The Longest Hour

>Average, ordinary evening.
>Have three fluffy ponies.
>Supper time.
>"Psghettis pwease!" they all beg.
"You three know it isn't spaghetti day."
>Can't give fluffies spaghetti every day of the week.
>Fill three bowls with fluffy chow.
>Answer phone.
>Come back; two bowls empty, one only half empty.
>Hear crash.
>Tan unicorn fluffy is in cabinet.
>Looking for canned spaghetti.
>Hard smack on rump.
>Fluffy pony squeals, tumbles forward, crashing into canned goods.
>"Owwwie!"
"What do you think you're doing?"
>Stupid fluffy doesn't understand it's in trouble.
>"Wan' psghettis!"
"No, bad fluffies get an hour in the sorry box."
>Yank out of cabinet by tail, carry by fluff.
>Fluffy unicorn crying.
>"Pwease no sowwy box! Only wan' psghettis!"
"Today is not spaghetti day you spoilt fluffy brat."
>Sorry box is in a dark closet.
>Box is narrow so fluffy pony must remain standing.
>Otherwise fluffies would just lay down and take a nap, forgetting that they're even being punished.
>Put whimpering fluffy in box.
"One hour! And if you poop in the box you get a spanking with the sorry stick."
>Close closet door.
>Other two fluffy ponies are hiding from you under the coffee table.
>Reassure them they're good fluffies, not in trouble.
>"Fwiend bad fwuffy?" one asks timidly.
"He was naughty...he can come out to play in one hour."
>Know fluffy ponies have no concept of time.
>Phone rings.
>On phone is dumb friend.
>Flat tire.
>Stupid fuckshit doesn't have a jack or tools.
>Spent $2500 on stereo...no tools.
>Dumb as a fluffy pony.
>Have to go out and help him now.
>Lock fluffy ponies up in safe room.
>Go out to help stranded friend.
Hours later.
>Come home, tired and dirty.
>Check on fluffy ponies.
>They've already gone to sleep.
>Big fluff-pile.
>Don't wake them.
Next morning.
>Wake up, breakfast.
>Lazy fluffies still sleeping in safe room.
>Easier this way.
>Fill three food bowls, quietly.
>Go to work.
That evening.
>Hang out after work.
>Have a few beers.
>Go home after dark.
>Fluffies are overjoyed to see you.
>Wait...only two fluffy ponies?
>One food bowl still full.

>Fluffy pony is trembling, face soaked with tears.
>Just spent 24 hours in the box.
>Pick fluffy unicorn up, ready to apologize.

>Put fluffy pony down.
>Struggles to walk on horribly sore legs.
>"Owww" whimpers unicorn, "weggies huwt...tummy huwt."
>Tries to walk but sore legs and cramped bowels can't take it.
>Poops on floor.
>Begins bawling. "Sowweee! Sowweee! Pwease no spankies wif sowwy stick!"
>Sigh. This is your fault.
"No...it's okay this time."
>Pick fluffy uncorn up, carry to litterbox so it can finish.
>Clean fluffy unicorn up.
>Still too sore to play with others.
>Let it sit in your lap while you pet and console it.
>"Sowwee daddy. Am be good fwuffy. No more one hour in sowwee box."
>Feel bad for almost laughing out loud.
>Fluffy pony is too stupid to understand time.
>Thought it was in box for one hour.
"Good. No more one hour in sorry box."
