Needs some advice, What can I do myself manually to improve the ranking of my site.
I launched a site a week ago and it seems fairly dead. I've done all the white hat on page SEO but the site severely lacks backlinks and traffic.
I do plan on spending some $$ later on but atm i cannot.

What are some things that can have a meaningful impact to increase traffic over the next few weeks? I'm not in the position to spend anything so i'm looking for things i can do manually myself. Don't mean to come across as a dingus who thinks i can rank on the first page without any investment etc.

You should create/publish useful piece of text, targeting inside low competition keywords.
It allow you reach first Google page and get first traffic.

Also, if your content will be useful for visitors, you have chance to get backlinks,
which allow your content get higher positions.
Yes, i have tried that but since the website is so new i want to generate backlinks (blackhat methods etc) for some quick growth.
Maybe make your own web 2.0s?
I've done a few tumblrs with links and posts but they haven't had any impact/haven't been indexed. What other web 2.0s are effective?
of course its dead, its been a week bro.. google hasn't even decided what to do with your site.. hows your on-page seo look? i would start with that
Go ahead and publish some relevant blog comments, forum posts and link directories. I'm sure you should be able to build at least 30-50 links this way, regardless of their nofollow status.
Dude, you just launched your website a week ago! It takes months to rank a site, at least if you are thinking about passive search engine traffic.

Want to do something manually? Pump out content like crazy. But i still doubt you'll see any traffic at least for a few months.

Its gonna take a few months for Google to start ranking you in the serp. In the meantime, keep creating more content. Create thorough and high quality content that provides valuable information for the targeted search query.

If you want to get some traffic, start promoting your site on social groups.
Thanks for all the advice, my on page SEO is fairly decent. My issues have been building links. I get the good content with incur decent links as you go. But I want to do some black hat/grey hat methods to give it a kickstart. I really appreciate the advice
Before Generating Backlinks analyze competitors who are on top with keywords. and how they are writing content and also confirm that you are following SEO rules properly?

Focus on link juice and internal links. Social Media Marketing also very IMP. Mainly focus on website technical errors and Blog posts.

I believe he also has some specific SEO guides you could read.

Buddy for organic traffic you want to wait at least for one to two months... choose the keyword which is not more popularized and write about tht make it as a popularized one... automatically ur site will rank

Then spam them on social media ( Fb, reddit etc.).
Try to create web2.0 properties.
Try to comment other similar niche blogs.
Comment youtube videos etc.

If your site is a week old it's to early to get organic traffic.

How did you manage to create so many backlinks, are you using Blackhat Tools? If so which ones and how?
