(10:37:51 PM) ***Blueshift_North follows Dr. Sunstar's directions to get to this person's. . . home? Office? Home office? It's not clear.
(10:40:11 PM) Ikiryo: It turns out to be a small store, advertising magical trinkets. The door is closed.
(10:40:55 PM) ***Blueshift_North checks the name on her directions, before going to open the door slowly.
(10:41:47 PM) Ikiryo: The door is locked. The name says...Yriel.
(10:42:08 PM) ***Blueshift_North knocks gently or rings the doorbell.
(10:45:17 PM) Ikiryo: There is no reply.
(10:53:24 PM) Ikiryo: It takes her some fiddling...and her ice-made lockpick snaps.
(10:54:02 PM) ***Blueshift_North tries the door again.
(10:54:16 PM) Ikiryo: Still locked
(10:55:50 PM) ***Blueshift_North goes to check if there's a fire escape in the back that might make for an easier way in.
(10:56:13 PM) Ikiryo: There is!
(10:57:58 PM) ***Blueshift_North climbs it, and goes to look in the window towards the top.
(10:59:16 PM) Ikiryo: Inside...she spots a woman kneeling on the floor. She has nut-brown skin and bright blonde hair. She's also not moving from the kneeling position.
(11:01:05 PM) ***Blueshift_North makes a snap decision and throws herself through the window, if something happens with the cops, she can figure it out later.
(11:04:30 PM) Ikiryo: She hits the woman...who doesn't move. She's pinned to the ground by a spike of ice so clear it's nearly invisible.
(11:16:55 PM) ***Blueshift_North starts examining the ice, trying to work out when, and how it happened.
(11:18:39 PM) Ikiryo: It seems like it was...a few days ago. Maybe a week.
(11:22:26 PM) ***Blueshift_North messages South [Hey you're in contact with our sisters, were they in Sigil any time in the last week, also is West actually a wizard or does she just dress like that?]  She also calls the Boros angel she knows, if anyone was watching the place, if they haven't already called the cops they will very soon.
(11:23:00 PM) Ikiryo: [West just likes to pretend she's one]
(11:23:41 PM) Blueshift_North: [Okay cool, rules out any of us as suspects in this murder I just found.]
(11:24:13 PM) Ikiryo: [Wait...what?]
(11:24:27 PM) Ikiryo: [From: Neciel - Yes?]
(11:25:42 PM) Blueshift_North: [To South: Long story, fill you in when I get back?] [To: Neciel Hey so I found a dead body, and at a cursory glance it's going to look a lot like I did it but I didn't, and can prove it.]
(11:26:51 PM) Ikiryo: [From: Neciel - That's always a good way to start a day. What did you not do and how do we prove to my bosses that you didn't?]
(11:28:14 PM) Blueshift_North: [Kill a magic shop owner.  The murder weapon is an ice spike, which was generated by magic, which I can't do, and also when I broke the window to get in the person was already dead.  Also I can account for all my time this week.]
(11:29:50 PM) Blueshift_North: She pauses and messages Sunstar. [Hey, so.  I actually have some bad news.  I ah.  Found your friend, and I think she's been murdered.]
(11:33:56 PM) Ikiryo: [From: Sunstar - ...damnation...thank you for finding her]
(11:33:59 PM) ***Blueshift_North blinks.  Wait if this woman could see the future, and knew she couldn't stop her killer, there might be some kind of message here.
(11:34:38 PM) Blueshift_North: [I'm sorry about your friend.  If it helps at all I think I'm going to need to solve, or help solve this murder mystery.]
(11:41:36 PM) Ikiryo: North hears faint crying...
(11:58:06 PM) ***Blueshift_North slowly drifts towards it.  "Hello?" She calls, softly.
(11:58:31 PM) Ikiryo: The crying stops, mostly. Like someone covered up thier own mouth.

(12:04:10 AM) Ikiryo: A floorboard starts to shift slightly.
(12:07:14 AM) ***Blueshift_North very slowly walks towards it.  She puts her hands in the air.  "I really don't know what else to say.  If I can help you I'd like to.  I'm going to sit down on the floor now, and knowing her my kitten is going to appear out of one of my pockets, and I'll just stay here until you feel safe coming out, okay?"
(12:08:35 AM) Ikiryo: A floorboard moves aside...revealing a small girl. She has the same nut-brown skin and blonde hair as the dead woman and looks maybe ten years old.
(12:10:22 AM) Blueshift_North: "Uh.  Hello."  She sends the same message to both Sunstar and the cop-angel [Update there is a small child.]
(12:11:38 AM) Ikiryo: "I-Is he gone?" She sobs. She looks tired and very thirsty.
(12:13:33 AM) Blueshift_North: "As far as I know, and if he's not, I'm pretty fast and okay in a fight, so I can get you out of here.  Who is "he"?"
(12:16:30 AM) Ikiryo: "I...a really pale guy with no shirt. He came to talk to my mum...she hid me beforehand."
(12:19:03 AM) Blueshift_North: "I think I technically am supposed to wait here until the police arrive, so I'm very sorry that we have to stay here.  Is there a different room we can head into that you'd feel more comfortable in, until they do?"
(12:23:07 AM) Ikiryo: She looks over...spotting the woman...and starts crying loudly.
(12:24:43 AM) ***Blueshift_North almost immediately goes to pick her up and carry her out of the room.  [Neciel please help there is a small child who has been hiding in the same room as her mom's dead body and I do not know how to deal with her realizing this.  I am in over my head.]
(12:30:17 AM) Ikiryo: [From: Neciel - Fuck paperwork. I'll be there in five minutes, tops.]

(2:44:06 PM) Blueshift_North: [Thank you.]  She definitely takes the young girl out of the room.
(2:47:03 PM) Ikiryo: The girl clings to her, crying loudly. Fortunetly it appears this place is also a home around the back as well as a store and...seriously? Someone has crucified a teddy bear and evicerated it while it's pinned to a wall.
(2:48:18 PM) ***Blueshift_North goes to yet another room.  She rummages around in her pockets, finally producing a water bottle, and murmuring to herself. "If you're hiding on my person Doppler this would be a great time to surprise me."
(2:51:30 PM) Ikiryo: Said cat pops up out of her hood.
(2:52:07 PM) ***Blueshift_North offers the kitten and the water to the crying child in an attempt to be comforting.
(2:53:04 PM) Ikiryo: She finally finds a non-defiled room after finding the girl's bedroom (Someone has broken the bed in half and torn the heads off all the toys) and the mother's room (All her dresses shredded and a music box shattered). The kitchen at least is un-ruined.
(2:53:30 PM) Ikiryo: The little girl takes the water bottle, drinking fast enough to soon start coughing as she drinks too much too fast.
(2:53:53 PM) ***Blueshift_North gently pats her on the back.
(2:55:01 PM) Ikiryo: She coughs and sobs, the kitten having jumped onto her shoulder and nuzzling against her cheek.
(2:55:56 PM) ***Blueshift_North gently rests a hand on her opposite shoulder, trying to be comforting.
(2:57:31 PM) Ikiryo: "Why?" The little girl sobs.
(2:57:57 PM) Blueshift_North: "I don't know." she whispers.
(3:00:34 PM) Ikiryo: "Why did they hurt my mummy?"
(3:00:58 PM) Blueshift_North: ". . . I don't know yet."
(3:02:35 PM) Ikiryo: She holds onto North tight, crying loudly as the kitten tries to comfort her.

(3:05:24 PM) Ikiryo: It's not long later when a familiar red haired angel arrives...her eyes blazing as she leaves the room with the mother.
(3:05:52 PM) Blueshift_North: "Hi." She says, quietly.  "I didn't know who else to call."
(3:07:17 PM) Ikiryo: Neciel frowns...and pulls both of them into a hug. "You called the right person."
(3:08:34 PM) ***Blueshift_North gets dragged into it.  "So, what's the uh.  What's the thing you'd do here?"
(3:09:38 PM) Ikiryo: "I've got technicians heading over to look at the crime scene. Let's focus on something more important." She puts a hand on the child's shoulder.

(3:12:29 PM) Ikiryo: The little girl has stopped crying, though she looks like she could start up again any moment.
(3:14:25 PM) Blueshift_North: "Is there a place we can take her, that'll be safe?"
(3:15:02 PM) Ikiryo: She nods. "There is a station not far from here."
(3:17:09 PM) ***Blueshift_North nods, seriously.  "Let's go then."
(3:20:14 PM) Ikiryo: The angel nods, leading on as the little girl clings tightly to North.
(3:20:46 PM) ***Blueshift_North wraps an arm around her, comforting.
(3:22:27 PM) Ikiryo: They are led on to a massive white, gold and red building that looks more like a fortress than a police station. Angels fly above it and armed partrols are nearby.
(3:22:48 PM) ***Blueshift_North tries not to look nervous.
(3:26:43 PM) Ikiryo: Neciel offers her a smile as she leads in, waving the guards aside.
(3:27:20 PM) ***Blueshift_North follows her to wherever she's going.
(3:29:14 PM) Ikiryo: She leads into a small, decently comfortable room. "This is technically for detectives..but it works for us."
(3:30:01 PM) Blueshift_North: "Sure.  So. . . what happens now?"
(3:31:21 PM) Ikiryo: Neciel frowns. "I'm...not sure. I'm not a social worker...I'm a warrior."
(3:33:40 PM) ***Blueshift_North gently rests a hand on the girl's hair.  "KInd of the same, but. . . I'm not going to leave her somewhere safe." [And unless I miss my guess whoever did this might come for her too, but I don't know why, yet.]
(3:35:50 PM) Ikiryo: [From: Neciel - Right. Witness protection will be needed]
(3:37:37 PM) Blueshift_North: [Have there been any recent killings, that have a. . . similar victimology? Similar skin-tone, vaguely mystical occupation?]
(3:38:57 PM) Ikiryo: [I'd need to check but I think so?]
(3:40:46 PM) Blueshift_North: [Yeah I think that's going to be A Thing.  They'll probably be coming for me once they realize how I work.  Long. Long story.]  She stays near the young child.  "So. . . what's your name?" She asks, quietly.
(3:48:38 PM) Ikiryo: "Meriel..."
(3:50:05 PM) Blueshift_North: "Alright, Meriel, I'm going to make sure you're going to be okay."
(3:53:34 PM) Ikiryo: "Who are you?"
(3:54:17 PM) Blueshift_North: "Blueshift North.  I'm a space pi- adventurer.  I go out in the universe and help people."
(3:56:09 PM) Ikiryo: "...Mummy said you'd come and help me." She nods, sniffling.
(3:57:00 PM) Blueshift_North: ". . . She di- Right.  Seeing the future."
(4:01:29 PM) Ikiryo: She hugs onto Blueshift tight. "She said family would come to help me..."
(4:05:05 PM) Blueshift_North: "Well. . . I guess that's not wrong."
(4:07:39 PM) Ikiryo: She starts crying again. "...I wish you didn't need to come..."
(4:08:42 PM) Blueshift_North: "I do too."
(4:12:08 PM) Ikiryo: She sobs wordlessly into Blueshift's shirt.
(4:13:47 PM) ***Blueshift_North gently strokes her hair.  [I think part of my genetic code is based on the magical bloodline all these people are a part of.]
(4:14:57 PM) Ikiryo: [Right, that explains the family part...finding her next of kin could be hard.]
(4:16:07 PM) Blueshift_North: [I'm keeping The Serpent off Sigil right now, and with all the people on it I could probably keep her fairly safe, leave it up to law enforcement to find the killer?]
(4:17:55 PM) Ikiryo: [If you want to claim to be her next of kin]
(4:23:05 PM) Blueshift_North: [I think I have to.  I have a responsibility.  I'm. Going to go check something actually, and she shouldn't be seeing it.]  "Okay, so Meriel? I'm going to go out in the hall for a second to figure something out.  Neciel, my friend, the angel and Doppler are going to keep you company, and we can see about getting you on my ship, okay?"
(4:24:21 PM) Ikiryo: She nods. "A-Alright...please come back..."
(4:38:55 PM) Blueshift_North: "I'll be right back."  She steps into the hall, makes a rectangle with her fingers and expands it, forming a pane of ice in-between them, and gazes into it, in an attempt to gaze into the future to find the killer.
(4:51:13 PM) ***Blueshift_North peers through the veil of time at the killer.
(4:52:42 PM) Ikiryo: She spots several unclear flashes...it will take time to assemble it into anything coherant
(4:56:18 PM) ***Blueshift_North sighs.  She melts, the pane and steps back inside.  "I'm back.
(4:57:35 PM) Ikiryo: The little girl is hugging the angel, crying.
(5:00:38 PM) ***Blueshift_North walks over and rests a hand on her shoulder, again.
(5:01:05 PM) Ikiryo: She moves from the angel to Blueshift.
(5:03:32 PM) ***Blueshift_North makes sure to hold her close.
