Pokemon abridged conceptual thingyness

Original Game to Anime on TV is replaced with Ash playing a pokemon game on the SNES: either Pokemon Green using the Super Gameboy,
or a bootleg pokemon game... which would be more of a regular game over in their world, I guess.
When it goes though the original starters, Ash will express an interest immediately in getting a Charmander, instead of being indecisive between them.

Have Pikachu not say their name, or talk english. Instead, they make sounds based on their original cry.
Infact, this should be a pattern that continues over every pokemon.

Most things should probably remain the same. Maybe make Gary a bit less of a dick.

Have ash mention that he wished what pikachu was saying while in the middle of escaping from ALL THE SPEAROW.
After the lightning strike, To Ash, Pikachu is talking in english. This is the primary departure from the original anime.
Ash will be treated as crazy to be hearing pokemon speaking english. "Its probably brain damage from the Lightning Strike."

When Team Rocket shows up, Nobody says anything about Meowth talking english during their first meeting. Infact, its completely glossed over. When they show up /again/, we can have Meowth express confusion at how Ash is accurately understanding and responding to what the other Pokemon are saying. Ash will complain about "Why is it fine if /you/ hear them talking and when I hear Pikachu I'm treated like I'm crazy?!" Thankfully, this leads to Ash being taken seriously by Misty and Team Rocket at the very least in regards to understanding pokemon.

But yeah, Ash can understand Pokemon. Was it because of the Lightning Strike? Was it Ho-oh responding to Ash's Wish? Or was it something-something Aura?

Lets skip forward a bit: To Pewter.
After losing to brock the first time and going to get Pikachu supercharged (after recalling the bike charging), and that scene plays out, Ash sends Pikachu out again, and Brock says something along the lines of "Don't you get it? Ground type pokemon are immune to Electric Attack-" And then Pikachu interupts not only by dealing damage, but /one-shotting/ Onix. A message pops up at the bottom of the screen stating "Its a Critical Hit!" This skips the sprinkler weakening it.
