- [22:50] <Strategist14> ==== BEGIN ====
- [22:50] <Strategist14> You are wandering the desert in search of things to kill, when you come across a pair of imps. They seem to be in a fairly aggressive mood
- [22:50] <Strategist14> Roll initiative
- [22:50] <Roland> 10
- [22:51] <Strategist14> The imps, apparently finding difficulty traversing the sandy landscape, provide you the opportunity to take action before they can
- [22:51] <Strategist14> Your turn.
- [22:52] <Roland> Let's start with my feat. I'm gonna roll an insight check against them, and if I pass it, I get advantage on my first attack against them.
- [22:52] <Roland> 17
- [22:53] <Strategist14> ((What's the DC?))
- [22:53] <Strategist14> ((Or is it opposed Insight?))
- [22:53] <Roland> ((I believe so))
- [22:53] <Roland> ((Vampsquirrel made it, so he can correct me if I'm wrong))
- [22:54] <Strategist14> Either way, a 17 beats the opposed roll, and presumably also whatever DC this could have been. You succeed.
- [22:54] <Roland> Alright. Multistrike one on both imps.
- [22:54] <Roland> Strat, uh, you're not gonna believe this, but, uh, I critted both of 'em.
- [22:55] <Strategist14> Welp
- [22:55] <Strategist14> Aright
- [22:55] <Strategist14> Roll damage
- [22:55] <Roland> 12 and 8, respectively
- [22:55] <Strategist14> Both imps are blown away in a storm of lead
- [22:56] <Roland> Good grief, I'm sorry man.
- [22:56] <Strategist14> They have been instantly obliterated
- [22:56] <Roland> Let's get after another.
- [22:56] <Roland> "Huh. Looks like this new revolver might serve me well, after all."
- [22:57] <Strategist14> ((Having looked at it, doesn't 1d10 go over the 1d6/1d8 psion limits?))
- [22:57] <Roland> ((Procyon gave it to me. Should I reduce the damage?))
- [22:58] <Strategist14> ((Nah, if it's DM approved. Just checking))
- [22:58] <Roland> ((Man, there is so much sketchy shit with Roland.))
- [22:58] <Strategist14> From the ash of their instant corpses, a much larger creature emerges
- [22:59] <Roland> What is it? The suspense is killing me.
- [22:59] <Strategist14> Roll initiative once more
- [22:59] <Roland> 19+3=22
- [23:00] <Strategist14> You get the drop on it as well
- [23:00] <Roland> Let's just shoot it.
- [23:00] <Roland> 8+3=11 tohit
- [23:00] <Strategist14> A success
- [23:00] <Roland> Really? Damn.
- [23:00] <Roland> 10+3 damage
- [23:01] <Strategist14> It snarls, then gets to the revenge-smashing
- [23:01] <Roland> "Oh boy..."
- [23:01] <Strategist14> 12 vs AC: 7 damage
- [23:02] <Roland> AC is 13
- [23:02] <Strategist14> The behemoth misses you entirely
- [23:02] <Roland> "See? This is why I pump points into dex."
- [23:02] <Strategist14> Probably slipped on one of the corpses
- [23:02] <Roland> "Arooooo, motherfucker!"
- [23:02] <Strategist14> Your turn
- [23:03] <Roland> Let's assume I move out of disadvantage range and then use flurry 1
- [23:03] <Roland> 17 and 13 tohit
- [23:03] <Strategist14> Both direct hits
- [23:03] <Roland> ((I only add dex mod to damage from flurry once, right?))
- [23:03] <Strategist14> It would seem an angry mountain is hard to dodge
- [23:04] <Strategist14> ((I believe so, yes))
- [23:04] <Roland> 14 damage
- [23:04] <Strategist14> Another roar, another frenzied attempt to squash you under its massive bulk
- [23:04] <Strategist14> 15 hits, so 7 damage
- [23:05] <Roland> "Oof! Git off me you freak!"
- [23:05] <Strategist14> The ogre refrains from gitting off you
- [23:05] <Strategist14> Your turn
- [23:05] <Roland> Is this like a grapple?
- [23:05] <Roland> Or can I just wiggle out from under him and move like normal?
- [23:05] <Strategist14> That second thing
- [23:06] <Strategist14> MM just flavours it as a crush
- [23:06] <Roland> Oh, well then let's do that till we're 10 feet away and shoot the louse again.
- [23:06] <Roland> No, absolutely not. I am not critting another attack roll.
- [23:06] <Roland> 5+3 is 8
- [23:06] <Strategist14> Close enough!
- [23:07] <Roland> 8+3 is 11 damage.
- [23:07] <Strategist14> You succeed in shooting in the vague 90 degree angle required to hit a ton of flesh
- [23:07] <Roland> "HAH! SERVES YOU RIGHT, SONNY."
- [23:07] <Strategist14> The ton of flesh turns into a ton of grist
- [23:08] <Roland> Roland lights a cigarette. "Oh baby, a triple! Oh yeah!"
- [23:08] <Strategist14> Unfortunately
- [23:08] <Strategist14> It would seem that this is the sort of giant gristbeast that has friends
- [23:09] <Strategist14> One identical to it, as well as one of the smaller targets
- [23:09] <Roland> Roland puts it out, then stows it behind his ear. Too early to enjoy the sweet taste of utter victory yet!
- [23:09] <Strategist14> Roll initiative
- [23:10] <Roland> 15+3
- [23:10] <Strategist14> And somehow, you once again get the first shot
- [23:10] <Strategist14> These guys suck at attacking fast
- [23:10] <Roland> Look, Roland is *sorry,* okay? He takes pride in his grubslinger's speed!
- [23:10] <Roland> Multistrike 1 on both of them.
- [23:10] <Strategist14> ((I rolled 3 and 5. This ain't your fault))
- [23:11] <Roland> 6 and 17 respectively
- [23:11] <Strategist14> The smaller one takes a bullet in the face
- [23:11] <Strategist14> The larger fails to get hit
- [23:11] <Roland> Roland is terribly embarrassed at this! He's a HUGE target! How could he miss?!
- [23:12] <Roland> 5 damage on the small fry.
- [23:12] <Strategist14> The obvious conclusion is to blame the ogre for failing to get shot
- [23:12] <Strategist14> They move in to get their counterattacks in
- [23:12] <Roland> Of course, of course! It all makes perfect sense! Lousy ogre! Roland will simply pretend that he didn't miss, but the ogre is an insensitive jerk who refused to take damage.
- [23:12] <Strategist14> Imp hits for 1 damage, Ogre hits for 6
- [23:13] <Roland> Very good. I'll record it.
- [23:13] <Strategist14> Both are really being quite inconsiderate about this whole thing
- [23:13] <Strategist14> Your turn
- [23:13] <Roland> With 27 HP left, you are becoming quite frustrated. You step back and shoot at the imp for sport.
- [23:14] <Roland> Shoulda shot the ogre; that was a crit.
- [23:14] <Roland> I'm gonna have to take a picture of this roll history for you, cause it's fuckin' jerkers.
- [23:14] <Roland> 12 damage.
- [23:14] <Strategist14> Imp Not-a-pal is thoroughly exploded
- [23:14] <Strategist14> Like, man dude
- [23:14] <Strategist14> Calm down
- [23:14] <Roland> You smell the sweet grist, and taste the aromatic HP.
- [23:14] <Strategist14> Killing him would be one thing
- [23:15] <Strategist14> But you just turned the guy into a pink mist
- [23:15] <Strategist14> Which then turned into phat lewtz
- [23:15] <Strategist14> So that's nice
- [23:15] <Strategist14> His friend seems rather less than pleased with this development, and punches you in the face some more
- [23:15] <Roland> I'll have to reload next turn, so I stare at the ogre and attempt to intimidate him.
- [23:16] <Strategist14> ((Whoops, sorry. Roll Intimidate))
- [23:16] <Roland> 11 to intimidate him
- [23:16] <Roland> "Y'all is smelly and stupid, and should rethink your life choices." Roland says, semi-confidently.
- [23:16] <Strategist14> Ogre begins to regret the events leading him to this moment
- [23:17] <Roland> Roland mutters something about how he can't believe that worked, and ends his turn.
- [23:17] <Strategist14> He decides the logical next step would be to punch you in the face
- [23:17] <Strategist14> ...
- [23:17] <Strategist14> And rolls a 2
- [23:17] <Strategist14> Your turn
- [23:17] <Roland> "Yes, this is indeed a logical step."
- [23:17] <Roland> Roland steps to the side a bit, because backpedaling gets boring after a bit. He then turns and fires.
- [23:18] <Roland> No, wait, have to reload.
- [23:18] <Roland> Nevermind! Roland reloads, then slaps his ass enticingly. "Come and get it, big boy."
- [23:18] <Roland> Rolling to intimidate with weirdness.
- [23:19] <Roland> 15
- [23:19] <Strategist14> I am so glad that you said Intimidate
- [23:19] <Strategist14> The ogre is looking quite relieved as well
- [23:19] <Strategist14> If still fairly confused by this whole thing
- [23:19] <Roland> hahaha, what was his resist?
- [23:19] <Strategist14> 10
- [23:19] <Strategist14> You succeeded
- [23:19] <Strategist14> He's... quite concerned
- [23:19] <Roland> Roland is quite pleased with himself.
- [23:20] <Strategist14> And decides the obvious solution, as with all other problems, is to tap dat
- [23:20] <Strategist14> With his fist
- [23:20] <Strategist14> 13 damage
- [23:21] <Strategist14> ((Fun with critting))
- [23:21] <Strategist14> Your turn
- [23:21] <Roland> Roland takes the damage like a champ.
- [23:21] <Roland> Although he's not looking so hot, he'll soldier on. He makes some space to aim, then uses flurry 2 on the big oaf.
- [23:21] <Roland> 7, 17, 10
- [23:22] <Strategist14> Two hits
- [23:22] <Strategist14> The third gives him a slight haircut though
- [23:22] <Roland> 19 damage.
- [23:22] <Roland> no, wait, 16
- [23:22] <Strategist14> If any barbers survived the apocalypse, you feel they would be proud of that
- [23:23] <Strategist14> Close shave
- [23:23] <Strategist14> The ogre, having just come up with what it is sure is a hilarious joke, figures the logical conclusion is to keep on hitting you through the pain
- [23:23] <Strategist14> 6 damage
- [23:24] <Roland> 8 HP remaining.
- [23:24] <Roland> Roland is, uh, maybe getting a little unnerved.
- [23:24] <Strategist14> The ogre is looking fairly run down as well, though you think it could still handle more damage than you can at this point
- [23:24] <Strategist14> It may be in your best interest to flee at this point
- [23:25] <Strategist14> Though another flurry like that should be able to remove the danger as well
- [23:26] <Roland> Roland shoots again, flurry 1
- [23:26] <Roland> 21 and 11 tohit
- [23:26] <Strategist14> Both succeed. Things are not looking good for this guy
- [23:27] <Roland> ((That's not actually mathematically possible. Gimme a sec to recalc the tohit.))
- [23:27] <Roland> 18 and 7
- [23:27] <Strategist14> They still both hit
- [23:27] <Roland> 17 damage
- [23:28] <Strategist14> The ogre collapses into another bundle of multichromatic polyhedrons
- [23:28] <Roland> Roland gasps for a few seconds, and casts heals.
- [23:28] <Roland> he regains 2 HP, and cries a little.
- [23:28] <Strategist14> You succeed at crying
- [23:29] <Strategist14> Obtain a total of 70 XP
- [23:29] <Roland> "Of course I do! Cryin' oughter be a free action, if'n you ask me!"
- [23:31] <Strategist14> Altogether, you are granted 144 Build grist, 50 T1, and 8 T2 grist
