- [10:51] Nelly Einhardt asks, "Oh, Hello. You were at the Technomancer meeting, right?"
- [10:51] Bruno pyr Aertas says, "I was."
- [10:52] Nelly Einhardt says, "Well it's nice to see you again..."
- [10:52] She couldn't remember his name. Though maybe he didn't say it.
- (Nelly Einhardt)
- --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
- [10:53] Bruno offered but a nod to her words.
- "Are you here to help the cause?"
- (Bruno pyr Aertas)
- --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
- [10:53] Nelly Einhardt says, "At the moment. I'm helping myself and Nathan. I have a lot of expenenses. Later today I was going to look into Primordials."
- [10:53] Bruno pyr Aertas says, "I see."
- [10:53] Bruno pyr Aertas asks, "Are you.. family?"
- [10:56] Nelly ran a hand through her hair letting it fall to the side of her face as she shook it out. "I am a citizen of Achyon. I intend to help achieve our goals. Though I have a few more goals... is that bad? People seem to only be about one thing, and for me..." She looked down nervously.
- "I don't know. I can't be of use if I don't also achieve my goals. Besides the research that would be gained from helping me would be benefical to not only this project, but also future projects to do with improving human's mana capacity."
- (Nelly Einhardt)
- --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
- [10:59] While his question was far from answered another issue of hers was spoken of. Bruno held but a blank, perhaps a tad judging expression as Nelly nervously stammered through her thoughts.
- "I believe Achyon's purpose can only come to light if we each make our own advancements in technology. Combining our research and creations is likely the best path to ensure the case of the Primordial is properly handled."
- A statement like this one carried both a similar idea as Nelly's own thoughts, yet wouldn't outright affirm them. That is until Bruno spoke again.
- "I do not believe your methods are wrong. You merely seem afraid of the opinion of the non-believers."
- (Bruno pyr Aertas)
- --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
- [11:02] She looked at him with a strange questioning look. "Non-believers? I'm not sure I follow. Wait..." She hit ran her hands furiously through her hair in frustration.
- "Is this because of the nonsense Ryker was spewing? Trust me. He is misguided in what I believe and want." She shook her head. Of course he was making more headaches for her by spreading lies. "Ryker misguided a situation."
- (Nelly Einhardt)
- --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
- [11:04] "No. I am simply refering to those who do not believe the advancement of humanity wil come through technology." Bruno said, blue eyes staring down Nelly for quite a bit as a silence from him would settle, only to be broken after far too long.
- "You truly are too concerned with what people say about you."
- (Bruno pyr Aertas)
- --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
- [11:08] Nelly let out a sigh. "I just don't want trouble to come from needless things. It will hinder progress of things I want in the future if people have a bad view of me." Taking a deep breath she assumed a neutral analytical look.
- "I believe that technology will help me modify my body and become closer to water magic than anyone else." She couldn't help herself a wide crazed smile cracked her face. "Then I will become one with my goddess. A water spirit who saved my life. I will bind her soul to mine and become that much stronger." She was blushing lightly talking about it before she clamed herself once more returning to neutral.
- "What about you? What are your goals? Maybe we could help each other?"
- (Nelly Einhardt)
- --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
- [11:12] The rollercoaster of emotions displayed upon Nelly's face was one Bruno could hardly keep with, though he did manage to take in the words that were spoken to him. And of course that rather.. disorienting smile.
- "I am unsure that becoming one with a spirit is a sensible idea. With primordials on the way to be disrupted, spirits may come next."
- His thoughts shared, Bruno glanced off to the side briefly when the mention of his own goals was brought forth. A tinge of regret and self-deprication was born upon his expression.
- "My grandfather taught me that humanity is flawed. Mankind's weaknesses can be fixed through the use of technology. I wish to complete his work through my craft.
- I intend to meet the expectations set upon me. That's all."
- (Bruno pyr Aertas)
- --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
- [11:16] Nelly offered a hand out to Bruno. "Then we have a similar goal. I will keep you updated on my... well Nathan's experimentation on my body. I've been thinking of ways to improve my mana veins, but honestly it comes down to Nathan. If you have any ideas let me know. I may fuse a material to them... I'm unsure." Seemed she was already willing to let Bruno take her apart. Though honestly it probably had more to do with her obsession than anything else.
- "As well... the Alabstre mission can only have so many people attend, or it'll get to dangerous. I can reserve a spot for you since I'm the only one who knows the location at this time."
- (Nelly Einhardt)
- --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
- [11:22] Bruno looked down towards the hand for a few moments before he reached out to shake it. He felt a tad odd for it, that much could be seen upon his face.
- "Mana circuits are the very thing I've based my research upon. For one to be united with technology on a level like never before would require both them and their 'upgrade' to share and fuse their systems. Fusing a material to your circuits seems foolish; you would likely be better off finding a creation with a purpose and aligning your circuitry with its own." The Aertas commented, finally releasing Nelly's hand.
- "If you are a willing participant I am certain I could make use of your physical contribution to my craft."
- (Bruno pyr Aertas)
- --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
- [11:27] Nelly nodded. "I'm willing to see what you have. Me and Nathan were talking about replacing my body with a medium that was more suited to water. Some sort of liquid crafted from technology. He seemed confident I'm not all to perfect at explaining. Though I wouldn't mind any augmentation you would have to offer as long as it won't taint my water magic I would be happy to offer my form." Looking Bruno up and down she tried analyzing exactly what he was.
- It would be a long road and he certainly could help and Nelly was willing to be extremely reckless. Though if anything in her mind made her think she was moving away from water magic she would most likely say no.
- "As free form as possible. Water mana tends to flow better when something isn't stagnant."
- (Nelly Einhardt)
- --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
- [11:33] "I have great doubts it would affect your ability to use water magic in any shape or form." The Aertas said, tilting his head lightly as Nelly seemed to be eyeing him up a bit more than was proper. A light shade of pink grew upon his face, his blue gaze drifting away. He felt... ashamed, almost. Though the reason for such would certainly be left unknown in the current moment.
- "So long as your body keeps a circuitry, it should be able to be enhanced. It will, however, take a number of experiments to reach the level I intend to reach."
- A long pause followed as he regained his composure. The teenager's blue gaze shifted back upon Nelly's own, hoping she was done taking a gander at his very human form.
- "It will hurt, however. Be warned."
- (Bruno pyr Aertas)
- --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
- [11:39] Nelly looked to his face pausing lightly. "Pain is meaningless. I had my arm broken a few days ago. Luckily I had an experienced doctor their to fix it." She straightens out her clothes pulling on the brims and ordering herself.
- "I don't mind how long the road or how painful. If my circuitry and soul need to be rended from my body then that's what it takes. Nothing is beyond what I can handle to achieve my goal." She was just looking at him plainly. There was no shadow of doubt in her even though she already experienced someone snapping her arm like twig. She would through herself into that and worse if it meant achieving what she wanted.
- Thinking a bit more on what Bruno was saying she hesitated knowing the form and properties on water magic and how it could be... fickle. Formless, but with form. "I'll trust the scientist on this one."
- (Nelly Einhardt)
- --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
- [11:45] "If you are completely willing to subject yourself to pain as such, then I will thank you for it." Bruno shared, only to jump to the meat of the subject right away. "If you're ready right now we can go back to Achyon and get started right away. I.. would like that." He confessed, looking at the girl up and down a few, attempting to see what the best way to go about this first experiment would be. As he mulled over the possibilities, Bruno finally reached a hand out towards her, inviting her to take his grasp.
- "Besides your aptitide for water magic, is there anything sacred you wish to protect?"
- (Bruno pyr Aertas)
- --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
- [11:48] She smiled widely. Experimenting. Finally. Nelly reached out for his hand for him to lead her. Thinking deeply she couldn't really think of anything else then the purity of her water magic to keep in tact.
- "No. Everything else doesn't matter." A soft excited expression covered her face in contrast to her wide smile. "I would love to keep speaking I suppose, but I could do without if need me."
- (Nelly Einhardt)
- --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
- [11:49] Bruno pyr Aertas says, "I do not believe your voice will be lost. Perhaps a bit strained, if anything."
- [11:58] The young Aertas led the girl all the way to his family's workshop. A place where countless experiements and attempts had been made in the pursuit of a greater technologic advance. Inviting her to take a seat first and foremost, the young artificer began speaking up.
- "In order to properly integrate technology into one's body I believe one's circuits has to be in complete harmony with the piece of technology they seek to use to enhance themselves. Down to their very mana circuits. For that purpose, electrical circuits have to be carved into the material itself. I intend to test the human body's tolerance to holding an electrical charge within their circuits in order to empower themselves and whatever... piece of technology they may use at once, more or less turning the person themselves into a technological wonder."
- For now, Bruno moved to the table on his own, pulling out a few pieces of ores that were laying around and placing them nextto one another. Hands went to work quickly, sparks flying against the surface of the metal as it forged and molded it into a rod of sorts - nothing that would permanently remain upon Nelly's form.
- Not while his science was not exact.
- Within this steel rod were carved a circuitry through the use of lightning-aspected mana.
- "Do you have any questions before we begin?"
- (Bruno pyr Aertas)
- --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
- [12:02] Nelly sat down in the chair looking around. Hearing his words her mind ran wild for a few minutes. Electricity? That wasn't water... The metal was earth. The- She cut off her thoughts. It'de be easier just to accept it then see the results afterward.
- "No questions. Please continue." She looked at what he was making quietly. "As long as it works I don't care."
- (Nelly Einhardt)
- --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
- [12:03] {Item} You drop Magitech Railgun - Sniper.
- [12:03] {Item} You picked up Magitech Railgun - Sniper. Dropped by Bruno pyr Aertas..
- [12:07] Bruno nodded at that before he stepped away from the table, holding the metal rod in his hand and gesturing towards the table itself.
- "Lay down on it. Make yourself as comfortable as you can be. This.. may damage you, your clothes, or your hair. Worry not, I won't let you catch on fire."
- No scientist worth their weight would let their crazy, willing patient die on a table after all. The possibilities of Nelly becoming naught but a playground for his advancement began exciting his mind and curiosity.
- (Bruno pyr Aertas)
- --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
- [12:11] Nelly laid down on the table. "Do I lay on my back or front?" she tired up her hair up above her head. She shuffled lightly if she were to lay on her stomach she would unzip the back of her dress so it wouldn't get burned otherwise if she was to lay on her back she would just accept that her clothes would be ruined.
- Whichever it was she would make herself comfortable and brace herself for whatever pain was about to come.
- (Nelly Einhardt)
- --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
- [12:20] "Laying down on your front would be better." The Aertas said before he allowed Nelly to make herself as comfortable as possible, even daring to show more skin than Bruno may have expected. His sights shifted away and instead laid upon a diagram depicting the average mana circuitry of a human being. He followed the lines along the model's spine before placing the cold, and unforgiving end of the rod he had previously prepared right against Nelly's skin near the base of her spine.
- A gentle hum could be heard as the Aertas adjusted the circuit-like carvings in the metal to properly line themselves up with Nelly's own system.
- "Breathe." He uttered, hoping she would before the shock came.
- Electricity ran down the metallic rod pressed upon her back and aimed to course along her entire system, hijacking the flow of mana and twisting it to hold an electrical charge. Effectively the odds of such modifying her own affinity were null, but the mana within her was likely to react and hold the proper charge in needed from Bruno's granted magic.
- .. Of course, embodying lightning itself was far from pleasant when the process was made with another's mana, using a magic that was far from proper to Nelly's body. Excruciating pain would course through her entire body, hence the request for her to pre-emptively breathe. She would be able to feel pain in every extremity of herself, every inch, every thought, every hope that she held was filled with this immense charge, pushing and testing just how much the human body could tolerate when it came to being powered like a machine. The pain was far above and beyond having one's arm snapped. It was more akin to torture than anything else.
- And it was only begining.
- (Bruno pyr Aertas)
- --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
- [12:32] Nelly took a deep breath and clenched her fists then the electric surge came.
- A massive pain started to spread through her body the very mana in her veins writhing against the new presence. A deep lightning hot feeling felt like it was slashing at her insides.
- If on instinct her water magic started to wave over the surface of her body, but what was more interesting was it seemed that the water slowly started to boil. Nelly's body was heating up in reaction to the invasion.
- Her thoughts quickly arrested from her the sharp knife of electricity spread further and further through her body the water mana in her circuitry making this even more painful than it should have been. A loud maddening howl of pain was released from her as her eyes started to glow lightly and the water on the surface of her skip rippled violently.
- Her fingers dug deep into her hands drawing some blood. She was writhing on the table surely she would have to be held in place for her not to shift out of place and cause troubles and complications. The pain was present in her very soul it felt screaming at her.
- Though no thoughts would be able to help her as the only things in her mind were an endless amount of pain that reached into her bones, muscles, mind, and soul. She was bitting down on her lip and blood dripped out of her mouth. A steam coming of her body started to gradually heat up the room. Her mind was barely holding on she was on the brink of passing out.
- No amount of words could explain the pain. The only thing that was apparent was the spasming and harsh sudden movements of her body as they slid and slammed against the table she was laying on.
- (Nelly Einhardt)
- --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
- [12:41] This sensation of control over Nelly only seemed to fuel Bruno further. The howl of pain that reverberated through the room and perhaps the whole castle managed to draw a sick small smile from his lips. There was something magical about having one's well-being at their mercy even if the goal of it all was to experiment.
- Inflicting pain upon the girl had driven the Aertas to desire for more. His free hand ensured that she wouldn't slip away from the table, and move whatever she went to knock away from her pain-filled limbs. Overcharging the rod a bit further ended up being inadvisable in the long run. The metallic surface began burning up hotter and hotter, singeing a round mark upon the girl's skin right where the item of choice had been placed. As it grew hotter and hotter some smoke could be seen rising up from the girl's burning flesh.
- ... and as every experiment with such a high threshold of intensity goes, the material itself ended up giving in - its inner workings unable to withstand as much of a strain as Nelly's entire body, breaking them apart and cutting the direct link to her circuitry. This only led to the rod getting even hotter, burning red and promptly tossed aside to avoid pain being inflicted upon Bruno's own hands.
- How selfish.
- His small smile remained despite the girl's pain, and he mumbled to himself while she likely was in the process of recovering - her troubles enhanced by her own affinity.
- "The body is able to withstand much more than this... The material was the issue, but with proper conduction and good metal, then any overclocking of one's circuits would flow seemlessly through and avoid damage to both the enhancement and the person... Good, good."
- (Bruno pyr Aertas)
- --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
- [12:41] * You have been awarded 10 Roleplay Points! *
- [12:50] As the rod grew hotter and hotter the water on her body started to pool up around it healing waters trying their best to keep up, but at a lack for sure. A permanent burn mark would be left on her body. The water on her skin continued to boil as the screams only intensified.
- An endlessly horrific roar of pain echoed out of her mouth as she visibly put a hole in the table some of the table getting lodged in her skin as she did so. A slick red current of blood oozed out of the wound.
- After she was finally finished with The burning sensation she looked over at Bruno with crazy eyes. A shaky hand reaching out as the healing waters eased the pain only enough to keep her awake. Slowly easing the sensations as the procedure was done now.
- A hand of boiling water reached toward him threating to burn him. Though her body was weak it seemed the water on her skin was raging. "A lake... A pool... water... anything." Seemed she was begging with what little strength she had.
- Truly she was a monster going through so much pain and then forcing her body to keep moving just to get to water even if it had no strength to do so in the end. Just her mental strength was the thing keeping her moving as she reached further and further toward Bruno she feel off the table with a thud. "Wa…..ter..."
- (Nelly Einhardt)
- --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
- [12:59] A metallic scent filled the room as more of Nelly's precious crimson lifeline dripped from her, taining both table and floor in the process. Blood, burnt skin, and aching body were all affecting the girl in that moment as she begged for some sort of release, for the pain to cease and for her beloved nature to return to her in masses.
- Bruno would leave Nelly to twist and crawl on the ground for a few more seconds before he acted, ensuring that he wouldn't be shocked as she had been from the remnants of electricity coursing through her. Without a word would the Aertas pull his subject off the ground, taining himself with her blood and that horrible scent of burnt skin.
- He exited the room without further ado, moving from one room to the next, and finally ending up in the bathroom where Nelly was laid in the bath. The water was turned on and it quickly began pooling around her form in hopes to keep this willing participant still willing even after the torturous tests made upon her.
- Blue eyes finally laid upon hers asking the first question of concern.
- .. for his experiment, of course.
- "Could you feel the charge within your body? Besides the pain, did it feel fine?"
- (Bruno pyr Aertas)
- --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
- [13:10] Finally being put in water Nelly started to relax. The very water itself would glow lightly and seem to slowly start to flow into her circuits.... or at least a small aspect of it.
- Something that she had recently started to grasp how to do. Though the water in this bath was a very lack luster in the natural return that she got from listening to the endless ocean. Her skin stop boiling. Though work would still have to be done to fix the blood and burnt skin.
- She repeated in her head listening to the water she was in. Listen and hear. Let it flow. Listen closely and truly hear it. Focus and don't enjoy yourself to much. Make sure it comes naturally. Her mana circuits were added to the deep connection of the water as she took deep breaths and proceeded to heal herself.
- "I..." Feeling out through her body she tried to notice a type of charge. It was strange though in a way there was a charge, but at the same time it's as if her water mana acted as a solvent. A liquid current of charge seemed to spark in her, but it wasn't perfect by any means or very strong at all. Just a whisper of something.
- "Yeah... a charge... I think my mana reacted poorly to it... has this been done on a pure water magi before? I.... have no other affinities. I don't... even use ice magic. Just water and healing water." It was the purest form of just water she would be practicing no side shoots just water. A unique case in and of itself. She felt a slight boiling of her mana thinking on it. "It felt... other than the pain... there was nothing. I..." Thinking harder and harder while still hearing the water she was in.
- "It reached every... part of me. I think it went off course... a bit... at least... but... I'm alright. I... maybe adjustments need to be made?"
- (Nelly Einhardt)
- --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
- [13:14] "I have not tested it before. You were the first one." He admitted. Such an extreme experiment for the first time may have been going overboard, though Burno was far from being concerned for Nelly's safety. After all she had offered every bit of herself for the cause.
- "The material certainly has to be able to withstand more than that. If fused with a person one should take in consideration that person's own affinity and.. talent. To match the purpose with the mana that courses through their circuits. Incompatible parts are bound to inflict pain. There is no evolution from that."
- The Aertas found himself seated on the bath's side, scanning Nelly up and down over and over as the waters around her worked to mend the damage he had caused.
- "It's a good first step. You remain willing for more tests at a later date, right?"
- (Bruno pyr Aertas)
- --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
- [13:18] Nelly sunk deeper into the water giving a light sigh. Then looking up to him with determined eyes she spoke without hesitation even though she was still recovering.
- "Of course I am. Anything for my goddess... anything for my goals." The naturalism of the water seemed to be helping her a great deal with repairing her abused body. Surely she would have to improve her own healing skills to make herself an even better test subject. Able to take even more abuse than this.
- One of the things she would be willing and able to do if it meant more progress. "Just let me know when you have something... I'll be collecting rare materials in a year or twos time." Honestly it was to make sure she could go up against the certain dangers that would be guarding said materials and knowledge.
- (Nelly Einhardt)
- --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
- [13:23] Were he a bit older and in touch with his more violent tendencies, Bruno would likely have cupped Nelly's cheek and treated her like the precious associate that she was willing to be. With more years ahead of himself before he grew into a complete madman, the Aertas instead reached down for her hand, taking it within his grasp and squeezing it with much desire - much need for her participation.
- "Good... Good. I'll work on a prototype suited for you. The next time should not hurt as much." He said, thinking for a moment before he spoke again. "Unless you would prefer it."
- (Bruno pyr Aertas)
- --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
- [13:30] Nelly felt her hand getting taken. A look down to it as he did so. Her normal neutral look covering her face. At least it's resting state anyway. Her eyes tracked to Bruno's eyes a cold collectiveness about them.
- Perhaps if she was older she would assert herself clearly though for now she was still a young broken minded girl that strived for something almost impossible.
- "I hope you do have a prototype." Her look traveled back to his hand turning it over placing a small amount of water in it as she let go. "Whatever is necessary." She looked away thinking. "I can endure anything." Strong willed and certain. Not a girl to be broken any more than she already was.
- (Nelly Einhardt)
- --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
- [13:35] This permission to inflict more pain upon her drew a small smile upon Bruno's lips. Her dedication to the craft was unparalleled and that truly would be helpful in the future. His mind was already working out on a way to use her natural talents in order to power... something. Anything. The water left in his hand would be put back into her bath as he leaned back a bit once more, thinking out loud.
- "You have shown yourself to endure a lot already. I'll make sure to gain as much information as it's possible with our tests." He said, rising up to his feet properly and rather rudely expressing more thoughts to his 'assistant' in the matter.
- "Are you ready to depart or do you need more time?"
- (Bruno pyr Aertas)
- --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
- [13:45] Nelly looked around the room and a tendril of water reached for a towel soaking it and bringing it over to the bath. She wrapped herself in it before getting out of the water. He intention wasn't to dry off, but she just felt better standing up with a towel around her.
- Even if she had clothes on. Bringing a few orbs of water with her as she stood she looked down at him as she stepped up and over the brim of the bath. "I'm ready to leave." Clearly she was still healing herself, but she was moving and that was good enough for her.
- "I have things I need to do." She curtsied to Bruno unfazed by his rude demeanor. He was helping her. That's all that mattered.
- "Have a nice day." At least she had formality if nothing else.
- (Nelly Einhardt)
- --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
- [13:46] Bruno nodded, escorting the girl to the exit soon enough.
- "Have a nice day, too."
- (Bruno pyr Aertas)
