  1. Dear Mr Carter
  2. Firstly, I would like to apologise for the lateness of my reply. We try to ensure that all emails are answered in a timely fashion, so I am sorry that this hasn't happened on this occasion.
  3.
  4. I am also very sorry to learn that you are unhappy with the green fence being put up near our Stafford Extra store. I appreciate your concerns in this matter.
  5.
  6. Please let me assure you that it is never our intention to cause any upset to our customers and so I am pleased that you have brought this to my attention.
  7.
  8. With this in mind, I have spoken to the Store Duty Manager Helen, who has informed me that the fence was erected by the local council for safety reasons. When the store enquired further with the council about this matter, they were informed that pedestrians were crossing the road dangerously whilst trying to get to and from the store. To prevent any accidents the fence has been put up so that pedestrians will cross at safer areas.
  9.
  10. I do apologise that this has caused you an inconvenience and I have passed your concerns onto the Store Management, but I hope that you will understand our position in this matter as the actions taken have been for your own safety.
  11.
  12. Thank you for your email.
  13.
