- (((Kagami Jin, MISSION START)))
- <p>
- Looking down at his high ranking mission scroll, the assignment was not a simple one… In fact, this was where things got complicated so early on. Yes, this mission was a WAR mission, and by attending to such, young Jin would have to be cautious, watching his steps along the way for this one.
- <p>
- “I see, this mission, is to disrupt the enemies flow of supply somehow.. I will do what I can,” he said to himself, taking on the task blessed upon him by the gods of Zexen. He knew that disrupting the supply intake of the enemy wouldn’t be an easy task, for he would have to find a way to find those linked to the crimes of war. So he started out the mission by taking note of the very first clue, the location and uniformity of the threat.
- <p>
- It wouldn’t be a simple walk in the park though, as he would have to maintain a certain disguise. Redesigning his own look, making himself out to be a wandering young boy, seeking refuge in the domain of neighboring lands. His hair was now messy, and his clothes were ripped and bleached by the suns merciless rays of light. He headed out for a journey to the west, his destination unknown but his intentions clear.
- <p>
- Jin traveled through the desert, of course, he would have to use some of his own income to find a means of transportation. Traveling alone was not an option as he knew nothing about the lands he was venturing into, for him this was all a completely new learning experience, one that he would have to watch every step for along the way. “Once I find out where they are getting their supply, I will head for that spot.”
- <p>
- The young soldier was determined, entering uncharted lands, traveling with bandits and people who truly were seeking a home. He had a mix of emotions going through his mind, feeling as though the world could be a better place, if not for the fruits of war. Everyone gained something from violence, even him, and it was not a flow of human nature in which he could stop on his own. So he would comfort the actual refugees around him, passing words of poetry to try and soothe the minds of those wandering.
- <p>
- But not all those who were wandering is lost, for Jin knew of the bandits he paid to travel with… He has paid someone, yes he paid very particular people to travel with. Taking the risk of traveling with bandits all for the purpose of gathering intel on the enemy and where they are getting their main source of supply. “So, it’s from an underground rail-road type system huh?” Jin thought to himself, listening to the bandits speak of a few rumors at a pit stop…
- <p>
- It angered him, knowing that he would have to rely on the bandits for a while longer. Just until he could gain confidence in this source to deem it reliable, Jin knew that there had to be a way, to establish probable cause. His eyes focused on the bandits, wherever they went, whenever Jin was directed to follow the other refugees… That was until he found out one major thing, a large issue indeed.
- <p>
- Such news had caught him off guard, as they made a sudden stop, “What is this?” Jin asked himself before everyone. Literally everyone of the refugees along with himself, were ordered to leave the chariot and pick up a working tool of their choosing… The refugees with them had children, and those children would be forced to work as well… This location, deep in the mountains, Jin had found a mining field, “So this is where they get their ore… By forcing innocent lives to conduct hard labor… This is slavery,” he thought to himself, glaring at the bandits around him.
- <p>
- He glared even more so at the man holding a whip, but for now, he would have to endure this pain. Jin wouldn’t want to blow his cover, but he could not lose his scrolls he had brought with him, so it was a good thing that the bandit guards saw him as nothing more than a petty traveler, and his scrolls as nothing more than useless notes… His initial plan was a success, but in the roughness way possible.
- <p>
- Just then, without warning, Jin felt the very crack of a whip slide upwards upon his back, “Gek!” He grunts in pain, the young teen falling to his knees out of shock… He didn’t expect this, but in order to complete this B ranking mission, he would have to endure it for now. Kagami Jin’s eyes were set upon one thing, the headquarters of the mines, their directors, the people in charge of the trade routes and gathering slaves for their projects of profit.
- <p>
- He then witnessed an innocent refugee woman being whipped, the guard shouted about how useless and frail she was. Jin was not pleased by this, and he couldn’t turn a blind eye, so he did what he believed was right, even if it costed him, this was a double gamble. He ran up to the guard, pushing him down to fall on his own ass, and Jin knew what was coming next, a hard beating and probably a change of position, to place him in the deeper sections of the mines.
- <p>
- And so it happened, another pain he would have to endure, but at least, his plan was falling into place. “I will get these people free, I just need to place the traps… In areas where the innocent won’t be harmed,” Jin said to himself, hugging his scrolls tightly, glaring at the rocky walls around him. For each passing hour, as he walked throughout the caves he was ordered to work, he would mark a certain spot on the wall…These spots were not only where he would place his explosives deep within, but also the more weaker sections of the mines.
- <p>
- He wanted the entire place to come crumbling down, and for this to be possible, Jin waited until nightfall, where his abilities were strongest… Being locked up within his cell with a few other slaves and refugees, Jin waited for everyone to fall asleep, peeking out of the bars, purposely trying to piss off the guard.. His cell would be struck with a steel rod, one used to tame and shock cows… The guard laughed as Jin received his punishment.
- <p>
- But little did he know, this was nothing but a parlor trick on Jin’s part, as the guard would soon realize, his movements were now restricted… The guard tried to shout out for help, alerting the rest of the minds that a shinobi or a ghost was in the mines… But Jin went and shushed the man, whispering, “Shhh… A Silent Howl Of The Night,” he spoke in a poetic way, forcing the guard to open the cell for him. And almost immediately after, Jin would use his control over the man to force the guard to stab himself in the chest, it was messy, nothing clean, and loud waking up the other prisoners…
- <p>
- Jin used this as a cover-up, taking advantage of a dead man’s silence, declaring it as a suicide, one he himself had witnessed. “I didn’t know he’d quit his job in such a dishonorable way, he just struck himself with the knife without warning,” Jin proclaims. But now, with access to the keys, he would go to unlock the cells, instructing the other slaves to leave, but silently as possible, to avoid the mines. Many listened, while some were forced to leave, those some, were people who were fearful of the guards, luckily, the brave walked them through it.
- <p>
- As for Jin, the young soldier would dive deep into the mines, making sure to take his scrolls. Utilizing his fuuinjutsu to summon the explosive tags he had stored away, he amassed about two hundred of them, all purchased from the blacksmith shop in his village at his own expense… “This should do… Tonight, the castle falls, and the spirits of the innocent shall rise,” Jin spoke in a poetic fashion. While he made sure each tag was placed, the young teen had to maintain his stealth, not wanting to risk conflict as it may trace back to his own village.
- <p>
- Once the final tag was placed, young Jin ran from the site, sliding down the steep slope of the hills into the forest where he can watch the explosions from afar. His eyes were focused on one thing mainly, the watch towers and the headquarters of the sleeping bandits and their guards. “This is the end for you, this is, Poetic Justice,” said Jin as he performed a single hand sign, triggering each of the explosive tags. The entire mountain lit up in a light that would appear and show for a few minutes, debris flying all over the field, the caves crumbling within, the bandits more than likely murdered under the destructive force of Jin’s carefully placed tags… This young soldiers mission, was finally complete.
- <p>
- “Poetic Justice, in a sense of which, the bandits downfall was their reckless behavior… This is just the start, but I will be the shadow under the sun of our High Lord, a shadow that will help end this war…” Jin turns away, tossing a hood over his head, only to return back home to the settlement of Zexen, his eyes filled with a flame of determination, sing his wits to complete this B ranking mission, not having to enter conflict, but assassinating a group of bandits and disrupting the enemies war supply nonetheless.
- (((MISSION END)))
