(04:26:19 PM) irmisse@hotmail.com: Many layers of recycled newspapers have been expertly crafted into this perfectly circular paper-mache shield, making it lightweight and surprisingly strong. The entire surface of the shield, both front and back, has been carefully smoothed and then coated in a transparent lacquer with a lovely hint of forest green. An intriguing mottling of black, grey, and white is visible through the coating, and on closer inspection the words and images of an assortment of newspaper articles can be made out. On the back, part of the paper mache protrudes and forms a pair of rings, ready to attach the shield's strap to. A bit of thick vine has been fastened to these rings, and is able to be replaced as needed.
