- Jar of Bees
- INGREDIENTS:
- 1 part Ichor
- 1 part Honey
- 1 part Water
- 16 grams of white sugar
- 8 dandelion heads
- 8 sunflower petals
- 8 sunflower seeds
- 4 rose petals
- 4 wildflowers of any kind
- I honestly don't know what I expected to make, when I first started experimenting with this combination. Bees, of course, were part of the plan; but I was hoping, perhaps, to make some manner of bee attractant that might be of some use to farmers. Yet, to my surprise, as I continued to add ingredients, it took a particular... striped form. Then, as the last of the wildflower heads tumbled into the jar, I saw one little body spring out in its place, and I nearly swept everything off of my counter looking for the cork.
- Wise, I was.
- The entire jar flooded with buzzing insects mere moments after I secured the cork... and I decided to clamp it on. You know, just in case.
- Never before have I witnessed such an inconsolable group of insects. I worried that they might buzz with such fury that it would vibrate the bottle off the counter. Curious that they would be filled with so much rage despite knowing no suffering and nothing at all, in fact, but wherever the source of their anger, it is most certainly present. Of no use to beekeepers for their rebellious nature, there is still a case to be made for the value of a laboratory source for bees... provided you've got a sure grip and no allergies to bee venom. Oh, makes a great weapon in a pinch, too.
- Perhaps they need a hive, or a queen, to be assigned to. Needs more research.
