  1. >How long have you been on this bus?
  2. >With a quick check of your phone, the clock reads 6:14 pm
  3. >Great, nearly 6 hours. It feels like 6 days. Why does your uncle have to live so far away?
  4. >You should have seen this coming. The cold and distant stares day after day, year after year. It was only a mater of time that your parents would send you away.
  5. ~~~~~~~~~~~~
  6. *knock knock*
  7. >"Anon?" Your recognize your father's voice through the door.
  8. "Come in."
  9. >The house is pretty old, so the door swings open with a creak
  10. >"Your mother and I have talked about it and we've decided you should live with your uncle. We believe you should be taught how a business is run, and there's no one better to teach you."
  11. >You spin around in your chair with a confused look on your face
  12. "I'm sorry, what? You wan't to run that by me one more time?"
  13. >You can't wrap your mind around what came out of his mouth
  14. >"Your father believes this is an opportunity that shouldn't be passed up
  15. >You lose it
  16. "Father? Ha! You STRANGERS have been giving me the cold shoulder ever since she died! What? Do you BLAME ME or something?"
  17. >a flash of pain shows through their eyes and just like that you feel guilty as hell.
  18. >You don't know where that came from
  19. "I'm sor-"
  20. >"I've arranged for you to stay with my brother, now get your things and go"
  21. >Brother? You didn't know he had a brother. You thought it was just him and aunt Naomi
  22. >After an hour of packing, you see your mother standing by the door. An apology is in order.
  23. "I didn't mean to bring her up like that. I know how much she meant to you guys. To everyone. If there's anything I can do..."
  24. >She looks up to you with red eyes, clearly she had been crying.
  25. >"Just... just go."
  26. >As you walk to the front door, you notice your father staring at you intently
  27. >You stare at each other for a minute before he walks up to you and envelops you in a hug which you return
  28. >"Of course, we don't blame you. We love you and nothing can change that. We really do think this is a good opportunity. Make the best of it, okay?"
  29. >You nod your head and walk the door to the can waiting outside.
  30.
  31. ~~~~~~~~~~~~
  32. >Now that you think about it, you've never even heard of an uncle that lived in Virginia.
  33. >Nothing to do now but wait
  34. >You close your eyes and drift off to sleep.
  35.
  36.
  37.
  38. >The sound of air brakes bring you to realm of consciousness.
  39. >You look out the window to find an attractive, young woman with a shock of light green hair holding a sign with your name on it.
  40. >Next to her, a tall man with short, graying hair wearing what looked to be a very expensive suit stood with his arms crossed.
  41. >As you approach, his already present smirk only grows
  42. >"Hello, you must be Anon. Your father has told me much about you. I am your uncle Henry. Please follow me. Lyra please take my nephew's suitcase."
  43. >"Y-yes sir"
  44. >She turns to to pick up the luggage but is obviously having a lot of trouble.
  45. "Maybe I should take that"
  46. >Henry turns to look at you.
  47. >"No need for that. It is a servants's job to do what their master commands. Now let's go."
  48. >Lyra, already red in the face from exertion, simply smiles at you and waves you off.
  49. >As you leave the depot, a driver opens the door and you and Henry step in. Out of the corner of your eye, Lyra is dragging the bag behind you.
  50. >The drive is a long one, so you attempt to fill the void with conversation.
  51. "So... uh... what do you do, uncle Henry?"
  52. >"I am a CFO to a very large company"
  53. "Can you be a bit more specific"
  54. >He leans back in his seat and sighs softly.
  55. >"Let's just say I count the money and make sure the idiots upstairs don't spend all of it."
  56. >You realize that's all you're going to get out of him so you turn to the woman next to you.
  57. "Lyra, right? So tell me about yourself."
  58. "Thanks for asking! I-"
  59. >Henry interrupts
  60. "She's the Help. She's not worth it."
  61. >With that bit of insight into your newly acquainted uncle's character, the car is deathly quiet.
  62. >A quick glance to Lyra's long-suffering visage shows this a common thing
  63. >Yeah, this drive is definitely gonna be a long one.
  64.
  65.
  66.
  67.
  68. >"Honey, maybe you shouldn't drive so fast"
  69. >Your father, Travis, waves his hand dismissively
  70. >"Sylvia, it's fine. We're late enough as it is
  71. >You stare out the window watching the countryside. A Deer Crossing sign whizzes by.
  72. >"She's right, Dad. We don't have to be there for another 30 minutes." Your sister, Jeane pipes in cautiously.
  73. >"But we do have to get everything ready before the guests get there." Your father chimes in while turning slightly.
  74. "WATCH THE ROAD!"
  75. >A deer stands right in the middle of the road. Frozen in fear.
  76. >Your father swerves to avoid it, but it's as if you were destined to crash. A few yards ahead, a fallen tree lies in the road.
  77. >CRASH!
  78. >You come to while laying in the grass
  79. >A quick look to your right shows your parents unconscious forms
  80. >"Anon, help me!"
  81. >Behind you lies the the burning wreckage of what was once a very nice car.
  82. >And inside...
  83. "Jeane?!"
  84. >You rush up to the car
  85. "Release the seatbelt"
  86. >"I can't! It's stuck!
  87. >The flames have engulfed the entire car. There's nothing you can do.
  88. >"Anon? Anon! Help me, please! ANON!
  89. ~~~~~~~~~~~~
  90. >"Anon? Anon, wake up, we're here.
  91. >You open your eyes to find Lyra's own amber eyes staring back at you and behind her, a huge 2 story estate. Much bigger than you thought it would be.
  92. >Henry, off to the side, walks up to you.
  93. >"Welcome home"
  94. >With that he turns and walks up the stairs.
  95. >Well... here goes nothing.
  96.
  97.
  98.
  99.
  100. >As Henry walks up the stairs, another maid opens the large double doors.
  101. >"Bonnie, help her with that suitcase then tend to whatever my nephew needs to feel comfortable."
  102. >"Yes sir."
  103. >You cluelessly watch as Lyra hefts your suitcase out of the trunk.
  104. >"No, it's *grunts* fine. I g-got it."
  105. >The maid you overheard named Bonnie approaches.
  106. >"Lyra, let me help you with that," concern shows on her face as she leans over to help Lyra.
  107. >"Fine... get this side. Anon, follow us"
  108. >You're led to a luxurious room on the second floor, where you begin to place personal things around. With your stuff settled, you turn to your maids.
  109. >"Hello master Ymous! My name is Bonnie and you've already met Lyra. Do you need anything?
  110. >You take a moment to look at the women in front of you.
  111. >To your left is Lyra, dressed in a maid uniform that's surprisingly... decent. It's nothing like how those porn movi- you're getting off track. She's shorter than you, with her eyes being at your chin's level. Her mint green hair and golden eyes a welcome change to her monochrome maid outfit.
  112. >To your right is Bonnie, wearing the same outfit as Lyra, although, her more... full figure allows it to fit better. She's a bit taller too, at about eye level. Her strange blue & pink hair remind of the candy you ate a lot of when you were younger. Her expectant gaze brings you out of your reverie.
  113. "Uh... I'm pretty hungry, I guess"
  114. >"I'll get right on that"
  115. >With a smile Bonnie curtsies and leaves the room.
  116. >When Bonnie is out of earshot, Lyra gives you a malicious smirk
  117. >"I saw you gawking at us. Be careful, Master Anon," you can feel the sarcasm dripping off her tongue "she's MINE."
  118. >Lyra departs the room and you're left with your thoughts.
  119. >You give a small chuckle to nobody in particular.
  120. "This might not be that bad."
  121.
  122.
  123.
  124.
  125.
  126. >*knock knock*
  127. >"Master Anon, your dinner is ready." Bonnie's voice is muffled by the door.
  128. >Dinner? With all that's happened today, you hadn't even realized it was already nighttime.
  129. "Ok, I'll be right down"
  130. >You descend the stairs and quickly realize you have NO idea how to get around this labyrinth of a mansion.
  131. >You open the nearest door to show a gym. You decide to spend a little time in here sometime.
  132. >You move the door across the hall.
  133. >When you open the heavy door, you see your uncle behind a large, ornate desk. Many carvings adorn the desk featuring animals ending with a lion on both ends.
  134. >Henry looks up from his paperwork and gives you smile that seems... fake.
  135. >"I'm glad you stopped by, Anon. Let's talk."
  136. >You step closer and take a seat in one of the leather chairs in front of your uncle. That Smile persists.
  137. "So what did you need?"
  138. >"I want to know what happened... 7 years ago.
  139. >You're speechless, how would he... he's family, despite not being close, it's not surprising that he knows about this.
  140. "It's my fault, I couldn't save my sister"
  141. >Henry raises an eyebrow at this
  142. >"To my knowledge, the car was on fire. What could you do?
  143. "For years I told myself 'there was nothing you could do stop it' or 'you couldn't have save her' but that's not true.
  144. >"How so?"
  145. ~~~~~~~~~~~~
  146. >"Anon? Anon! Help me, please! ANON!
  147. >You just continue to stare at the disaster in front of you
  148. >Jeane begins pulling at the seatbelt. Eventually it gives way and she falls to the roof. She reaches out to you.
  149. >"Anon, help! Pull me out!
  150. >You try but your body just won't move
  151. "I- I can't."
  152. >"What?"
  153. "I'm sorry. I'm so sorry"
  154. >You start to back away, tears in your eyes
  155. >"ANON-
  156. >BOOM!
  157. >The sudden explosion knocks you off your feet
  158. >You sit up and can only watch the flames until the authorities arrive
  159. ~~~~~~~~~~~~
  160.
  161.
  162.
  163. >"I... see. I'm sorry you went through such a traumatic experience. On a more uh.. positive subject, how is your stay here so far?
  164. "It's been good. Everyone's nice and I love my room.
  165. >"Good Good. Well if you excuse me I need to get back to my paperwork." He says as he looks back down
  166. "Yeah, sure."
  167. >You stand up and depart the office. As you close the door, you notice Bonnie standing there with tears nearly spilling out of eyes
  168. "Bonnie, I-"
  169. >She envelops you in a hug and presses your head into her shoulder
  170. >You wrap your hands around her waist and pull her a little closer to you...
  171. >Either she knew what you were up to or it was bad timing, Lyra comes around the corner and Bonnie breaks the hug
  172. >"Didn't you hear? Your food's ready."
  173. >Bonnie is the first to leave
  174. >"We'll talk later, ok?"
  175. >Lyra draws your attention
  176. "Your foods in the dining room, SIR"
  177. >There's that tone again
  178. "Uhh...
  179. >"You don't know where that is, do you?"
  180. >Your unsure gaze answers her question
  181. >"Fine, follow me"
  182. >You sit down at at long wooden table
  183. >Your meal is a delicious looking steak covered in gravy with mashed potatoes and peas. Breadsticks lie next to the plate.
  184. "This looks great! Tell Bonnie I said thanks."
  185. >"I made it, Anon"
  186. "You? But Bonnie said she'd take care it"
  187. >"Prepare the utensils maybe, but she's a disaster in the kitchen"
  188. >You're only half paying attention as you dive into the food
  189. >"I saw you, you know."
  190. >You choke on your food a bit and try to put on your best innocent face
  191. "Whatever do you mean, dear Lyra?"
  192. >She just chuckles and walks away
  193. >"Goodnight, MASTER Anon"
  194. >You finish your food and retire to your bedroom for a good night's sleep.
  195. >Lyra weighs heavily on your mind. You're probably gonna have to watch your back. There's something about her that you just can't put your finger on.
  196.
  197.
  198.
  199. >"This is Mr. Elite and King Konverse on 102.6 jamz. It's 6 AM on this warm Wednesday mor-
  200. >You slam the Snooze button of your alarm clock and hop out bed
  201. >You throw on a t-shirt and some track pants and head outside
  202. >When you get to the front gate you look up and down the street. You had a route to run back home, but seeing as you're in unfamiliar territory here you decide to run until you get tired and come back
  203. >About a 20 minutes into your jog, green hair comes into your periphery
  204. >"Heya, stranger!"
  205. "Are you following me?"
  206. >She gives you an incredulous look and scoffs
  207. >"Hah! you wish. I saw you huffing down the street, I thought I'd bless you with my company.
  208. "Bless me? If your ego was any bigger, you'd be your own continent. Also, FYI, I wasn't huffing, I can run twice this distance no problem.
  209. >"Is that right, Anon? How about a race to that barn? First one there gets a massage from the loser."
  210. >You were on the track team in high school. Some girl with an ego doesn't have a chance.
  211. >"Ready? Go!"
  212. >And just like you were off.
  213. >You look back to gloat only to find she wasn't there.
  214. >You face forward to find her AHEAD of you. She's surprisingly quick on your feet.
  215. >You push it to catch up to her. It's neck and neck now.
  216. >If you lose now you'll never hear the end of it.
  217. >You give it all you got and with that little extra speed you move past her just in time to cross the finish line.
  218. >The look of surprise on her face makes victory that much sweeter.
  219. >"I- I lost?!"
  220. "Damn right!"
  221. >"F-fine you beat me. Now let's get back to the house"
  222. >Trying to weasel out of a bet? You don't think so.
  223. "OH MAN! MY MUSCLES SURE ARE SORE" you yell to get your obvious intentions across.
  224. >"I was just joking, M-master"
  225. "Don't try that 'master' shit with me, a bet is a bet."
  226. >She groans audibly
  227. >"Fine. Let's just get this over with."
  228.
  229.
  230.
  231. >You lean up against the old barn which served as your finish line to catch your breath.
  232. "So who's barn is this?"
  233. >"It belonged to Mr. Furguson, but he put it up for sale a month ago. No one's bought it yet though." She opens the door and looks at you with a ticked expression on her face, "Are we doing this, or what?"
  234. >Far be it for you to turn down your prize
  235. "Lead the way"
  236. >Once you enter, you give the place a once over. Some old farm equipment lay in the left corner while hay bales are tossed haphazardly in the right. You decide to make them an impromptu bed.
  237. >You decide to milk this for all it's worth so you put on your best posh accent.
  238. "Lyra, dear, make me a bed fit for a king"
  239. >"How about I make you a knuckle sandwich?"
  240. "Care to repeat that, Lyra?"
  241. >"Me? I didn't say anything."
  242. >Your glance tells her you obviously don't believe her but you lie face down on the makeshift bed anyway.
  243. >A quick wave of your hand tells her to begin
  244. >With your signal she digs in to your shoulder. In seconds you're completely relaxed. You're quite surprised that Lyra has hidden talents all over the place. She eventually breaks your train of thought when she begins talking
  245. >"So, Anon, tell me a bit about yourself."
  246. >You glance up at your masseuse, a bit surprised that she'd actually inquire to your life prior to coming to your uncle's estate
  247. "Hmm... not much to tell. I'm 17 turning 18 in a few days. I had an average life at home, a few close friends, and I was on the track team in school.
  248. >At that, Lyra chuckles
  249. >"That explains it"
  250. >You allow a small smile to cross your face, that is until you hear a small exclamation of pain behind you.
  251. >With a quick look behind you, you see Lyra clutching her calf
  252. "What's wrong?"
  253. >"Nothing, just a leg cramp. I'll be fine."
  254. >What kind of man would you be if just let her be. Suddenly, you get off the hay bales.
  255. "Lay down. I'll massage it for you."
  256. >"Forget it, I said I was fine.
  257. "I'm not taking no for an answer"
  258. >"Fine. How about 'Hell no'?"
  259. >Was she designed just to get on your nerves?
  260. "As your employer's nephew, I order you to lay down"
  261. >The look on her face shows she's not amused by your antics, but she does so anyway.
  262.
  263.
  264.
  265.
  266.
  267. >You start on her injured leg, softly at first but adding pressure over time
  268. >"That's the spot. Thanks, Anon"
  269. "That's MASTER Anon to you"
  270. >"You wish"
  271. >A smile appears on your face. Headstrong 'til the end.
  272. >You continue the massage while moving up her legs.
  273. >With her laying right in front of her, you have a better chance to examine her
  274. >Her legs, while athletic, are still very feminine and very soft. You move your hands up further still...
  275. >"Heh... watch yourself, playboy"
  276. >You back off for now and move to her back, moving higher and higher until you got to her shoulder blades
  277. >"MMMMmmmmmmmmm"
  278. >Was... was that a moan?
  279. "What was that?
  280. >A blush quickly appears on her face
  281. >You continue on her shoulder blades and sure enough she's started breathing a bit more heavily. Oh, this is perfect!
  282. "You okay down there?"
  283. >"Y-yeah. I-I'm *moan* fine"
  284. "You sure?"
  285. >You continue the assault on her shoulder blades and soon enough...
  286. >"A-anon we should s-stop. My l-leg is *moan* better n-now.
  287. >You decide to feign ignorance and keep going
  288. "No no it's okay. I want you to get the FULL treatment.
  289. >She's squirming under your hands. Not much longer now.
  290. >"A-anon I-"
  291. "I said call me 'MASTER Anon' and I might stop"
  292. >"hnnn *pant pant* n-no ch-chance"
  293. >A particularly sharp push makes her bite down on her lip to silence anymore sound
  294. >You've had enough fun, it's time to finish this
  295. >You double your efforts
  296. >Just a little more and...
  297. >"AnoaaaaaAAAAAAAAAAHHH!!
  298. >Booms goes the dynamite.
  299.
  300.
  301.
  302. Lyra, still panting leans off the hay bale and stands up. The growing dark spot in her sweatpants confirms a job well done.
  303. >She can't meet your gaze. The deep blush across her face and the uncertain way she holds herself are adorable.
  304. >"Anon, I..."
  305. >You raise your hand to silence her
  306. "Don't worry about it. It happens."
  307. >Your excuse only annoys her
  308. >"No it doesn't"
  309. *laughing* You're right it doesn't"
  310. >"It's not funny, Anon"
  311. >Still laughing, you have a seat on the old tractor by the door
  312. "I beg to differ"
  313. >Your laughter is infectious as it spreads to Lyra, who begins to crack a smile
  314. >Soon enough, you both are busting a gut
  315. >"Heh, y'know Anon, I think I was wrong abo-
  316. >Lyra's sentence would have to wait because just then, a titan of a man wearing a flannel shirt and jeans burst into the barn with a double-barreled shotgun in his hand
  317. >"What the hell is goin' on here?!"
  318. >The sudden intrusion surprises you both as you fumble off the tractor to explain the situation
  319. "We uhh... we were jogging and decided to rest here, sorry"
  320. >He lowers the gun and you both release a breath you didn't know you were holding
  321. >"Does my barn say 'joggers welcome, feel free to come in and screw up my equipment' on it?"
  322. "N-no sir, it won't happen again"
  323. >He cracks a smile and starts to laugh, after a few seconds Lyra joins in too
  324. >The confusion must have been evident on your face
  325. >"Don't worry, son. You ain't in no trouble. Lyra stops by here every few days. Name's Mac Furguson"
  326. "Uh... my names Anon, Anon Ymous.
  327. >Lyra decides to give her 2 cents
  328. >"You should've seen your face! it was all 'oh no! please don't shoot me.' Is that smell from the fertilizer or you? HAHAHA"
  329. >After being thoroughly ridiculed, you all exit the barn
  330. >"See y'all later. Remember y'all are welcome to my farm anytime. Just turn left at the 'Sweet Apple Acres' sign.
  331. >You turn a give a wave
  332. "Will do"
  333. >"Before I forget..."
  334. >Both you and Lyra turn to face Mac
  335. >"...next time you two want to do your dirty business, don't do it in my barn"
  336. >Blushes fill both your faces as you walk away a little faster than usual
  337. >But still, you can't help but notice that Lyra is walking a little closer to you...
  338.
  339.
  340.
  341.
  342. While walking back, you decide to strike up a conversation
  343. "So Lyra, you asked about me, but I never got to know anything about you
  344. >"Master Anon wants to hear about little ol' me? I'm honored."
  345. >You roll your eyes at her obvious sarcasm
  346. >"Same for me, not much to tell. I'm 19 and I'm an only child. I was captain of the soccer team in high school.
  347. >She seemed particularly proud of that
  348. >"I've lived in Virginia all my life. So has Bonbon."
  349. "Bonbon?"
  350. >"Yeah, that's my little nickname for her. She doesn't like it, but I think it's cute the way her nose scrunches up when I call her that."
  351. >You nod your head at this tidbit of information. Suddenly, a thought that's been bothering you pops into your head.
  352. "Why are you so defensive about Bonnie?"
  353. >Lyra suddenly stops walking and you turn to face her
  354. "Something wrong?"
  355. >"No, it's just... Bonbon is really important to me, ok?
  356. "No, I get it. How do you two know each other?"
  357. >"We uh... we've been together since we were kids. We were always there for each other. Whether it's some jerk bothering her or some chick and her friends got in my face, We've got each other's back.
  358. >You can respect that. They sound like they were inseparable. Wait a second...
  359. "Bonnie can fight?!"
  360. >"You better believe it! She's been practicing karate for 8 years now."
  361. >You can't believe it. BONBON of all people can kick some ass! Beware the nice ones...
  362. "...So what was that 'she's mine' thing about yesterday?"
  363. >Lyra remembers the incident in question and looks down
  364. >"Oh that? I might've judged you a bit too soon. Ya see, a guy hurt Bonbon real bad a few years ago. She was sad for a long, long time. I'll make sure that won't happen ever again...
  365. "...You like her don't you?
  366. >Lyra can only stutter and blush
  367. >You chuckle and pull her close
  368. >You notice she doesn't object to you touching her
  369. "Don't worry it's our little secret"
  370.
  371. ~~~~~~~~~~~~
  372. >Back at the estate, Henry sits in his office with a phone held to his ear
  373. >"Mr. Gibson's spending is getting a little outrageous. If he keeps this up, people will start to wonder where he's getting this much money"
  374. >"We should've known he would react like this. He gets a little money, and the fool thinks he's on top of the world"
  375. >"What would you like us to do about this, Sir?"
  376. >Henry drags his hand down his face
  377. >"Continue as planned, we can't let something like this drag us down
  378. >"What about Gibson, Sir?"
  379. >"...Send Mr. Freeman to my residence. We'll discuss the issue here"
  380. >"Freeman? Is that really necessary, sir? I mean he-"
  381. >"Are you questioning me? I gave you your orders, Michael"
  382. >"...Y-yes sir" *click*
  383. >With the cryptic conversation over, Henry propped his elbows on the desk and rested his chin on his hands
  384. >" *sigh* I can't afford ANY loose ends"
  385.
  386.
  387.
  388. ~~~~~~~~~~~~
  389. Both you and Lyra enter the kitchen and spot Bonbon in front of the refrigerator
  390. >Lyra steps forward
  391. >Bonbon quickly turns and places the eggs and milk behind her back
  392. >"I'M NOT DOING ANYTHING!"
  393. "Bonbon, you know you're banned from the kitchen. We don't need a repeat of what happened in '09."
  394. >They both bow their heads
  395. >"Those poor children..."
  396. >You suddenly feel out of the loop so you move to grab a bottle of water on the table
  397. >"So you go jogging too, Anon?"
  398. >At the sound of your name, you turn to face the duo
  399. "Yeah, I used to jog around my block every morning. What about you?"
  400. >"Me? Oh no, I'm fine with my yoga
  401. >Lyra chimes in
  402. >"Yeah, she's SUPER flexible"
  403. >"LYRA!"
  404. >Choirs begin singing in your head
  405. "Really? You've got to teach me some time"
  406. >Lyra is somewhat disapproving of your approach but stays quiet
  407. >"I'd love to"
  408. >It gets quiet as you and Bonbon share a gaze. That is, until Lyra breaks the silence
  409. >"WOOO! You need a shower, Anon!"
  410. >Thanks, Lyra...
  411. >She shoves you out of the kitchen
  412. >Bonbon starts reaching for the butter...
  413. >"BONBON!"
  414. >"Yeah, okay"
  415. >Bonbon starts putting everything back
  416. >You and Lyra walk through the long hallway when she suddenly walks in front of you and turns around
  417. >"What was THAT?"
  418. "What?"
  419. >"What do you mean 'what'? I told you I'm trying to protect her. Besides, you already know that I..."
  420. >She looks away before she finishes that statement
  421. "I know. I get that."
  422. >She looks up to you, anger evident on her face
  423. >"Then WHY? Why are you doing this? You know she can't be some cheap fuck you can use once and throw away. So just please don't do this!"
  424. >At this point, tears are welling up in her eyes, but she wipes them away as quickly as they appear
  425. >You grab Lyra's shoulders and look her dead in the eye.
  426. "It's just a little harmless flirting. Besides, She doesn't even think of me like that. Trust me. I won't hurt her."
  427. >You release her and walk past her and into the bathroom
  428. >Lyra looks to the floor in disdain
  429. >"hmpf! Trust..."
