  1. Watermere is essentially at the meeting point of dwarf, halfling, and human regions. As such it started out as a trading station, where peddlers set up stands to sell their wares to the wide variety of people passing through. Eventually people began putting down roots there and it became a permanent settlement that has grown into the large town it is today. There are a little over 7k people living here, with a slim majority being human.

  3. Since you all have spent time here, you'll be familiar with a lot of the townies. Depending on how long you've lived here you probably even visually recognize everyone (meaning a visitor would stand out like a sore thumb to you). You are also low-level celebrities here with essentially a fan club.

  5. There are a lot of cloth & leather-workers in town, there are 18 taverns -- 2 have attached inns, and there are 3 other inns without taverns (I have names and proprietors for all of them, so if you want that info and want to pick a tavern to be your hangout, lmk). There is a river that runs through the city that separates a quarter of it from the rest -- it sees less traffic so it's prized real estate for residents. Center of the town is the Count's Manor, where the current Countess, Lady Selena Ateraz lives and where the Guildheads of the Trade Guilds meet with her. With such a diverse population, there are a whole lot of religions practiced here. There are 3 temples dedicated for specific gods (I haven't picked which for 2 of 'em, so if there are any suggestions, feel free) indicated by the circular buildings on the west half of the map. The one in the north-west corner is the Temple to Osthor, a Yuan-Ti halfblood that is purportedly a Demigod of Change. The cult has existed for a long time, has been helpful at best, and harmless at worst, so although many see it as an unorthodox religion, everyone lets them be.

  7. Another notable building is the circular one in the southeast. Grandpa Ilgar lived here until he sadly passed away about five years ago. He was everyone's grandfather, and his doors were open 24/7. Anyone who needed a roof to sleep under or a place for a warm meal in times of trouble was welcome, and you'd be hard-pressed to find someone who didn't take aid from him at some point or another, even if it was just a bit of plaster for a scrape. Since his death his large house has been abandoned. Townsfolk take turns maintaining the yard, but no one can seem to bring themselves to go into the house itself. Before you headed out worm hunting, there were unhappy rumors floating around that the house was put up for sale and a buyer was found.

  9. You had accepted a job from Nizomi Genchel, the halfling proprietor of No Trouble Here -- one of the two combined inns & taverns in town -- to take care of a Purple Worm problem. It had begun burrowing too close to the trade route and the tremors are causing disruptions in delivery schedules. Giri Hillbeard, their head chef mentioned an interest in trying to cook the meat and would reward you extra if you could manage to bring at least 10 pounds of usable meat to him.
