- Four adopted brothers come to avenge their mother's death in what appears to be a random killing in a grocery store robbery. However, the boys' investigation of the death reveals more nefarious activities involving the one brother's business dealings with a notorious local hoodlum. Two cops who are trying to solve the case may also not be what they seem.
- In Detroit, when the beloved citizen Evelyn Mercer is murdered in a store heist, her four dangerous stepsons come to her funeral. Bobby Mercer, Angel Mercer and Jack Mercer join the regenerated ex-union leader Jeremiah Mercer, and they decide to investigate the murder. They discover that her execution was intentional, and resolve to find the criminals by themselves.
- In a year with movies such as Mr. and Mrs. Smith, Star Wars episode III, Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire, and War of the Worlds the best movie I watched was Four Brothers. The movie was an emotional roller-coaster from beginning to end.<br/><br/>I have almost no qualms about this movie. Great action sequences, an awesome chase scene, laughter, tragedy, and a truly despicable villain. How can you go wrong? Throughout the whole movie, I was trying to put it down, "How could a movie keep this up? It is gong to slow down" were thoughts that coursed through my mind whenever there was a slower section. Of which the dips in action were all well timed and weren't frivolous.<br/><br/>All four brothers, a few villains, and the cops were all well developed characters. Where most movies have trouble developing two or three characters, this movie managed to develop nine characters by my count.<br/><br/>I write this review several months after I saw the movie in theater, and I am anticipating the DVD. Which I will happily spend twenty dollars on.
- most definitely my favorite movie, watched it 3 times in 4 days and loved it every time. There was never a dull part in the movie that did not have me interested. I honestly do not see how the average for this movie is 6.7 because I'm shocked this movie didn't blow out box office records. Just talking about it right now makes me want to go and watch it again!!! My favorite character would have to be Angel, he tears some gangsters down!! It is sweet to see the Mercer's get their revenge. Now I'm from the suburbs so i do not know if crime is really that bad in the city, but it seemed realistic to me that something like that could happen in a city like Detroit.
