- You get up out of bed, you angrily slam your alarm clock silent as you get to your feet and rub your eyes. It had been three months since the whole affair with Koffman took place. Life in Rosen City had mostly gone back to normal, there were people who were committing crimes still and likewise the police were doing their best to to fight said crime and keep things under control. Thankfully, they had help in form of six heroes who regularly showed up to stop crimes, regardless of what it was. Bank robberies, car jackings, attempted assaults, anything and everything these brave six would stop...and you were proud to be a part of that group...or well, you at least coached them on the proper ethics of being a hero.
- “Tim, it’s time for school!” your mother, Helena Drakesfield, or as she’s known to the public White Moon called to you.
- “I’m coming...” you grumble, as you head to the bathroom to brush your teeth.
- That’s right...you’re just a kid...you aren’t Red Meteor today, no, instead you are simply Tim Drakesfield, mentor to Red Meteor and his allies...sort of.
- After getting dressed, you meet your mother downstairs, grabbing a small energy bar from the kitchen before you return to the living room.
- “Come on, the sooner I drive you to school, the sooner I can get to work.”
- >Go along with her
- >Ask to be taken to school the ‘fun’ way
- >Go along with her
- As much as a part of you wants her to take you to school in her White Moon form, you decide against that and instead file into the car behind your mom. The old thing was actually your dads, or so your mom tells you anyway. The car rumbles to a start before getting warmed up properly after which you begin to head down the road.
- "So mom, can I finally go to the comic book shop after school?" You ask taking a bite of your energy bar, your punishment was up and yo were finally able to to move about freely again, no longer were you confined to the dark recesses of your room where you couldn't even watch tv!
- "I suppose it's okay, but you better get home before sundown. No staying out after dark, understood?"
- "Yes mom" You drone "I'll be sure to be home before six..."
- "Five." She said flatly
- "What? Five?! But that's barely enough time to read all the new releases!"
- "Want me to make it four?" your mother threatened, her tone gave off that indication of 'say one more thing I dare you'.
- "Fine..." You grumbled taking another bite, you pulled up to the school, your mother letting you out and watching you dissolve into the schoolyard. She always did this, her idea of keeping you safe...and with her powers, she'd probably cave someone's skull in if they tried to hurt you.
- As you began making your way to a secluded spot, you were called over by a student wearing a thick jacket.
- "Yo Tim, good to see ya!"
- "Hey Clutch." You said giving him a half-hearted wave, what do you want?"
- "What do I want...? Oh this isn't about me friend, oh no, this is about what you want!"
- "Not again with this, what is it this time?"
- "I just got some trading cards for ya is all...come on, take a look at them."
- He opens his jacket, revealing packs of trading cards with Red and the others on them, they're popularity had been at an all time high thanks to what happened a few months ago, and people were doing all sorts of things like this. From toys to cards,to whatever else, Red and the others were all over the city.
- You had to admit though...you were a sucker for the trading cards. There were some new holographic ones and you could feel that itch...
- >Resist the urge!
- >Take the Red card
- >Take the Blue Card
- >Take the Orange Card
- >Take the Black Card
- >Take the White Card
- >Take the Crimson Card
- >Take the White Card
- You can't help yourself, things like trading cards are your number 1 vice! You've got all 569 Hyper Hero Force 5 cards and the 123 limited edition holographic villain cards for that series! You've already started on collecting the ones for Red and his friends, so this is a big step for you!
- "O-okay...what do you want for the white one?"
- "White Moon...? Huh,I figured you'd be more of a Red Meteor guy." Clutch said
- "Well she is my mo...." Clutch gives you an odd look "Most favorite of the group. Coolest one for sure."
- "Well whatever floats your boat...I'll part with it for 15 bucks."
- "F-fifteen bucks?!" That was nearly all your money for the week! But...but the card...oh screw it,it's worth it! You may starve, but you'll be okay...somehow. You fork over the cash and Clutch gives you the card
- "And remember Tim...you never saw me..." He states hurrying away...you have no idea why he always does that, but who cares, you've got a new card for your collection!
- It isn't long before you're entering the school building properly and sitting down in class, things are about to get started, but your friend Teddy, one of the council taps your shoulder
- "Hey man, you free for the comic shop after school?"
- "Yeah, I'm not grounded any longer. Anyone else coming?"
- "Maybe Vince, but I'll have to check with him at lunch."
- "Cool...Oh and be on the lookout for Clutch, he's got some new cards available!"
- "For real?"
- "Yup, snagged myself a holo-White Moon card."
- The conversation is cut short as your teacher enters the room and starts getting things underway.
- >Daydream
- >LEARN(1d100)
- >Marvel at your card
- >Other/Write-in
- >Marvel at your card(89)
- You don't really pay attention in class all that much, most of your time is spent marveling at your holo-white moon trading card. You look at the stylized art of White Moon slashing with her sword, taking in every small detail you can. Looking on the back you see the stats for her and some of the abilities she's got at her disposal. This card of your mother is actually pretty high tier all things considered.
- At one point your teacher walks by, but thankfully, she's too distracted going over the lesson to see you having the card out, so you're left to stare at it even longer. Eventually, it's lunch time and so you walk to the cafeteria, where you see your friends all talking together. They wave you over and after taking a seat next to them, you get to talking with them.
- "Alright boys, best hero time!" Teddy states "Whose the best of the team?"
- "Easy, Blue Comet." Vince said plainly, "That ability to use water, that awesome looking gun, and her armor even transforms!
- "Please, Orange Sun is the best, I mean, she can fly! And turn invisible and she's got that cool little ghost thing that follows her and eats things!" Teddy chimes in,
- You hear several other people begin to talk about their favorites, until Teddy finally turns to you. "Fine then Tim, what do you think? Whose the best of them all?"
- >Red Meteor
- >Orange Sun
- >Blue Comet
- >White Moon
- >Crimson Eclipse
- >Black Asteroid
- >White Moon
- "White Moon of course." You bluntly state "Her powers are pretty great, she can heal things, and can use light powers and even better is when she makes chicken alfredo for dinner!"
- "What...?" Teddy replies looking at you weird
- "I mean, I heard her say she liked that when she saved me that one time a few months ago, she came to visit me at the hospital!"
- At this everyone's eyes go wide, you'd never told them, mostly because hanging out with Red and his friends had become a daily occurance so it wasn't anything amazing to you. But to everyone else it was a big deal, they began crowding around you, asking you what else you spoke with her about. You make up a couple things, but lunch mostly flies by thanks to this.
- School continues on as normal, numerous kids all talking about Red and the others and how apparently Blue Comet and Red Meteor just busted up a gang members causing a ruckus, and before long you're out of school, free to enjoy yourself for a while. With that being the case, you meet up with Vince and Teddy and the three of you head over to the comic book shop.
- "Hey Tim,Vince, Teddy." The shopkeeper says to you all
- "Yo Oswald, how goes it?" you reply
- "Just fine, you finally allowed to come by again eh?"
- "Yup, finally out of the doghouse, got any new material?"
- "Oh boy DO I!" Oswald exclaims He whips out a fresh new comic book, still in the plastic, with Red and the others on front.
- "They're making a new comic book series based on Red Meteor and his band of allies. They've been selling fast, but I kept one in mint condition just for you. Now I'm sure you want it."
- >Weep that you have no money for it right now
- >Not at the moment, but hold onto it for me?
- >Let Vince or Teddy have it
- >Other/Write-in
- > weep but ask him to hold onto it
- You feel like a fool. You cannot help but shed a few tears as you look at the comic book with a pained expression, your friends looking at you as if you're some kind of weirdo.
- "C-can you hang on to that for me Oswald, I don't have enough money..." You whimper out
- "Er...sure son, don't worry about it, besides, you're one of my favorites, can't go upsetting you now...that mom of yours would probably kill me."
- You sulk off with your friends and you all begin reading some random comic books. Thankfully, the store has it's own reading area, perfect for people who want to enjoy their purchases right then and there.
- "So how long until you think some new bad guy shows up for Red Meteor and the others?" Teddy started closing his book
- "What do you mean?" You ask with a raised eyebrow
- "Come on man, you know how this goes: Everything is looking okay for the heroes, it's nice and quiet and things are all safe. Then boom! A new bad guy shows up who is even stronger and gives them a serious beatdown. It's coming man, trust me.
- "He's got a point actually." Vince says rubbing his chin. "I bet you 5 bucks within the next few weeks, we'll see Red and the others getting knocked around pretty bad.
- >I think I need to go
- >Rebuke them
- >Get in touch with your mom. Now.
- >Other/Write-in
- >Get in touch with your mom. Now.
- This...doesn't sit well with you. You've read a lot of comic books and watched a lot of tv shows, and right now Teddy and Vince are making a terrifying amount of sense.
- "Hey uh...I'll have to see you guys later."
- "Leaving already Tim...?" Vince said
- "Yeah, mom wants me in the house by 5 unfortunately. I'll catch you guys later okay?"
- "Yeah, see ya tomorrow man." Teddy said waving at you as the two hung around to do some more reading.
- As soon as you got outside, you hurriedly phone your mother."
- "Hello, Tim? Is something the matter."
- "Hey mom, can you come get me from the comic book shop...There's something we need to talk about."
- "Talk about...? Well alright, I'll be there soon."
- You want for a short while before your mom pulls up to the comic book shop, letting you into the passenger seat. "So what did you want to talk about honey?" She asks driving.
- "Alright mom, this is a serious...have you noticed any strange enemies lately?" You ask
- "Strange enemies? No, nothing like that, just the usual thugs here and there as usual."
- "Really? no weirdos at all?"
- "The only weird person I see on a regular basis is Red."
- "Okay...just be careful, there's gonna be a bad guy popping up real soon."
- Your mother scoffs at that "What makes you so sure."
- "I talked with the council about it."
- "Again with that council of yours...aren't they just your comic book friends?"
- >Don't doubt them
- >Yeah so...?
- >We've been right so far
- >don’t doubt them
- > we’ve been right so far
- "Hey, don't doubt us, we've been right so far with everything...sort of. We just confused Sally with Koffman."
- Your mother lets out another chuckle as she pulls up into the driveway of your house.
- "My point exactly, you boys just got a little lucky. Don't worry, there won't be anymore monsters or weirdos showing up in town anymore, they're all gone and your mom is going to make sure you're safe!"
- "Heh, thanks mom. You state getting out and heading inside "What's for dinner for night anyway?"
- "Just gonna fry up some chicken, so it won't be long."
- You can't deny you were hungry about that...however, you still felt a bit odd about what your friends said...almost as if something were going to happen after all."
- >Just ignore it, your mom is right
- >Send Red a message, telling him to be ready
- >Send Red a message, telling him to be ready
- You can't shake the feeling and so just before you go to your room to drop off your things, you send Red a message.
- "I was talking with the council...we believe there may be a new enemy arriving in town soon. Be on your guard, and let the others know as well."
- You look at your phone for a few moments before receiving a 'You got it.' From Red's end. The smell of chicken wafts into your room, and you can't help but feel your stomach rumble.

- On the outskirts of Rosen, a lone man grinned to himself as he made his way into the city. He was coming in through the southern part of town, since that elven forest or whatever the hell it is was on the way. He'd thought of going there to see if he could find anything interesting...but he couldn't enter. Just he luck.
- "Oh well..." He snickered, I came to the city to strike it big...not play around in some woods. "Now then...time to go meet my new friends..." He said with a smirk as he walked towards the city proper.
