- As I step into the lobby, I feel the hairs on the back of my neck stand up. I could feel a pair of eyes on me.
- “Whose there?!”
- I turn back and see that some people are giving me weird looks. Most likely because of my sudden outburst.
- “Maybe I'm just tired.”
- I turn back around and--
- “Boo!”
- “Aaaaah!”
- The sudden surprise makes me fall on my ass and sets Anthony off into a fit of laughter.
- “Oh man, I gotcha good! Ahahahaha!”
- “You insolent ass!”
- I throw a kick at his leg, but he just steps away and makes me kick the air instead.
- “Sorry, sorry, it's just...been so damn long since I've seen ya that I couldn't help playin' a lil trick on ya.”
- He held out his hand to me, helping me back up on my feet.
- “There are other ways to greet your friends, Anthony.”
- “Oh, how?”
- “I don't know. I guess a hug?”
- Once I said that, I found myself being squeeze to death in my friend's brawny arms.
- “This a good enough hug for ya?”
- “A-Anthony...y-you're crushing me...!”
- After I tapped out, he immediately let me go. Normally, Anthony is a bit more calm than this. But something is making him act out.
- “Geeze, what's gotten into you?”
- “Uuh, well...”
- I could see a faint blush on his face,
- “I guess I'm just happy ya came. I mean, how many years has it been?”
- “Almost 10 years. Last time we spent time together was after you got kicked out of your house.”
- “True, true.”
- He patted my head, giving me a look over.
- “But man, you've changed a lot. Yer far from bein' that scrawny guy I knew back in high school. I almost didn't recognize ya. Yer actually kinda cute now.”
- I felt my face heat up at his comment.
- “You're not such bad looker yourself now. I never would have though this,” I gently ran a hand against his broad chest, “would come from the greasy faced shorty I knew.”
- “Aww, thanks Tho—Wait. My face wasn't greasy!”
- “Your acne would say otherwise.”
- “That—“
- He thought on it for a moment before fuming silently, defeat written on his face. “C'mon ya smartass, we gotta hit the road.”
