  1. The mod elections of 2017 are often referenced on /r/SamandTolki, but no one has yet taken the time to try to catalogue them. In early 2017, /u/HaberdasherA modded /u/HazelFlame54 and /u/whitegoose, and expected that to be the end of it. A popular revolt, however, forced Haber to hold an unsuccessful Goose impeachment trial, quickly followed by a mod election with Hazel, Goose, and Sam as the candidates. Only Hazel received a majority "yes" vote, so she became the sole moderator aside from Haber. Just three months later, the same trio were again renominated, resulting in another win for Hazel, another loss for Goose, and--shockingly--a win for Sam. This vote's fallout included Sam [taking Haber up on](https://www.reddit.com/r/SamandTolki/comments/6limj4/so_does_the_sub_have_no_purpose_now/djud0hc/?context=3) a longstanding offer to [close the sub down](https://www.removeddit.com/r/SamandTolki/comments/6lkaki/final_goodbye_thread/), which Haber later [reconsidered](https://www.reddit.com/r/SamandTolki/comments/6lwoxa/one_message_to_sam/djxq8vi/), also [announcing](https://www.reddit.com/r/SamandTolki/comments/6mavzd/the_final_good_bye_post_is_no_longer_stickied/dk08jpn/) that he would no longer be posting negatively about SGDQ2014.
