  47. III - DIRECTX AND COMPATIBILITY

  50. RollerCoaster Tycoon2 requires Microsoft DirectX 8.1
  51. drivers installed and correctly functioning on your system.
  52. If you experience difficulty with DirectX 8.1, contact your
  53. sound or video card manufacturers to obtain their latest drivers.

  56. IV - VIDEO CARD CAPABILITY
  57. -------------------------
  58.  
  59. RollerCoaster Tycoon2 must be played on a video
  60. card capable of 640x480 screen resolution at a bit depth
  61. setting of 256 bits. The card and software drivers
  62. must be DirectX 8.1 compatible. If you experience
  63. problems or difficulty with graphics, contact your
  64. card manufacturer for the latest documentation
  65. and drivers.

  69. VI - DISK CAPACITY AND SWAPFILE SPACE
  70. --------------------------------------

  72. Regardless of your RollerCoaster Tycoon2 installation
  73. choice it is mandatory that you have at least 120MB free space
  74. on your hard drive before running the game.
  75. If disk space is low, you may experience crashing and/or
  76. graphics drop outs. For best performance, ensure
  77. that you have at least 120MB free space before
  78. launching RollerCoaster Tycoon2

  88. VIII - KNOWN ISSUES
  89. ------------------------------
  90. The Six Flags tracks cannot be saved or modified. When you view
  91. one you will notice the save icon will not be enabled.
  92.  
  93. If you are experiencing any sound issues, try toggling the
  94. 'Forced Software Buffer Mixing' option on the game's main options window.
  95. This option may relieve sound interference.
  96.  
  97. When creating a scenario and setting the objective to
  98. "Number of Guests" there will also be an automatic objective of
  99. keeping the park rating above a certain number.
  100.  
  101. When creating a scenario and setting the objective to
  102. "# of roller coasters" there will also be an automatic objective
  103. of keeping the excitement value of the coasters above a
  104. certain number.
  105.  
  106. In the scenario "Six Flags Great Adventure" the number
  107. of guests is checked at the end of a day. You may see your
  108. number of guests exceed 3000, and some time pass before the
  109. objective is completed.
  110.  
  111. In the Rainbow Summit scenario, the description of "tall" means
  112. building above the tree line.
  113.  
  114. When demolishing a pre-made ride that includes scenery that scenery will not be removed.
  115.  
  116. In Windows XP there may be a small graphical corruption when viewing the dialog boxes.
  117.  
  118. If you have a previous version of RollerCoaster Tycoon, do not install RCT2 into the same
  119. folder. For best results install RCT2 into the default folder.

  131. This is a legal agreement between the end user ("You") and Infogrames
  132. Interactive, Inc., its parent, affiliates and subsidiaries
  133. (collectively "Infogrames Interactive"). This Agreement is part of a package
  134. (the "Package") that also includes, as applicable, executable files that you
  135. may download, a game cartridge or disc, or a CD-ROM (collectively referred to
  136. herein as the "Software") and certain written materials (the "Documentation").
  137. Any patch, update, upgrade, modification or other enhancement provided by
  138. Infogrames Interactive with respect to the Software or the Documentation, or bonus
  139. game provided by Infogrames Interactive at no extra charge as part of the Package,
  140. shall be included within the meanings of those terms, for the purposes of this Agreement,
  141. except to the extent expressly provided below.

  143. BY DOWNLOADING OR INSTALLING THE SOFTWARE, YOU ACKNOWLEDGE THAT YOU HAVE READ ALL
  144. OF THE TERMS AND CONDITIONS OF THIS AGREEMENT, UNDERSTAND THEM, AND
  145. AGREE TO BE BOUND BY THEM. YOU UNDERSTAND THAT, IF YOU PURCHASED THE
  146. PACKAGE FROM AN AUTHORIZED RESELLER OF INFOGRAMES INTERACTIVE, THAT
  147. RESELLER IS NOT INFOGRAMES INTERACTIVE'S AGENT AND IS NOT AUTHORIZED
  148. TO MAKE ANY REPRESENTATIONS, CONDITIONS OR WARRANTIES, STATUTORY OR OTHERWISE,

  152. If You do not agree to the terms of this Agreement, do not download or
  153. install the Software and promptly return the entire Package to the place
  154. You obtained it for a full refund. If you should have any difficulty in

  157. purchase date shall be presumed to constitute acceptance of the terms and

  201. during or after play, listen to the signals your body is giving you. Stop playing
  202. and consult a doctor. Failure to do so could result in long term injury.

  263. original retail purchase of this copy of the Software that the Software is

  267. by the initial purchaser; and (ii) does not apply to any patch, update, upgrade,

  285. excluded, and provide your Product number. If a return is determined as necessary,
  286. a Return Merchandise Authorization Number (RMA#) will be issued to you. Send your
  287. original CD-ROM disc, game cartridge or disc, or, if applicable, the executable files
  288. that you downloaded, along with the RMA#, a dated proof of purchase, your full name,
  289. address and phone number, to

  300. of the Software. Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion or limitation of relief,
  301. incidental or consequential damages, so the above limitation or exclusion may

  309. SHALL INFOGRAMES INTERACTIVE'S AND ITS LICENSORS' AGGREGATE LIABILITY EXCEED THE
  310. PURCHASE PRICE OF THIS PACKAGE. Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion or
  311. limitation of special, incidental, consequential, indirect or exemplary damages,
  312. or the limitation of liability to specified amounts, so the above limitation or
  313. exclusion may not apply to You.

  315. GENERAL: This Agreement constitutes the entire understanding between Infogrames
  316. Interactive and You with respect to subject matter hereof. Any change to this Agreement
  317. must be in writing, signed by Infogrames Interactive and You. Terms and conditions
  318. as set forth in any purchase order which differ from, conflict with, or are not
  319. included in this Agreement, shall not become part of this Agreement unless specifically
  320. accepted by Infogrames Interactive in writing. You shall be responsible for and shall pay,
  321. and shall reimburse Infogrames Interactive on request if Infogrames Interactive is required
  322. to pay, any sales, use, value added (VAT), consumption or other tax (excluding any tax that
  323. is based on Infogrames Interactive's net income), assessment, duty, tariff, or other fee
  324. or charge of any kind or nature that is levied or imposed by any governmental authority
  325. on the Package.

  327. EXPORT AND IMPORT COMPLIANCE: In the event You export the Software or the Documentation
  328. from the country in which You first received it, You assume the responsibility for
  329. compliance with all applicable export and re-export regulations, as the case may be.
  330.  
  331. GOVERNING LAW; ARBITRATION: This Agreement shall be governed by, and any arbitration
  332. hereunder shall apply, the laws of the State of New York, U.S.A., excluding (a) its
  333. conflicts of laws principles; (b) the United Nations Convention on Contracts for the
  334. International Sale of Goods; (c) the 1974 Convention on the Limitation Period in the
  335.  
  336. International Sale of Goods (the 1974 Convention); and (d) the Protocol amending the 1974
  337. Convention, done at Vienna April 11, 1980.
  338.  
  339. Any dispute, controversy or claim arising out of or relating to this Agreement or to a
  340. breach hereof, including its interpretation, performance or termination, shall be finally
  341. resolved by arbitration. The arbitration shall be conducted by three (3) arbitrators,
  342. one to be appointed by Infogrames Interactive, one to be appointed by You and a third being
  343. nominated by the two arbitrators so selected or, if they cannot agree on a third arbitrator,
  344. by the President of the American Arbitration Association ("AAA"). The arbitration shall be
  345. conducted in English and in accordance with the commercial arbitration rules of the AAA.
  346. The arbitration, including the rendering of the award, shall take place in New York, New York,
  347. and shall be the exclusive forum for resolving such dispute, controversy or claim.
  348. The decision of the arbitrators shall be binding upon the parties hereto, and the expense
  349. of the arbitration (including without limitation the award of attorneys' fees to the prevailing
  350. party) shall be paid as the arbitrators determine. The decision of the arbitrators shall be
  351. executory, and judgment thereon may be entered by any court of competent jurisdiction.

  355. Notwithstanding anything contained in the foregoing Paragraph to the contrary, Infogrames
  356. Interactive shall have the right to institute judicial proceedings against You or anyone
  357. acting by, through or under You, in order to enforce Infogrames Interactive's rights hereunder
  358. through reformation of contract, specific performance, injunction or similar equitable relief.
  359. For the purposes of this Paragraph, both parties submit to the jurisdiction of, and waive any
  360. objection to the venue of, the state and federal courts of the State of New York.
