- One thing that every single instance of PSR drama has proven beyond anything else is that there are people who do *not* know how to handle polarizing issues. The people who I'm talking about are centrists. More specifically, centrists who are vocal about issues that they have a centrist opinion on. I think for each and every polarizing political and social issue in the real world, centrists have been hated by both sides and for good reason. So how do you handle polarizing issues? There are a couple of options.
- First option is simple: pick a side. You don't need to be radicalized or agree with everything your side says and thinks. You can call out people on your own side. However, the important thing is that you have clear and defined values. The reason why centrism pretty much never works out is that two sides to a polarizing issue pretty much always have completely incompatible views. Every political and social issue in the US (and other countries but mostly the US) proves this. Even if you agree with certain points from both sides, you can't really have strong values from both sides, at least not without looking extremely stupid. Yes, there are often wrong in both sides but that's just how it is; there are almost zero issues where one side is 100% correct. This is why people from both sides of **any** issue hates centrists: they don't have real values.
- It really shows when centrists try and get along with both sides while still caring about the issue that both sides are polarized in. Like it or not, if you care about an issue and have opinions about it, you *are* going to be hated by people. Centrists care so much about not being hated by people yet end up being hated by everyone. Roushmore tried to get along with both sides of the Crafted drama yet ended up being hated by both sides (I can confirm that from my time in Crafted's sever, everyone there, even the more moderate people, hated Roushmore). If someone hates you for a view you have, so be it. Ever since I voiced my opinions on the crafted drama, i've gotten banned from discord servers from people like Wartab, Crafted, and Minnow (all of whom are massive pussies lmfao) and I have never really been hurt by any of them.
- Second option is to just... not say anything. Twitter likes to make it seem like you *need* to have an opinion and be vocal on everything but that's not even close to correct. Sometimes in a polarizing issue, some people just don't know enough about an issue or need to think more about it to have a concrete opinion on it. That is 100% fine and it's good to think about an issue before establishing an opinion about it. However, if you're vocal about an issue you know next to nothing about and you try and act like you have strong values and opinions on them when you really don't, it makes you look extremely stupid and accomplishes nothing.
- Third option is to just not care. Sometimes, people have too much going on in their lives to care about every issue and sometimes, people just don't want to think about a polarizing issue. As shown by some people in PSR (not gonna name names but most people probably know) you can get along with people on both sides of an issue if you just.... don't say anything about it. Not many people actually expect each and every person and their mothers to talk about, or look heavily into, a certain issue.
- Last thing worth noting is that you can change your mind after learning new information or realizing you were wrong in a certain area. Some people think that it looks stupid when you're vocal that you're on a certain side of an issue and swap sides but it honestly just looks more mature than anything else.
