  1. "How do I get Sims 2?"
  2. Contact Origin support and heckle the fuck out of them until they give you the Ultimate Collection, which includes all the Sims 2 expansions that actually matter (it doesn't include the Store Edition, but the Store's been down for years so who cares). You may need to provide a copy of the game or a serial key before they actually add the game to your account.

  4. Things to note about the Ultimate Collection (henceforth known as the UC):
  5. - The UC includes a bunch of expansion compilations like Fun with Pets, meaning that it won't work with some programs like AnyGameStarter.

  7. - The UC does NOT include the items Maxis provided through preorder bonuses *wew* and the Exchange. There's links for those somewhere below.

  9. If you can't get a copy of the UC, just pirate the game. There is no way to digitally buy a copy of Sims 2 or any of its expansions for Windows, and it's EA so who fucking cares anyway. If you're a stickler, you can buy the game off Amazon or eBay or from a local thrift store or whatever (I wouldn't be surprised if Goodwill's still filled with old Sims 2 expansions) but fuck man that's effort.

  13. If you're reading this, you're also probably interested in installing mods. Make sure you install Apartment Life or Mansion and Garden Stuff if you're interested in shit other than custom content, since they were the last updates to the game engine and most mods and hacks were made with those versions of the game in mind.

  15. If you're incredibly confused by mod versions, read this (http://www.simbology.com/smf/index.php?topic=1228.0). If you're running the Ultimate Collection, you're running Mansion & Garden Stuff, which despite being a stuff pack, actually includes the latest version of the game engine. In that case, you should download the Apartment Life/M&G version of mods when available.

Note that the Super Collection doesn't actually include all the expansions - it only includes the expansions Aspyr managed to port over before they got into legal bullshit with EA, which means Mac users are stuck without FreeTime, Apartment Life, and most stuff packs. Keep this in mind when installing mods and custom content, since you won't be running the latest version of the game. Apparently, this version of the game includes shit like higher resolutions (4k!), but I don't have a Mac so ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
