Alexithymiaa: -Noah was sitting in a booth at the back of the cafe, a plate with a burger and fries in front of him on the table. He was working his way through his burger, completely famished after a long day of work.-
Covet: Tae made her way inside the cafe, having spent most of the day with her family hanging out. She spotted Noah's car outside, so she knew he was around somewhere. She stopped at the counter to get a Strawberry milkshake ordered and then made her way over to his table sliding in. "Hi there. Long day?" She asked him. because it was a little obvious.
Alexithymiaa: -He glanced up with the burger held in his hands, pausing in his chewing to nod to her. "Yeah. We had a lot of shit to do." He told her before finishing chewing what was in his mouth. "Made good money though." He forced out before shoving another bite into his mouthh.-
Covet: "That's good to know. So well worth the work then?" She asked him then reached over to steal a fry from him, because that's what girlfriends do. "Means you'll be able to get a new bike maybe? Especially with it getting nicer and all."
Alexithymiaa: "I can get a new bike, just not what I want. That bike was custom." He told her before another bite. "I need to see how much I'm projected to make for the month of April and where my car payments are going to fall with that before I get start buying a bike."-
Covet: "Oh. So you want to basically duplicate what you already had?" She asked him. "What was so custom about it?"
Alexithymiaa: "The handlebars, the pegs, the seat, the paint, the rims...." He startled to rattle off, shoving the remainder of the burger into his mouth and grabbing his napkin to wipe his greasy fingers off.-
Covet: Tae looked at him, "You really purchased all those things seperately?" She asked confused, because to her a bike didn't need to have all that fancy shit. She smiled at the waitress as her milkshake was dropped off. "Thank you."
Alexithymiaa: "Well.... yeah. How else are you supposed to get exactly what you want?" He asked confused, not really sure what it was she wasnt understanding about this. He likes BMX and skating shit. This comes with the territory.-
Covet: "I guess. But if you're just riding it to work and around town, does it really need all that custom stuff?" She asked. "That's just making it more of a target to be stolen isn't it?"
Alexithymiaa: -He kind of just sat there staring at her for a moment. "But it's not even worth having if I don't like it... if I have to buy a bike, why wouldn't I just try a little harder to get exactly what I want?"-
Covet: "Because what you want is apparently what other people want and are willing to just steal from you." Tae said to him, taking a sip from her milkshake. "What if you got just a regular run of the mill bike for when you're not able to pay attention to it, but like for when you want to get fancy and go do the tricks and such then you bust out the custom?"
Alexithymiaa: "So I have to buy two bikes now?" He asked her, still confused why he couldnt just have his bike and be done with it.-
Covet: "Well not really, not if you don't want to. It just makes sense to maybe buy some second hand one online or something to ride to work and such, where it's clearly not supervised, that way it looks like shit and nobody even wants to steal it. Think of it like an investment for your nice custom bike."
Alexithymiaa: "Kind of just seems like a waste of money..." He started, only focusing on the fact that he had to buy two. "It's like buying a nice BMW, but not driving it anywhere you need to park in a public place for fear of something bad happening to it. You're essentially not driving the fucking car you bought to drive."-
Covet: "But if I had the money to get a BMW, I would still keep my piece of shit, so that I can save the BMW for like going out on dates, and such where it will be appreciated for being shown off. And I can keep it in the garage and such at night, so if someone desperately needs to steal a car they can have my POS."
Alexithymiaa: "Well if I kept it in the garage when I'm home, someone who desperately needs to steal a car wouldnt even see one, and they'd just go nextdoor to the person who parks it outside." He told her with a shrug. "I just don't see the point in not riding my nice bike around. I don't want to ride a shitty bike."-
Covet: "Fine, but when it gets stolen again, don't say I didn't try to warn you." Tae said sipping from her milkshake some more.
Alexithymiaa: "It'll be fine. Maybe I can get a tracker on it or something and I can just use my phone to find it." He started wondering out loud, grabbing a few fries to toss into his mouth. "Either way, it's probably going to cost me about six hundred bucks for what I want."-
Covet: "Jeeze. That's expensive for a bike." Tae said. "They make those square tag thingies and have them at best buy, you get like four to a package so you can put one on your keys, your bike...etc."
Alexithymiaa: "Not a bad idea." He said with a shrug as he reached for more fries, nudging the plate closer to her as an offering to share. "How much are those things?"-
Covet: "I dunno, I didn't think to look. I can google it though," She said pulling out her phone to look. "Tile mate gives you four tiles for sixty dollars, and you can get single ones for twenty five. There is the proversion too for a hundred for four."
Alexithymiaa: "What the hell is the difference with the pro version?" He asked as he pushed more fries into his mouth.-
Covet: "I don't know... I didn't look." She said having already set her phone back down, "Maybe some sort of distance or insurrance thing?"
Alexithymiaa: "I don't know, I guess I can look it up later. And it doesnt even matter right now if I dont have the bike. I need to figure out my finances and when shit is due so I can sort out when I can replace it." He said, leeaning back in his booth.-
Covet: "Yeah. How long do you think it will take you to save up for it?" Tae asked him as she finished off her milkshake making the slurpy noises.
Alexithymiaa: "I'm not really sure. Maybe a month? But spring break is coming and I was already trying to put money aside for that..." He started, thinking about it. "Ya' know, I bet my parents would pay for spring break."-
Covet: "You think they would pay for you to go down to Tijuana?" She asked him raising an eyebrow, "OH MY GOD DO YOU WANT TO KNOW WHAT HAPPENED LAST YEAR!?" Tae said to him all excited like.
Alexithymiaa: "Well yeah. It's a big expense and they know I've been responsible about my money so I think they would help me out." He said with a nod before staring at her. "What happened last year?"-
Covet: "So... A mexican pool cleaner... slipped and fell and died in the pool, and a few of our classmen, felt guilty and decided to bury him on the beach." Tae said as like it was no big deal that they hid a dead body.
Alexithymiaa: -He kind of just sat there staring at her in disbelief before he started to crack up. "Ha ha very funny. You had me for a second. Is that like tradition to all the people who havent been there yet or something?"-
Covet: "No... Seriously.. we were all playing chicken and someone splashed water on the side of the pool and the pool cleaner slipped and fell and hit his head, then drowned." She said looking at him.
Alexithymiaa: -He was still smiling until he noticed she was dead serious, his smile slowly slipping off his face. "Wait really? And a bunch of people just buried him?"-
Covet: "Yeah, I wasn't a part of all of that." She said putting her hands up. " I went with Haylee back up to the house. But some people thought that was a better idea."
Alexithymiaa: "Than calling the police? How could that have been a better idea? It was an accident, it's not like anyone was going to get in trouble." He paused, frowning into his plate. "Was it anyone I know?"-
Covet: "Well.. it's Tijuana... and mexico... so the police... well... some crazy shit happens." She said with a shrug. "Hmmm... I think maybe Adam was with them too? But it was Felix, and Brad I think?"
Alexithymiaa: "Adam?" Noah choked out in obvious surprise. "Those two other assholes I can completely see it, but Adam? Was he like drugged or something? He's such a goodie two shoes."-
Covet: "No, but because he's a goodie two shoes, he felt obligated to help." Tae said to him.
Alexithymiaa: -He instantly rolled his eyes. "That's a terrible reason to help bury a body."-
Covet: "Yeah, well the whole thing was terrible period." She said to him with a shake of her head. "But we never heard anything more about it... so if they found it it was long after we were gone."
Alexithymiaa: "Well if they buried it on the beach, it probably washed up eventually. Erosion and all that shit." He said with a wave of his hand. "Probably not near where it was initially buried though."-
Covet: "That's good though right?" Tae asked him. "Oh crap I didn't realize it was so late, I have to be up early for one of my make up exams."
Alexithymiaa: "I guess. It depends what you consider good." He said in a smaller voice, judging pretty hard that these fucks buried a body in Mexico. "Yeah, I guess we should head back." He slipped out of the booth, reaching into his pocket for his wallet to toss a few bills down onto the table for tip.-
Covet: She slid out as well, and looked at him patting him on the shoulder as they headed out, " Don't worry about it. I'm sure nothing that bad is going to happen this year."
Alexithymiaa: "YEah, great." He was clearly not reassured, but nonetheless still excited to go for Spring break because eighteen in Mexico. "Let's just get the fuck out of here." He retorted, putting his hand on her back and ushering her out the door.-
