- Hey guys, how’s it goin?
- It is a time of great change for this stream. The first thing I committed to change this week was my streaming PC. I have finally brought my computer into the world of 2019(ish) with a brand new setup featuring a Ryzen 5 3600 and a GeForce RTX 2060. I still have plenty of videos left to edit and this new PC will make that process quite a bit faster. I am also hoping that the better power supply will put a little less stress on the house, as a whole, and make streaming easier to do, as well. More on that in a moment. The one current downside to the setup is that I thought I had a DisplayPort cable lying around to connect a second monitor because the graphics card has one HDMI port and 3 DisplayPorts, but I don't. I'll have to wait until about Tuesday to get such a cable in, but then I'll be back to close to full strength.
- By the way, something amazing happened on Friday. I finally got to, more or less, my goal time with Yuma's story of Yu-Gi-Oh! ZEXAL World Duel Carnival on Duel Champion difficulty with a 45:32. The card that made this the most possible was My Body as a Shield, a quick-play spell that negates (and destroys the card of) any effect that destroys a monster at the cost of 1500 LP. It makes cards like Bottomless Trap Hole, Mirror Force and Dark Hole much less problematic. I put two of them in because I don't want to be stuck with multiples in my hand that often. It's almost like success in Duel Champion mode is dictated by how many plays you prevent more than how many you make. With that in mind, I think I like the general composition of the deck. I made a couple of changes based on what I saw from the 45:32, but I think I know how I want to set the deck for the marathon in two months, assuming the game gets in. I will be working on commentary for a submission this week. I should have plenty of time this week to prepare that.
- The reason I will have so much time during the week is because I am changing up my regular streaming schedule. I only have two hours on weeknights to be entertaining without destroying my sleep schedule. Considering there are more games I want to play that take more than an hour to speed through and I want to be able to actually finish runs, I need bigger blocks of time to do what I want to do. The biggest blocks of time I can do are on the weekends. Effective immediately, I am going to plan to stream at the following times:
- Friday – 7:30pm-11:30pm ET (this has not changed)
- Saturday – 4:00pm-10:00pm ET
- Sunday – 4:00pm-8:00pm ET
- This way, I am still able to stream the same amount of time each week while not being as worried about being able to finish runs. This will let me complete the longer runs that I am planning to do. For instance, if all goes according to plan with the Yu-Gi-Oh! Marathon, then I would be streaming ZEXAL World Duel Carnival on Fridays & Sundays and The Falsebound Kingdom on Saturdays until the marathon. I would not be able to take this on if I confined my streaming time to weeknights. Work is mentally exhausting enough. I need to take care of myself better and this is one of the ways I will enable myself to do that. Thus, this will be the new normal for the foreseeable future.
- That’s my life story for the week. Until next time, everyone, thanks for reading!
