Premise: each character is the ruler and heir of a kingdom, each kingdom is a land from sburb, skaia is a huge well of untapped resources and the different characters are at war over it. And are allies or enemies based on their moon in sburb

Karkat
-most competent military commander in spite of lacking resources
-pretty average warrior personally (in comparison with the other major characters, he is decent at both melee and ranged combat, but doesn't excell at anything still leagues ahead of normal soldiers, as are all other major adult characters)
- the son of a tribal chief
-is an orc
- orcs are governed by their priestesses, while the chief and warriors enforce law and lead military operations. The chief's wives are the priestesses(racial note)
-heterosexual biromantic
-while better looking and well mannered than the average orc, his race alone causes half of his allies to not particularly trust him. And he is still a complete ass by the standards of every other race.

Eriidan
-sea elf
-incompetent, arrogant, wasteful commande.
-leans too much on abundant resources and old, worn out tactics.
-uses a balista as a crossbow , and is only strong enough to do so through a magic ring.
-very knowledgeabke about magic and history, uses magic to improve his prowess with a crowsbow.
-due to being the second wealthiest heir, he has all the best equipment and coule likely destroy anyone in a one on one fight
-is actually very scared of his position, and wishes he could get away from it all, even if just temporarily

Kanaya
-the moral compass for the whole prospitan allience
-a human holywoman serving the patron goddess of orcs
-engaged to karkat for political reasons
-eventual mother of some of karkat's children for political reasons
-is only wanting to marry karkat so he can inherrit her kingdom, and then she will rule over the then expanded Lopah as
high priestess.(karkat is cool with this)
-a charming , delicate looking lady , who is of great eloquence and elogance, but will studder when nervous.

-her concept of love and sexuality is still highly warped from her time as a beast of tentacles and mouths,but looks for little more than knowledge in her romantic pursuits.

Roxy
-rose's guardian and edvisor
-never really thought she would even get to see her aunt's palace.and due to the lack of responsibility decided to drink her life away.
-when she heard she would be the advisor for her new cousin after her aunt's mysterious death, she had decided to sober up as to become a good influence on the child.
-the second smartest bipedal character in this au.

-you know that crappy fandom portrayal where he acts like a toddler? He is a toddler

-due to being relatively young and inexperienced with kids, she is a slightly jaded person.
-she is mostly the same as in cannon otherwise, except she has to look after a four year old who loves playing with hammers.

-hates her own species
-is struggling to keep her people in line.
-is forced into being mostly irrelevent to the warfront due to this
-when her species gets it's colletive shit together prospit will start to gain an advantage

-simultaneously aates and respects karkat, the feeling is mutual.
-wants whats best for her allience, even as she commits warcrimes , it is what she thinks will benefit the others most.

Feferi
-The only woman to lead her men directly in battle until vriska joins the fray.
-hated by her citizens but loved by the military

- is being used as a scapegoat by her mother
- is a polyamorist, and is dating nepeta,

- fairly competent in commanding soldiers. But is outdone by her mother's generals.

-crushes on karkat, but as she believes orc culture conflicts with her free love philosophy(which is only half true) she tries to avoid dwelling on it.

-is a ranger with limited casting abilities.
-could probably kick her crush's ass thanks to being so agile.

-due to his race's seclusionist nature, he is very naive of the ways of his allies
-he only leads an elite squad of winged elves, feeling that he couldn't bare  guilt of hundreds or thousands of losses being his fault

-a paladin who worships her mom
-manipulating for justice and the greater good
-flirting with dave as to avoid bloodshed.
-actually kind of likes dave, but he is not an adult just yet, so she is willing to wait

-affable and silly when in a good mood, horrifying when not
-the most vicious commander, cannibalises underling and enemy alike, brings the still living impaled corpses of his enemies into a battlefield.

-still a better person than in canon

Sollux
-doesn't give a crap about the conflict, he has better shit to do then worry over some preposterous paradise
-he lends his soldiers to one kingdom or another depending on who pays the most.
-other than that he really doesn't show up much aside from some interactions with feferi aradia and karkat.

Aradia
-the most cheery necromanceress you will ever see.
-was put into an iron golem for a while, until she reanimated herself as a litch.
-rules over land of glowing quartz crystals that increase power of  undead
-in spite of living among vampires and zombies the still living citizenry is very happy with things.

-intelligent, wise ,and a good speaker. She is everything her brother isn't

-has more phylacteries thwn any other.
-depending on weather caliborn or caliope winds up the stronger of the oroboros. Lord english can instead be a death knight.
-the one who does not become lord english will be little more than a sentient growth on the litch's body.
-when finally defeated for good the surviving twin will be free of phylacteryhood. And will have absorbed their sibling's personality, becoming a more well rounded version of that survivor
