This is the story of two best friends Charlie Carbone, a hair stylist in New York and Louis Booker, a down-on-the-luck musician, who both are involved with the local mob family led by Salvatore 'Sal' Maggio. After their first job attempt at delivering stolen televisions to a local warehouse was backfired by brining the heat (the NYPD), Sal, completely upset, gives Charlie and Louis one more chance at redemption. His younger employee, Frankie Lombardo, gives the guys the most important assignment: to fly to Australia and deliver the mob's $50,000 to a Mr. Smith in the exact time. And so begins a cross-content trek of mishaps including: ramming a kangaroo down on the road, flying in a bush airplane and tranquilizing the pilot, walking in the burning desert, and eventually teaming up with a wildlife expert named Jessie to chase down the kangaroo who has the the $50,000 mob money. Can Charlie, Louis, and Jessie survive the heat, get the money, and save the day without getting killed by the mob?
A comedy that follows the misadventures of two friends from Brooklyn who are forced to deliver mob money to Australia. While taking pictures of a kangaroo, one of them places his red jacket on it. When the wild kangaroo bounces off, they realize the mob money is in the jacket and are forced to give chase through the Outback.
I've actually been interestede to see this for over a year now.  I always thought Jerry O'Connel had potential and I thought Anthony Anderson was fun too watch.  Plus, Christopher Walken was going to be in it!  So, I was hyped.  Somewhere during filming or post production it was changed from the more adult themed mobster black comedy, into a Disney kid comedy. Strange. Very strange.  I went to see it anyway and to my surprise, it made me feel like a kid again.  Real fun ride!  With some surprisingly good moral values thrown in.  I loved Jerry and Anthony's best friend chemistry.  This production has made up for Jerry Bruckheimer's crap fests of the last few years.  The only part I still can't stand is of course, the Kangaroo.  It was cute during it's first scene, then it just got old real fast.  And the marketing for this film is for some reason playing only off the kangaroo. Luckily, it only talks in a trippy dream sequence and not the entire movie. THANK GOD! Oh, and I loved Trevor Rabin's musical score.  His music and the soundtrack really made the film move!
This will be very, very brief.<br/><br/>This is a truly, truly awful, pathetic film that has nothing - I mean 100% nothing.<br/><br/>It&#39;s not funny (I lasted 49 minutes before I could take no more), it&#39;s not entertaining, it&#39;s not interesting - IT HAS NOTHING.<br/><br/>Please do not waste your time watching this - nobody can give you that time back (and you will wish they could).<br/><br/>I really don&#39;t understand how makers of a film can sit back , see a finished product like this and think it&#39;s worth putting out there.<br/><br/>btw why does the voting here not allow you to select 0 ? This garbage certainly isn&#39;t worth a 1 !! I can&#39;t be bothered wasting any more of my time writing about this pointless drivel of a mess of a film.
Were it not for the involvement of producer Bruckheimer, who has made billions by conning millions into believing they can't live without his celluloid crack, it's doubtful Kangaroo Jack would even exist. As it stands now, the "movie" barely exists anyway.
