Caucasus Impression

Caucasus is a murder mystery VN that has a short but solid story covered in only 3 days. Yes, the ingame story only lasted for 3 days. It's successfully present a 3 days full of murder horror experience with amazing atmosphere and various things happened during these days.

The story itself is splitted into three major route in which each route has its own branching that lead to various heroine or bad ending. Following each major routes, the storyline itself is quite straight. The route is choosen depend on your choice, be it in the direct choice or during the gameplay.

About the gameplay, i would say it's kinda pointless tbh. During the whole playthrough, there's no significant information you can obtain through the item you click in detective mode or people in listening section. The free mode is also useless in most of occasion, as you can just end the section and move to another room to progress the story. So it's only act as a route branching tool rather than call it a gameplay to obtain an information regarding the mysteries.

Honestly, for me, there's nothing special about the writing in Caucasus. It's quite straightforward for a murder mystery VN. However i would say the presentation of the H is...quite good.

All characters in Caucasus is fascinating. Their charm is mostly founded in their personality and their backstory, despite its look, especially for the heroine, that come from the character design obviously.
For the 3 days setting and as the story progressed, the characters development is pretty good for most characters, mainly due to their backstory. However some charas has sudden development that seems forced for the story progression. And to be honest, Souko is officially my favourite characters, both in design and personality. She's just totally my type lol.

Now we're talking about the art. The art in Caucasus are probably one of its charm, and without a doubt, it's totally amazing. The characters design is totally beautiful, and i love this kind of characters design that visualize a cool, elegant, and beautiful heroine character very well. I'm officially fallen in love with Sugina Miki's art because of this. His characters design is just totally my favourite type. The BG is also amazing, it visualize the atmosphere perfectly.

For the music, The opening song of Caucasus sung by Shimotsuki Haruki is definitely my favourite of all music in Caucasus, it's just amazing. The BGM is also perfectly fit with the atmosphere in Caucasus.

Unfortunately, not only Caucasus is very short in length, it also has a ton of H that is completely off place. Looking back at lore in Caucasus, I'm sure if Caucasus could be a little longer, it would be great.

Overall, I wouldn't call it amazing, but I enjoyed it a lot.
