  1. What is the “12-Hour” Method?
  2.
  3. The 12-Hour method is a way to maximize XP earnings from games during progression events. It is used by some newer players to earn many of the rewards given during these events without having to spend any money in the process.
  4.
  5. Wait, Progression Events?
  6.
  7. Progression Events are usually weekly periods (usually with a day long break in between) where performing certain tasks will give you XP. Leveling up during a Progression Event will earn the player different rewards like RST, RLT, XP towards the Season Event, and more importantly, free miners and racks. In the case of games, increasing the “Difficulty” of a game will usually net you 500 XP, though this amount sometimes varies. You can click on the banner on top of the Games and Home pages to see your progression on the current level of the Event (as well as the XP obtained through every action), and the full list of levels and prizes for the Event is pinned on the #general channel of the official Rollercoin Discord server.

  9. How do games work?
  10.
  11. Games have two progression bars with three stages each: Difficulty and Level. Beating a game will increase the Level of that game by one stage, and increasing the Level by three stages will return the level to one and increase the Difficult by one stage. Additionally, twelve hours after a game is beat, its level will decrease by one, and if the Level is already at one, the Difficulty will decrease by one and the level will return to three. In short, playing a game over and over will increase the Difficulty and Level in this way (the first number represents the difficulty and the second represents the level): 1-1, 1-2, 1-3, 2-1, 2-2, 2-3, 3-1… and twelve hours later, the Difficulty and Level will decrease in this way: … 3-1, 2-3, 2-2, 2-1, 1-3, 1-2, 1-1. Each of these decreases happens exactly twelve hours after you beat the game (so if you beat a game at 9 am, 10 am and 11 am, the Level will decrease by one at 9 pm, 10 pm and 11 pm)

  13. How does the 12-Hour Method work?
  14.
  15. Like previously mentioned, a player obtains usually 500 XP for the Progression Event each time they increase the Difficulty of a game by one, which normally requires the player to beat a game three times. However, by playing games twelve hours after a gaming session and timing your game clears a slightly over twelve hours after you cleared it, a player can ensure that every single clear will increase the difficulty by one.
  16.
  17. For example, if a player cleared a game just three times in the morning at 11:00 am, 11:18 am, and 11:36 am, the player will have increased the game Difficulty and Level from 1-1 to 2-1 obtaining 500 XP in the process. However that same night, at 11:00 pm, the game’s difficulty will once again be 1-3, which means that clearing it again soon after that, the player can increase the difficulty once again to 2-1 and obtain another 500 XP. Then, at 11:18 pm, Difficulty and Level will once again drop to 1-3 and clearing the game again will give you another 500 XP, and the player can repeat this again at 11:36pm. This means that a player can earn three times as much XP as they did in the first round of games by obtaining XP every single time they clear the game as opposed to only once every three clears. This process can be repeated many more times and with every single game.

  19. Neat! Now how do I do it?
  20.
  21. First, a few things you need to keep in mind: This takes time and effort. You need to pick a time when you are available both in the morning and at night exactly twelve hours apart, as well as making sure you have a few hours available (three and a half hours if you want to take full advantage of this method) for each game session.
  22.
  23. Another thing you should keep in mind is that the site keeps track of how many games you have played, and that the waiting period in between games (from now on referred to as the “Cooldown”) will increase with the number of games you played in a 24-hour period. Clearing a game will increase your number of games played in a 24-hour period by one, and this increase will last exactly twenty-four hours. At two hundred and one games played in a 24-hour period, the cooldown to play the same game will be about seventeen minutes, which means that in order to use this method you will want to wait seventeen minutes or slightly more between clears of the same game.
  24. After three hundred games played in a 24-hour period, the cooldown becomes so long that playing games after that becomes too time-consuming to be practical (though the majority of people won’t really have the time or the patience to play beyond that anyway). This means that you should probably play less than one hundred and fifty games in each session every twelve hours.
  25.
  26. Can you give me an example of how people do this?
  27.
  28. Sure. Normally, doing twelve rounds of every single game in order every twelve hours is enough to obtain the maximum amount of prizes from the Progression Events obtainable through this method alone if you play throughout the entire duration of the event. You can do less rounds of games if you desire, but keep in mind that it should be a multiple of three since you want the games to be at Level one (X-1) when you start using this method before you start your rounds. Here’s an example of what two sessions of games might look like:
  29.
  30. Morning session Afternoon session
  31. First Clear Last Clear First Clear Last Clear
  32. Round 1 8:00 am 8:10 am 8:02 pm 8:12 pm
  33. Round 2 8:18 am 8:28 am 8:20 pm 8:30 pm
  34. Round 3 8:36 am 8:46 am 8:38 pm 8:48 pm
  35. Round 4 8:54 am 9:04 am 8:56 pm 9:06 pm
  36. Round 5 9:12 am 9:22 am 9:14 pm 9:24 pm
  37. Round 6 9:30 am 9:40 am 9:32 pm 9:42 pm
  38. Round 7 9:48 am 9:58 am 9:50 pm 10:00 pm
  39. Round 8 10:06 am 10:16 am 10:08 pm 10:18 pm
  40. Round 9 10:24 am 10:34 am 10:26 pm 10:36 pm
  41. Round 10 10:42 am 10:52 am 10:44 pm 10:54 pm
  42. Round 11 11:00 am 11:10 am 11:02 pm 11:12 pm
  43. Round 12 11:18 am 11:28 am 11:20 pm 11:30 pm
  44.
  45. If a player plays twelve rounds of games for the entire length of the progression event, if the event lasts seven days, they can earn a total of 924000 XP, which will net them about eighteen prizes from the Progression Event. Usually, there is a large gap between the XP required for the prizes obtainable from the 12-Hour method and the next prize, which means that for the prizes after that you will be required to spend RLT (and probably purchase RLT using crypto to get a multiplier before that).
