We can see the Puritan's impact on our culture mostly through the idea of work ethics. Puritan's had the idea that one should stay busy and work hard. As a result, future generations also had the characteristic of being hardworking. The original reason for working hard, which was to avoid temptations, was lost somewhere along the way. Aside from work ethics, there is also a degree of optimism that may have been passed along as well. Puritans, believing they were chosen, had the idea that they would end up going to heaven. Of course, it may just be a coincidence, since their idea about equality was fortunately not passed along.
