- Alexithymiaa: -Bryan sat on the couch in one of the hospital rooms the nurse had directed them to to wait for Steph to come out of surgery. A nurse had come in about fifteen minutes ago to let them know she was in recovery and coming out of the anesthesia. He shifted uncomfortably in place on the couch, pulling his phone out of his pocket to check the time, hating every second he had to be in that hospital because it just reminds him of so many bad things.-
- Covet: Felix was aslo in the room, with his Mom. They were both happy to hear that she was out of surgery and would be coming in soon. He had been pretty relaxed and casual the entire time for the surgery, mostly keeping himself busy by visiting the vending machine a lot, after finding out the cafeteria wasn't the greatest. He reached into his pocket and pulled out his house key with his spiffy keychain from Steph and handed it over to Rochelle, "Here, that's for when you head back to the house tonight. Don't forget to let the pups out before bed too, please." He added. // "I got it, did you want me to bring you or Steph anything for in the morning?" Rochelle asked taking the keys from him, "I could bring everyone breakfast, I think that's probably what is most needed around here, before you empty the vending machine."
- Alexithymiaa: -Bryan glanced up from his phone to look over at Rochelle, considering her offer. "Yeah, probably breakfast. I mean, I know we'll eat anything..." He said, gesturing between him and Felix. "...but if you can bring something for Steph to eat, she's definitely not going to eat whatever they serve in here. Eggs are usually a safe bet. No cheese, no salt. Not fried. Uhhh..." He paused, rustling his own hair with his fingers.-
- Covet: "And some fresh fruit would be good too." Felix said with another nod, "I'd be fine with donuts or something." he said with a shrug. // Rochelle nodded, "Alright, I can do that. Eggs aren't hard. I could do up breakfast burritos and just do her eggs on the side? Sound good to you boys?"
- Alexithymiaa: "Yeah, fruit." He said as he snapped his fingers at Felix, nodding. "That's fine. I don't really care, I'm not picky." He turned to look at the door when it opened, a couple of nurses wheeling in Steph's bed along with a rolling IV bag. She still had the oxygen mask over her face. Bryan tried to jump up to his feet, but he cant really do that so he sort of just staggered up from the couch, taking a few steps over to the bed. "Heyyy." // One of the nurses applied the brakes to the bed, getting everything situated in the room. "She's still on a lot of pain medication right now, so she'll be in and out for a while. If she wants to sleep, let her. I'll be back in a moment with some information for you." She said, both nurses turning to head out of the room.-
- Covet: Felix made his way over to Steph's bedside as they wheeled her in and slipped his hand into her's, looking down at her, "Hey Red, Good to see you on the other side." He spoke to her, hoping that'd help ease her, for whatever bit the medication didn't. // Rochelle stood at the foot of the bed , resting her hands on the frame as she just watched, being close for comfort and all that good concerning mom shit.
- Alexithymiaa: -Steph's eyes fluttered open and then closed again, her fingers giving him a very limp squeeze accompanied faint smile before her face fell again because groggy as fuck. // Bryan moved his hand to smooth her unruly hair, checking out what she was connected to and sort of just inspecting. "Relax. Everyones here for you. We're not going anywhere."-
- Covet: Smiling back at her, he gave her hand another squeeze while she lay there, "Yeah they gave you the good shit, You're not going to feel anything for a while." // Rochelle spoke up, with a positive happy tone to her voice, "You did really good Kiddo. I'm proud of you."
- Alexithymiaa: -Her head rolled to one side since she had such little control as it is, sort of just present. // Bryan shifted uncomfortable, putting his hand down on the side of the bed in an attempt to take some of his weight off one leg. "I wonder what they're sending her home with. Better be something decent." // The nurse walked in with a small packet of papers in her hand, looking around the room at the three of them. "Who am I giving post op instructions to?"-
- Covet: "That would be me." Felix said, not letting go of Steph's hand, but held his free one out for the information. // Rochell stepped back out of the way, but intended to listen in anyways because she'd be around to help Steph while Felix was at work.
- Alexithymiaa: "Me." Bryan spoke at the same time as Felix, narrowing his eyes on him. "Me." He repeated, looking to the nurse. // The nurse looked at both men, her eyes studying Bryan and then Felix before judging that Felix appeared to be the more responsible one and passed him the packet of information. "She'll be released tomorrow afternoon. You need to keep the knee completely dry until you come back for a recheck. The stitches will dissolve on their own as long as you keep the area dry and clean. We'll be sending you home with gauge and dressing which you'll change once a day, as well as hydrocodone to be taken as needed, no more than 4 pills in 24 hours. She is on strict bed rest only for the first week, and absolutely no pressure or weight should be applied to her right leg whatsoever until she is cleared by Dr. Greene. At that point she can start physical therapy. Every two hours, her knee should be iced and elevated for fifteen minutes." She paused. It's a lot of information and she wanted to make sure he was following.-
- Covet: Felix glared at Bryan, "Dude.. c'mon, you're not even staying at the house." He said then rolled his eyes as he took the information and listened to the nurse. "Alright, Would it be possible to get a doctor's note for a wheelchair rental? She's not one to be cooped up too much so at least that would give her the option of getting some fresh air during that first week, with supervision of course. It's kind of condusive to her mental health, through this process." Felix said, clearly having been doing some homework in order to make this more bearable for Steph. // Rochelle smiled at Felix's initiative, and was also entertained about how both guys seemed to butt heads. At least it was over something worthwhile and positive.
- Alexithymiaa: (This time, Rochelle. This time.)
- Covet: [Right? XD]
- Alexithymiaa: -Bryan set his jaw, turning to listen to the nurse because he intended to be there pretty much every waking moment anyway. This is why he was here. "I have one, you don't need to rent one." He said, waving Felix off and turning to the nurse. "Are they going to put her on post op antibiotics to prevent infection?" He asked her, trying to butt in. // The nurse nodded to Felix before looking at Bryan. "I can get a note if you need one, but if she's going to be in the wheelchair and going outside, Dr. Greene will insist the brace is on her knee for the first week. And yes, there will be an antibiotic to prevent infection. Administered with food, three times a day for seven days. This is all in that packet, but I like to make sure I go over everything with you first. Do you have any questions?" She asked, opening it up to the room.-
- Covet: Felix just kind of deadpanned stared at Bryan, because it was irritating him that he was adding his two sense too. "Alright, thanks?" Felix said throwing his free hand up for a second before he looked at the Nurse, "Of course. I'll make sure it's on. I appreciate you giving the debriefing." He said with a smile, "Couldn't hurt to get that note, just in case Bryan's doesn't work out as well for her." He was ust being a shit with that comment. // Rochelle cleared her throat, because now was not the time and place boys.
- Covet: *cents
- Covet: [Can't english]
- Alexithymiaa: "It'll work out fine." He spoke hastily, looking over at Rochelle when she cleared her throat. He wasnt stupid. He knew why. "Thanks I think we got it." He walked slowly over to the couch to take a seat down, extending his left 'leg' out in front of him because he was uncomfortable. "It's probably easier if you run around during the day and get shit for the house and for her since you're the only one with a car. I'll stay at the house with her." // Steph's eyes fluttered open again, her gaze a little hazy as she sort of just looked up at Felix blankly.-
- Covet: "Hey Red, Still here." He told her then rolled his eyes looking at Bryan, giving him that flat face, "The only time I'm leaving is if I'm at work, or something is needed. Other than that, Mom's going to be there to help her out too, and give her some much needed girl time, so I doubt you'll even need to be around that much dude. "Hell if it all goes good, You might be able to head back home early." // Rochelle spoke up, "I'll make sure you can get a few hours in to help your sister out, but she's going to be resting and sleeping a lot this first week anyways. So since I'm already staying at the house, it's not that big of a deal for me to step in, plus, it gives you time to visit with your family too." She told Bryan.
- Alexithymiaa: -The nurse was already done listening to them argue over who was doing what. "Right... so if you have no more questions, I'll leave you to it. Ring if you need anything else, otherwise I'll be back in about an hour." She spoke, turning to walk out of the room and close the door behind her. // Bryan scoffed. "First of all, it's expensive to change a flight. Second, this is why I came out here so I intend to help out and make sure everything goes well." He frowned, trying not to be mean to Rochelle because she clearly has good intentions, but it's Bryan. "This is my family." He spoke, pointing at Steph. I don't have much, and I saw my dad today for Father's Day. She's my only concern right now."-
- Covet: "Thanks" Felix said to the nurse and took a deep breath. "Look, I'm going to level with you dude. I appreciate everything that you've done, with all of this. Clearly this is something that's going to take more than one person, so you're a very important part of this process. My only issue is that, where I know you force this shit on her for her own well being, because you car, you kind of forget, or neclect to care about her feelings. And That's kind of shocking considering you know all the shit she's been through, and the kind of toll that can take on a person mentally. I get the idea of tough love, but when you're only doing half of the work, you're only going to get half the effort. Which is why she doesn't tell you shit when she does. I know she's earned this sort of treatment from you, to a point, but there's gotta be another one where she can start to feel like adult again. Which is why I'm trying to limit your time at the house with her while she's recovering, because you stress her out, dude. And that's only going to make all of this take longer." He said in the calmest tone he could muster, for Steph's sake, even though, it was some pretty honest shit. // Rochelle clapped her hands together real quick, intending to give them a moment, "I'm going to go take a quick bathroom break, and grab some tea, don't turn this room into an ER suite while I'm gone."
- Covet: *care
- Covet: *tell you shit when she should
- Alexithymiaa: "I'm not going to do anything the doctor or the nurse hasnt advised. I've been the one to take care of her since we were kids and I'm not going to stop now just because you're around to help. You want to be the good cop? That's fine. Everyone knows the bad cop is the one that gets shit done. There's a reason I'm her health proxy and you're not going to stop me from helping out. I may be down a limb, but that's not going to stop me from shoving my foot up your ass if you get in my way." He said significantly less calm than Felix had, his eyes snapping to Rochelle when she clapped her hands together. "ER's are for people who arent DOA..." He mumbled under his breath.-
- Covet: "I'm not saying you can't help!" Felix told him loudly. "But the best way you can help is to not be an overbearing asshole brother, who has complete control of her medical life. You want to talk about getting shit done? I haven't been some nice guy just telling her everythign's going to be alright, and coddling her like some baby. Do you know how much coaching it's taken me to get her to feel comfortable enough to walk in here without completely losing her shit and being sedated at the god damn entrance? It's easy for you to just be this asshole who's here to "help" because you don't see the progress she's made in the last eight months. Hell in the last two. I don't hold that against you because you have a life, and you're busy living it. So then let her live hers too. At least little bit by little bit. You're her health proxy because your parents are shitty parents and couldn't be trusted to step up, and the guy she was with before now can't be fucked to pull his own head out let alone look out for someone he supposedly loved. If you fully intend to keep being her health proxy for the rest of her life, then you need to do some serious reevaluation of your actions, because what you're doing is effecting her mental health negatively, regardless if it's helping her physical health, then you aren't exactly doing your job are you? I'm not saying sugar coat shit, I'm saying think about her feelings, not just about her injuries, and give her a little bit length on her leash, beacuse she's earned at least that much by now, and I'll vouch for her." Felix said walking towards Bryan as he got more heated, then he went for the chair and pushed it over close to the bed so that he could sit next to Steph comfortably, and turn his back to Bryan.
- Covet: *because if
- Alexithymiaa: "I gave her a bit of length on her leash when I trusted her enough for me to move to New York and not be here all the time to look after her. I trusted her, and I trusted you to keep me in the loop and make sure everything was okay. And where did we end up?" He asked, throwing his arms out on either side of him. "Right back where we started. So now we get to start over beecause we didn't follow doctor's instructions in the first place. So you want to take care of her and pretend to be the hero? That's fine. Whatever helps you sleep at night, but that doesn't mean I'm not going to oversee everything regardless of where I live and when she proves to me she can follow doctor's instructions and be honest, then we'll work up to some trust again." He snapped, swinging his 'legs' up onto the couch and crossing his arms over his chest with a grumpy pout. "I've got the couch."-
- Covet: Felix set his jaw and reached up intentionally turning his hearing aid off midway through Bryan's talking because he was done and he meant it. He brought Steph's hand to his mouth and gave it a kiss, just watching her instead, sad he couldn't turn her ears off too, though he figured the medication was keeping her from paying attention to too much of what was being said between them.
