
- earn enough happiness points to survive."
- That set determined tight lips of that girl with a bright pink shirt.
- It was outside of home, she was fenced closed, a stranger giving Sayori the rundown fun down.
- "Dinner's ready!" The woman cheerfully sang, as she prepared her quaint European dishes
- Share on Facebook
- down on by the table. But Sayori forgot to give pops an extra chair! She rushes hurriedly
- "No need." The man holds up his hand. "Let's just have a sane, friendly dinner."
- Sayori had some trouble eating the food. It tasted like it was outside of home.
- "So I hear Sayori wants to become a music major for when she starts middle school?" the man asked.
- "It will be difficult since there's not much support for the program" the woman said.
- "You make sure to study hard since I'm paying good money to send you there" the man said.
- Good money
- Sayori kept choking on her spinach.
- Natsuki was already done (for the week)
- Everyone was done but her.
- So she skipped ahead but she skipped ahead too late.
- It was already 5 in the evening one day later and the elderly couple are simply worried about you.
- "You need to eat your vegetables or else you will never return home." smiled the woman in someone else's home.
- "You need to quit using the computer so much or else you will never return home." puffy cold frown like he was about to yell you to death.
- "You need to study hard and live here until you can return home" the words said
- flying into the Natsuki was busy not being there.
- "Look at well-adjusted, perfect Natsuki. Probably doing
- the science fair project posterboard
- the handwritten two page essay
- the math project on area calculations with an essay rubric
- the lab report
- tests due sometime every other day.
- And budgeting her time effectively so she can get the important things done.
- You're not a Nth grader any more. And you don't have a home."
- So she skipped ahead but she skipped ahead too late.
- ?
- Of course, it was so obvious. All that schoolwork Natsuki did, it was to prevent the apocalypse from happening.
- A burnt desert landscape with raging fires and crumbled buildings. Sayori angrily brushed away her tears.
- "Over there! A man's trapped!" Yuri piloted the helicopter over.
- "MY DAUGHTER I have over 100 reasons to miss!" The man said as Sayori rushed over.
- "I knew you'd come and here's why" and the man proceeded to tell her why.
- I'm sure it was very important but two rats jumped the corner, wearing cyborg helmets with huge pincers attached.
- Yuri quickly lopped off their heads but more came so many more came and the two dokis had to leave that poor man.
- The woman. She has gone crazy from not having seen you or her husband for so long. She sends wave after wave
- of her killer pet rats and it's all Sayori's fault.
- It would be better if she had listened but now Sayori's stuck in a nightmare.
- Don't you know you get stuck in a nightmare if you don't do well in school?
- 2
- Sayori was gone
