  1. i. Wingless:
  2. Where were we before we were left
  3. Maybe slow dancing somewhere between
  4. Heaven and hell. Ash-covered, smoke-filled
  5. Waltzing in the ruins, in the middle of a war
  6. Where would we be if we left
  7. Perhaps flying on the highway, away from a
  8. Futureless land. You have always wanted to
  9. Just leave it all behind. We would be running,
  10. Running and running but still end up at the
  11. Same place where we started. The young only
  12. Know to run but maybe war is in our blood and
  13. There are some things you can't outrun.
  14. ii. Feathered:
  15. The world shall fall with — shouts and screams.
  16. When anger burns down rationality, slow but
  17. Sure, will you let the wolves sharpen your teeth
  18. To a knife they can use to plunge into your back
  19. When words become bullets and your lips feel
  20. like a smoking gun, will you let pain fill your
  21. Veins, will you let rage escape from your throat
  22. The world shall fall with — snow and storm.
  23. When frozen hearts have stolen the little warmth
  24. Left on this land, will you remember you can hold
  25. Out a hand, will your voice still remember music
  26. When your last home is a ship destined to sink,
  27. To become wreckage at the bottom of the ocean
  28. Will you drown your fear with tears and wait
  29. Or will you sing, repaying the cold waves in song
  30. Amidst the shouts and screams; if you can find a
  31. Melody, maybe someone would even sing along
  32. Sing about a little thing called hope, a name long
  33. Forgotten, a creature who found her home inside
  34. A maze, waiting for someone, anyone, for lost souls
  35. So don't ask why it has to be you, just
  36. Stay with me in this fading glory of a city
  37. Dance with me on the edge of the world,
  38. Sing with me through the night; and maybe,
  39. Just maybe, we can keep the dying light alive.
