  1. The play King Lear, by William Shakespeare, chronicles the demise of King Lear as he grows old. Throughout the book, multiple types of nature appear, and each has its own significance. The first definition is the non-human nature, such as gods and the weather. The second definition is the human construct of nature, in that each person has their role within the social structure. For example, a king rule over his subjects, and therefore it is natural for the subjects to be loyal to the king. The last definition of nature is the characteristics of a person, what they tend to do in a given situation. These different definitions of nature work together to show that people blame non-human nature for changes in the human construct of nature caused by the characteristic nature of others.
