  1. [16:48] <@aberrant[DM]> Amelia, you notice a rather unexpected scene pop up on your screen.
  2. [16:48] <AS> AS: On second thought she's fire-resistant
  3. [16:48] <AS> AS: Did you click the Start Game button
  4. [16:48] <AS> AS: What is on your screen
  5. [16:49] <OD> OD: I did.
  6. [16:49] <@aberrant[DM]> Feraku, you notice the changes on your screen as described in your post.
  7. [16:49] <@aberrant[DM]> https://www.reddit.com/r/RPGStuck_C3/comments/3svogl/session_3_we_should_make_a_name_guys_act_1_update/cxdo2tz?context=3
  8. [16:49] <OD> OD: I'm seeing... something odd.
  9. [16:49] <AS> AS: Mine says that client connection is established
  10. [16:49] <@aberrant[DM]> ((Feraku, describe what Amelia sees))
  11. [16:49] <OD> OD: I don't really know what it is.
  12. [16:50] <@aberrant[DM]> ((general room/house description, feraku's appearance, etc.))
  13. [16:50] <AS> Amelia sees a room, sort of messy, with a desk with science stuff on it, an elevator in the background, an oblong recuperacoon, and a desk with a computer on it.
  14. [16:51] <@aberrant[DM]> https://i.imgur.com/rs2Y3wB.png
  15. [16:51] <OD> OD: I see... a horned creature.
  16. [16:51] <OD> OD: What the hell is that?
  17. [16:51] <AS> Sitting at the computer is Feraku, a troll with chest-length straight black hair, wearing a black shirt with a strange cerulean symbol on it, and black jeans.
  18. [16:52] <AS> AS: Is the horned creature sitting at a desk
  19. [16:52] <OD> OD: Yes
  20. [16:55] <AS> AS: Does the horned creature have gray skin
  21. [16:55] <AS> AS: And is the horned creature wearing a black shirt
  22. [16:56] <OD> OD: I don't know. I can't see a face.
  23. [16:56] <OD> OD: Yeah
  24. [16:56] <AS> AS: If you answer yes to both of those questions that horned creature might be me
  25. [16:56] <AS> AS: I do not have a webcam in my room so this should not be occuring
  26. [16:56] <OD> OD: Do something.
  27. [16:56] * AS checks for hidden cameras
  28. [16:57] * AS waves with her right hand
  29. [16:57] <@aberrant[DM]> Roll for perception
  30. [16:57] <AS> !roll 1d20+1
  31. [17:00] <AS> !roll 1d20+1
  32. [17:00] <`DICE> AS rolled 1d20+1 [ 1d20=12 ]{13}
  33. [17:01] <@aberrant[DM]> You look around on your sciencey desk, around you recuperacoon, around the corners of the walls, and up by the ceiling, but you don't notice anything.
  34. [17:01] <AS> AS: Well I just checked for hidden cameras and waved with my right hand
  35. [17:01] <OD> OD: It just waved...
  36. [17:02] <OD> OD: Oh... It's you.
  37. [17:02] <AS> AS: "It" might be me
  38. [17:02] <OD> OD: Why can i see you?
  39. [17:02] <AS> AS: I am as confused as you are
  40. [17:02] <OD> OD: I don't understand.
  41. [17:02] <AS> AS: HM is a company made of creeps apparently who like to put cameras in peoples rooms
  42. [17:03] <AS> What shows up on your screen
  43. [17:03] <OD> OD: What else do you see outside?
  44. [17:03] <AS> AS: I haven't checked the window much but let me see
  45. [17:03] * AS checks out the window
  46. [17:04] <@aberrant[DM]> You see the usual grounds surrounding your tower and abode, with the fire in the forest from earlier. Unsurprisingly, it seems larger now, but there also appears to be another fire that has started in an entirely different part of the wooded area.
  47. [17:05] <OD> OD: You lusus... or whatever it's called. Is it okay?
  48. [17:05] <AS> AS: She should be because she is fire-resistant
  49. [17:05] <AS> AS: The forest is burning
  50. [17:06] <@aberrant[DM]> You notice a streak of fire come from the sky and hit the ground in a massive explosion off in the distance.
  51. [17:06] <@aberrant[DM]> THAT'S... definitely not Wyvernmom
  52. [17:07] <AS> AS: Meteors are falling
  53. [17:07] <AS> AS: Quick what's on your screen
  54. [17:07] <@aberrant[DM]> You still see the same character in her room looking out the window.
  55. [17:08] <@aberrant[DM]> Right now, the outside isn't really visible on your screen.
  56. [17:08] <OD> OD: Just you, looking out the window.
  57. [17:12] <AS> AS: Any buttons or menus or anything
  58. [17:13] <@aberrant[DM]> You see a menu button in the upper right corner, in the usual place it is in UNOnline.
  59. [17:14] <OD> OD: Just a menu button.
  60. [17:14] <AS> AS: See what is in it
  61. [17:15] * OD clicks on the menu button
  62. [17:15] <@aberrant[DM]> An expansive menu unrolls (complete with nice animation and everything) along the top of the screen. There's a whole lot of buttons!
  63. [17:16] <@aberrant[DM]> There's a button that looks like a cursor
  64. [17:16] <OD> OD: I see lots of buttons.
  65. [17:16] <@aberrant[DM]> Another one that looks like a weird hexagon thing
  66. [17:16] * OD clicks on the cursor button
  67. [17:16] <@aberrant[DM]> Another one that looks like a captchalogue card next to a beaker
  68. [17:17] <@aberrant[DM]> A submenu opens up with three different options:
  69. [17:17] <@aberrant[DM]> One button contains a normal cursor labeled MOVE, the second with a cursor all scrambled up and pixelated labeled REVISE, and another with an upside down cursor pointing down labeled DEPLOY
  70. [17:18] <@aberrant[DM]> Feraku, roll perception
  71. [17:18] <AS> !roll 1d20+1
  72. [17:18] <`DICE> AS rolled 1d20+1 [ 1d20=6 ]{7}
  73. [17:18] <@aberrant[DM]> You think you hear chanting in the background
  74. [17:19] * OD clicks the MOVE button
  75. [17:19] <OD> OD: I clicked a button that says move
  76. [17:19] <OD> OD: I'm going to try it.
  77. [17:20] * OD clicks daystand and attempts to move it a bit to the right.
  78. [17:21] <AS> ((There's nothing on the daystand currently))
  79. [17:22] <@aberrant[DM]> Feraku (and Amelia), you see Feraku's small table next to the weird pool thing float up into the air, and then rocket towards the wall where it smashes into smithereens. The splinters and wooden parts rain down into the recuperacoon.
  80. [17:22] <OD> ((I know))
  81. [17:22] <@aberrant[DM]> F***n laptop trackpads!
  82. [17:23] <AS> AS: Oh crap my daystand just broke
  83. [17:23] <OD> OD: Oops...
  84. [17:23] * AS attempts to hide embarassing fanfiction she wrote
  85. [17:23] <OD> OD: I meant to move it a little...
  86. [17:25] <AS> AS: So this game has control over reality as well
  87. [17:25] <AS> AS: See if you can put down new objects or something
  88. [17:25] <OD> OD: It's like I'm controlling you.
  89. [17:25] <OD> OD: I'll try.
  90. [17:26] * OD attempts to take something off Feraku's desk and move it
  91. [17:26] <@aberrant[DM]> You attempt to click on and move what seems to be a pen.
  92. [17:27] <@aberrant[DM]> You pick up the whole desk.
  93. [17:27] <@aberrant[DM]> Everything on the desk starts sliding off of it as it tips.
  94. [17:27] <@aberrant[DM]> Feraku, all of your science things are about to roll everywhere!
  95. [17:27] <AS> Feraku dashes to catch the stuff!
  96. [17:27] <OD> OD: No, no, no....
  97. [17:27] <OD> OD: I meant the pen!
  98. [17:28] <@aberrant[DM]> Both of you roll dexterity.
  99. [17:28] <AS> roll 1d20+1
  100. [17:28] <AS> !roll 1d20+1
  101. [17:28] <`DICE> AS rolled 1d20+1 [ 1d20=2 ]{3}
  102. [17:29] <AS> ((fuck))
  103. [17:29] <OD> !roll 1d20+3
  104. [17:29] <`DICE> OD rolled 1d20+3 [ 1d20=11 ]{14}
  105. [17:29] <OD> ((yiss))
  106. [17:29] <AS> ((sort of saved))
  107. [17:30] <@aberrant[DM]> Amelia, you sort of set the desk back down on the ground with a loud THUD.
  108. [17:30] <@aberrant[DM]> Most of the writing implements and several of the sciencey tools fly off of the desk as it clatters to the ground.
  109. [17:30] <@aberrant[DM]> Feraku you dive to save some of your things, but you slip on one of the stray pens, proceeding to faceplant straight into the floor with yet another loud THUD.
  110. [17:31] <OD> OD: Ouch.. You okay?
  111. [17:31] * AS gets up and looks at this mess
  112. [17:31] <AS> AS: Sort of
  113. [17:32] <AS> AS: Does the game give you any new items to deploy to my room or can you just move existing stuff around
  114. [17:32] <OD> OD: Let me look.
  115. [17:32] * AS starts putting science stuff back on the desk
  116. [17:32] * OD goes back to the menu and clicks DEPLOY
  117. [17:32] <@aberrant[DM]> Feraku, you hear the chanting getting louder, punctuated by occasional screams. You hear the elevator to your room hum to life
  118. [17:33] <AS> AS: Holy shit someone's in the elevator
  119. [17:33] <@aberrant[DM]> You try and tidy up as best as you can. Unfortunately, some of these things are quite broken or bent. :((( At least you can try and make things look tidy.
  120. [17:33] <OD> OD: Oh... Do you recognize the voices?
  121. [17:33] * AS takes out her weapon, Call of the Void 1.0
  122. [17:33] <AS> AS: I do not know
  123. [17:33] <@aberrant[DM]> ((Amelia, you do not have audio of Feraku's area, just the generic music))
  124. [17:34] <@aberrant[DM]> ((https://soundcloud.com/joelinia/entry-music))
  125. [17:34] <OD> OD: Well, then maybe it's good you took out your weapon.
  126. [17:34] <OD> OD: I can help how I can.
  127. [17:35] <AS> AS: Just put stuff you can down, don't block the elevator
  128. [17:35] <AS> AS: I will take care of them
  129. [17:35] <OD> OD: Okay.
  130. [17:35] * OD attempts to DEPLOY something
  131. [17:36] <@aberrant[DM]> ((Feraku certainly knows a lot about what needs to be done here :P))
  132. [17:36] <@aberrant[DM]> Just as with the previous menu, 3 suboptions pop up.
  133. [17:36] <OD> ((lol right?))
  134. [17:36] <AS> ((shit sorry
  135. [17:36] <AS> ))
  136. [17:36] <@aberrant[DM]> You see three weird shapes.
  137. [17:37] <@aberrant[DM]> One of them looks like a weird sort of clamp thing labeled TOTEM LATHE
  138. [17:37] <AS> ((i'll try not to do that, this was under the assumption that Amelia did have stuff to put down))
  139. [17:37] <@aberrant[DM]> The next looks like a very large round table labeled ALCHEMITER.
  140. [17:37] * AS waits for the elevator
  141. [17:37] <@aberrant[DM]> The third looks like a large hunk of metal with a tube sticking out of the top labeled CRUXTRUDER.
  142. [17:38] <OD> OD: Well, I have some options. I'll pick one and go with it?
  143. [17:38] <@aberrant[DM]> Feraku, the ground shakes with another thundrous explosion.
  144. [17:38] <@aberrant[DM]> The elevator stops at the fifth floor, your floor.
  145. [17:38] <@aberrant[DM]> The doors open.
  146. [17:39] <AS> "Who's there?"
  147. [17:39] <@aberrant[DM]> The elevator is empty
  148. [17:39] <AS> AS: just go with an option
  149. [17:39] <AS> AS: Also the door opened and nobody's there
  150. [17:40] <AS> AS: This is something straight out of an unnerving carbohydrate-based noodle
  151. [17:41] <@aberrant[DM]> Speaking of carbohydrates
  152. [17:41] <AS> AS: or a Creepypasta as the Minister insists on calling them
  153. [17:41] * OD DEPLOYS ALCHEMITER
  154. [17:41] <@aberrant[DM]> You notice your robes with meat-filled carbohydrate sacs is fine, despite Amelia's carnage.
  155. [17:41] <AS> ((i thought there was going to be pocketoli on the elevator floor))
  156. [17:41] <@aberrant[DM]> Your cursor turns into a massive circular table thing which is currently located over a wall and is red because you can't click there.
  157. [17:42] <@aberrant[DM]> As you move your cursor, the shape moves with it.
  158. [17:42] <AS> Feraku checks in the elevator
  159. [17:42] <@aberrant[DM]> roll for perception
  160. [17:42] * OD moves cursor in between elevator and closet and drops ALCHEMITER
  161. [17:43] <@aberrant[DM]> Despite the space being perfectly empty, even after your mess, it still seems to be red as though something were blocking it!
  162. [17:43] <AS> !roll 1d20+1
  163. [17:43] <`DICE> AS rolled 1d20+1 [ 1d20=13 ]{14}
  164. [17:43] <@aberrant[DM]> The elevator is empty.
  165. [17:43] <@aberrant[DM]> Or so it seems.
  166. [17:43] <AS> Feraku hides in between the closet and the elevator.
  167. [17:44] <AS> Nobody can find her there right?! right?!!!!
  168. [17:44] <OD> OD: Feraku, i'm going to drop something there.
  169. [17:44] <@aberrant[DM]> Feraku, you bump into something.
  170. [17:45] <@aberrant[DM]> Something in the middle of the space between the closet and the elevator where you definitely don't see anything
  171. [17:45] <AS> AS: Alright I will move
  172. [17:46] <AS> AS: Holy crap i just bumped into something
  173. [17:46] <OD> OD: Thank you
  174. [17:46] <AS> AS: can you not drop something there for a second
  175. [17:46] * AS reaches out to the invisible thing
  176. [17:46] <@aberrant[DM]> roll acrobatics
  177. [17:47] <OD> OD: Okay, what is it?
  178. [17:47] <@aberrant[DM]> Amelia, you don't see anything wrong, but the game still says there's something blocking you deploying the Alchemiter there
  179. [17:47] <AS> !roll 1d20+1
  180. [17:47] <`DICE> AS rolled 1d20+1 [ 1d20=15 ]{16}
  181. [17:47] <AS> AS: I do not know
  182. [17:48] <@aberrant[DM]> You feel something quickly move past your ankle, almost tripping you before hearing a voice behind you. Right in your ear.
  183. [17:48] <OD> OD: What did you almost fall over?
  184. [17:48] <@aberrant[DM]> "Hellllo again........"
  185. [17:48] <@aberrant[DM]> Amelai, you still don't see anything other than Feraku acting weird.
  186. [17:49] <AS> AS: I think i might have to go for a bit
  187. [17:49] <AS> "The Minister, now's not the time!"
  188. [17:50] <OD> OD: Where would you go?
  189. [17:51] <AS> "Show yourself! Something's happening here and it's not good and we need that space you're standing in!"
  190. [17:51] <@aberrant[DM]> "Oh..... but that's where you are wrong...."
  191. [17:51] <@aberrant[DM]> "Now is the perfect time..... sweetie."
  192. [17:51] <@aberrant[DM]> Amelia, you see a tall horned woman appear out of nowhere directly behind Feraku.
  193. [17:51] <@aberrant[DM]> She has a maniacal grin on her face and Feraku doesn't seem to have noticed her.
  194. [17:51] <OD> OD: Feraku... Look behind you.
  195. [17:52] <AS> "HOLY SHIT YOU SCARED ME"
  196. [17:52] <AS> "Why?"
  197. [17:52] <@aberrant[DM]> The Minister wads up a very thin cloak, putting it in her pocket before speaking.
  198. [17:52] <@aberrant[DM]> "You tell me, dear"
  199. [17:53] <@aberrant[DM]> Amelia, you see these two horned creatures talking on your screen but you can't hear what they're saying. Stupid game and no audio. Perhaps you can find somewhere else to put this huge thing?
  200. [17:54] <AS> "What is happening here?"
  201. [17:54] <AS> "And what's with the meat-filled carbohydrate sacs?"
  202. [17:54] <@aberrant[DM]> "Have you not realized?"
  203. [17:54] <@aberrant[DM]> "You were the one with that timer!"
  204. [17:54] <@aberrant[DM]> "THE TIME HAS COME"
  205. [17:54] <@aberrant[DM]> The Minister gestures to the window, grinning widely.
  206. [17:55] <AS> ((holy fuck i forgot about the timer))
  207. [17:55] <@aberrant[DM]> ((thank you based DM joel))
  208. [17:55] <AS> "I forgot all about that"
  209. [17:56] <AS> "Oh god it's happening"
  210. [17:56] <AS> "I never said goodbye"
  211. [17:56] * OD drops ALCHEMITER where the daystand was
  212. [17:56] <OD> OD: Why do you look so scared?
  213. [17:57] * AS has her phone in her pocket.
  214. [17:58] <@aberrant[DM]> A MASSIVE circular table thing with complex geometric shapes carved into it appears out of nowhere where the daystand was.
  215. [17:58] <@aberrant[DM]> The Minister casually looks over at it and smiles.
  216. [17:58] <AS> "What is the meaning of this?!"
  217. [17:59] <@aberrant[DM]> "You know the answer to that already."
  218. [17:59] <@aberrant[DM]> "You just do not want to admit it."
  219. [17:59] <AS> "No, no I don't! What does this have to do with doomsday? Where is this mentioned in the Book of the Void?"
  220. [18:00] <@aberrant[DM]> "This is it, darling."
  221. [18:00] <@aberrant[DM]> "This is THE END. THE END OF EVERYTHING."
  222. [18:00] <@aberrant[DM]> "AND IT SHALL BE BEAUTIFUL"
  223. [18:00] <@aberrant[DM]> ((Amelia, feel free to keep doing things if you want to since you can't technically understand this conversation))
  224. [18:00] <AS> Feraku reaches to the bottom of her science desk for the doomsday clock she purged from her memory.
  225. [18:01] <@aberrant[DM]> It currently reads 10 seconds, and is still counting down.
  226. [18:02] <AS> "TEN SECONDS"
  227. [18:02] <@aberrant[DM]> The Minister smirks
  228. [18:02] <@aberrant[DM]> 9
  229. [18:02] <@aberrant[DM]> 8
  230. [18:02] <AS> AS: Amelia I think this might be goodbye
  231. [18:02] <@aberrant[DM]> 7
  232. [18:02] <AS> AS: This is literally doomsday
  233. [18:02] <@aberrant[DM]> The Minister looks at the weird table thing and gestures to it.
  234. [18:03] <@aberrant[DM]> 6
  235. [18:03] <AS> Feraku runs to the table thing.
  236. [18:03] <@aberrant[DM]> "I see you're already getting yourself prepared for the end times."
  237. [18:03] <AS> "THERE'S NOTHING HERE"
  238. [18:03] <OD> OD: What do you mean?
  239. [18:03] <@aberrant[DM]> "Good job."
  240. [18:03] <@aberrant[DM]> The Minister turns and begins walking towards the elevator.
  241. [18:04] <@aberrant[DM]> "See you on the other side, lovely."
  242. [18:04] <@aberrant[DM]> The Minister stands in the elevator looking at you.
  243. [18:05] <@aberrant[DM]> 5
  244. [18:05] <OD> OD: Is everything okay? Why is creepy person walking away?
  245. [18:06] <AS> AS: Put more stuff down
  246. [18:06] <AS> AS: Put all the machines available down
  247. [18:06] <OD> OD: Got it
  248. [18:07] * OD puts down TOTEM LATHE
  249. [18:07] <OD> wherever available
  250. [18:07] * OD puts down CRUXTRUDER as well
  251. [18:08] <@aberrant[DM]> 4
  252. [18:08] <@aberrant[DM]> You manage to squish the TOTEM LATHE by the two desks
  253. [18:08] <@aberrant[DM]> but there isn't space in the room for the CRUXTRUDER, whatever the fuck that is
  254. [18:08] <@aberrant[DM]> it's enormous!
  255. [18:08] <@aberrant[DM]> 3
  256. [15:24] * OD attempts to find a spot for the CRUXTRUDER
  257. [15:24] <@aberrant[DM]> The Minister stands in the doorway to the elevator, staring at you with an unblinking gaze, a rather disturbing smile on her face.
  258. [15:24] <AS> Feraku scrambles to the Totem Lathe to try to find something it does.
  259. [15:24] <@aberrant[DM]> She waits in anticipation.
  260. [15:24] <AS> "HELP ME, MINISTER"
  261. [15:25] <@aberrant[DM]> Amelia, there isn't space in this room for it. The top floor of the tower is just too cramped!
  262. [15:25] <OD> OD: I can't find a spot for this, Feraku. There's no room and I can't see anything else but your room.
  263. [15:25] <@aberrant[DM]> Feraku, the machine has a slot and a bunch of sharp blades protruding from a metal arm
  264. [15:25] <AS> AS: 4th floor
  265. [15:25] <@aberrant[DM]> 2
  266. [15:26] <@aberrant[DM]> "I already have."
  267. [15:26] <@aberrant[DM]> The Minister gestures to the soiled pile of robes on the edge of the desk.
  268. [15:26] <@aberrant[DM]> "It won't be long now."
  269. [15:27] <AS> Feraku grabs a pocketoli and tests for magic powers/
  270. [15:27] <@aberrant[DM]> roll for investigation
  271. [15:27] <AS> !roll 1d20+3
  272. [15:27] <`DICE> AS rolled 1d20+3 [ 1d20=2 ]{5}
  273. [15:27] * OD attempts to place CRUXTRUDER on another level
  274. [15:27] <@aberrant[DM]> You eat one. They are tasty. The Minister rolls her eyes.
  275. [15:28] <@aberrant[DM]> "The Mantle, dear. Not that silly 'food'!"
  276. [15:28] <@aberrant[DM]> "You will find shortly that The Void is the only way....."
  277. [15:28] <@aberrant[DM]> 1
  278. [15:28] <AS> Fuck this. Feraku puts on The Mantle and is careful not to spill pocketoli all over herself.
  279. [15:28] <@aberrant[DM]> Amelia, you move your cursor to the edge of the screen to scroll around and move to the fourth floor. Feraku, describe the 4th floor.
  280. [15:29] <AS> Science lab. Empty space in the middle.
  281. [15:29] <AS> Science stuff all around the edges.
  282. [15:29] * OD places CRUXTRUDER in the middle of the room, without blocking any entrances
  283. [15:30] <@aberrant[DM]> Feraku, you hear a loud THUD below you and the floor shakes.
  284. [15:30] <@aberrant[DM]> The clock in your hands hits 0.
  285. [15:30] <AS> "Well, this is goodbye."
  286. [15:30] <@aberrant[DM]> Red lights flash EVERYWHERE all over the clock's surface and the clock begins vibrating.
  287. [15:30] <@aberrant[DM]> "It begins."
  288. [15:30] <@aberrant[DM]> The Minister hits the close door button on the elevator.
  289. [15:30] <AS> Feraku sprints for the elevator and slams the buton.
  290. [15:30] <@aberrant[DM]> This very loud noise https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aqdMHUfRhW0 begins blaring from the clock in your hands.
  291. [15:30] <AS> button*
  292. [15:31] <AS> "NONONONONONONONONONONONONONO"
  293. [15:31] <OD> OD: What's going on?
  294. [15:31] <OD> OD: Are you okay?
  295. [15:31] <@aberrant[DM]> A MASSIVE explosion somewhere that just HAD to be on the castle grounds shakes the entire tower.
  296. [15:31] <@aberrant[DM]> The elevator doors freeze with about a foot left.
  297. [15:31] <AS> AS: Doomsday
  298. [15:31] <@aberrant[DM]> "Need something, darling?"
  299. [15:32] <@aberrant[DM]> "Awwww, are you afraid?"
  300. [15:32] <OD> OD: What??
  301. [15:32] <@aberrant[DM]> "Did you think you could avoid this?"
  302. [15:32] <AS> "I need to get to the fourth floor! Something important is there!"
  303. [15:32] <@aberrant[DM]> "Yes, yes, you dooooo need to get there don't you!"
  304. [15:32] <OD> OD: Where are you trying to go?
  305. [15:32] <AS> "YES I DO NEED TO GET THERE"
  306. [15:32] <@aberrant[DM]> The elevator doors shut.
  307. [15:32] <AS> "FUCK!"
  308. [15:33] <@aberrant[DM]> The elevator dings and the doors open as if you had called the elevator to your floor.
  309. [15:33] <@aberrant[DM]> The elevator is empty.
  310. [15:33] <AS> Feraku gets in the elevator and keeps pushing floor 4 button.
  311. [15:33] <@aberrant[DM]> Amelia, you notice a second submenu appear in your DEPLOY area that wasn't there before.
  312. [15:34] <@aberrant[DM]> There seems to be a wide assortment of machines and weird-looking things, but they're all grayed out except for one.
  313. [15:34] <@aberrant[DM]> The elevator doors slowly close.
  314. [15:35] <AS> ((i'm already playing the alarm sound and the entry music))
  315. [15:35] <@aberrant[DM]> A gentle hum emanates from the elevator as it moves downwards before lurching DANGEROUSLY as the entire tower shakes from yet another explosion.
  316. [15:35] <AS> "SHIT"
  317. [15:35] <OD> OD: I have more options for machines. But I can only place one.
  318. [15:36] * OD hovers mouse over the machine to see the name
  319. [15:37] <@aberrant[DM]> It seems to be labeled PUNCHED CARD. It looks like a blank captchalogue card but with a crapton of holes in it everywhere. How useless is that?
  320. [15:37] <@aberrant[DM]> The elevator reaches the fourth floor. The loud alarm noise is easily audible from this floor too.
  321. [15:37] <@aberrant[DM]> Somehow the chanting from below you is still continuing.
  322. [15:38] <AS> Feraku sprints to the new machine and begins doing the first thing that comes to her mind: turning the wheel.
  323. [15:38] <@aberrant[DM]> You notice a screen with a timer on it, not unlike your doomsday timer.
  324. [15:38] <@aberrant[DM]> While you struggle with the wheel, you notice the timer does not actually read zero.
  325. [15:39] <@aberrant[DM]> It reads 1:30 and is slowly counting down in bright blue numerals.
  326. [15:39] <@aberrant[DM]> Make a strength check
  327. [15:39] <AS> !roll 1d20-1
  328. [15:39] <`DICE> AS rolled 1d20-1 [ 1d20=15 ]{14}
  329. [15:39] <@aberrant[DM]> The wheels seems to be stuck.
  330. [15:39] <@aberrant[DM]> Something is bumping up against the lid on the top.
  331. [15:40] <AS> Feraku hits the lid.
  332. [15:40] <AS> !roll 1d20-1 for strength
  333. [15:40] <`DICE> AS rolled 1d20-1 for strength [ 1d20=7 ]{6}
  334. [15:40] <@aberrant[DM]> Bonk.
  335. [15:41] <@aberrant[DM]> The lid considers itself bonked.
  336. [15:41] <@aberrant[DM]> It gains a +2 bonus to its Bonkage stat.
  337. [15:41] <AS> Feraku hits it harder!
  338. [15:41] <AS> !roll 1d20-1
  339. [15:41] <`DICE> AS rolled 1d20-1 [ 1d20=19 ]{18}
  340. [15:42] <@aberrant[DM]> Amelia, you see Feraku standing next to this thing and smashing it over and over again with her fist. She seems really frustrated.
  341. [15:42] <@aberrant[DM]> You put a sizeable dent in the lid, opening a slight gap around the edge of the lid.
  342. [15:42] <OD> OD: Feraku, what the hell are you doing?
  343. [15:42] <AS> AS: Trying to get this thing off
  344. [15:42] <@aberrant[DM]> 1:15
  345. [15:42] <AS> Feraku hits it near the dented side.
  346. [15:43] <AS> !roll 1d20-1
  347. [15:43] <`DICE> AS rolled 1d20-1 [ 1d20=16 ]{15}
  348. [15:43] <@aberrant[DM]> You dent it slightly more, and the gap opens a bit wider to about a millimeter.
  349. [15:44] <AS> "Are you kidding me?"
  350. [15:44] <AS> Feraku shoots it with her science wand.
  351. [15:44] * OD attempts to help Feraku
  352. [15:46] <@aberrant[DM]> ((OD, you're going to need to be more specific :P))
  353. [15:46] * OD attempts to take the lid off of CRUXTRUDER
  354. [15:46] <@aberrant[DM]> You stand back and point your laser wand at the lid. The usual light shoots forth, but you feel an unusual shiver run down your spine and down your arm.
  355. [15:46] <@aberrant[DM]> Amelia, you notice that when you try and click on the CRUXTRUDER it flashes red and a little error noise comes out of your speakers.
  356. [15:47] <AS> ((so does the lid pop off?))
  357. [15:47] <@aberrant[DM]> The light from your wand suddenly flashes purple and the lid flies up into the air.
  358. [15:47] <@aberrant[DM]> It's never done that before, but WHO THE FUCK CARES IT WORKED.
  359. [15:50] <AS> Feraku goes to turn the wheel
  360. [15:51] <@aberrant[DM]> You turn the wheel and a strange sparkly deep blue cylinder flies out of the tube on the top along with a floating strobe light thing covered in complicated patterns. It really kind of hurts your eyes to look at!
  361. [15:51] <@aberrant[DM]> So..... what was the point of all of that?
  362. [15:51] <@aberrant[DM]> What's even going on?
  363. [15:51] <AS> Holy crap strobe lights!
  364. [15:52] <AS> Throw the first thing in your inventory at it!
  365. [15:54] <@aberrant[DM]> ((==>))
  366. [15:54] <AS> The first thing in your inventory is the shitty fanfiction that you wrote back when you were 6 sweeps old.
  367. [15:55] <@aberrant[DM]> You chuck it out of your inventory for some reason at the flashy light but it just darts away into the elevator!
  368. [15:55] <AS> ((does it matter what type of fanfiction or can i just say it's shitty fanfiction))
  369. [15:55] <@aberrant[DM]> Your fanfiction lands with a thud on one of the sciencey desks, shoving a collection of stuff out of the way and onto the floor.
  370. [15:55] <@aberrant[DM]> ((depends. What is it generally about?))
  371. [15:56] <AS> ((let's say that it's a TOME fanfiction about Nylocke x Kirbopher))
  372. [15:57] <AS> ((i can replace the media it's about with something else if you want since nobody watches tome))
  373. [15:57] <@aberrant[DM]> ((no that's fine ==>))
  374. [15:58] <AS> Feraku grabs the fanfic so nobody finds it and goes to turn the wheel.
  375. [15:58] <@aberrant[DM]> Another dark blue sparkly cylinder flies out of the tube, rolling onto the floor.
  376. [15:58] <@aberrant[DM]> 1:00
  377. [15:59] <AS> Feraku grabs the cylinder, and with fanfic in one hand and cylinder in the other, runs after the glowing strobe ball thing.
  378. [16:00] <@aberrant[DM]> It continues to be garishly annoying in the elevator, but thankfully it can't actually press any buttons it seems
  379. [16:00] <@aberrant[DM]> How the hell is this thing floating anyways
  380. [16:00] <@aberrant[DM]> ?
  381. [16:00] <AS> "I got you cornered!"
  382. [16:00] <AS> Feraku throws the shitty fanfiction at it.
  383. [16:01] <@aberrant[DM]> It dodges out of the way again. The elevator doors shut as the tower shakes again with a tremendous CRASH, even closer this time.
  384. [16:01] <@aberrant[DM]> You hear a loud cascading of tumbling stone from somewhere outside.
  385. [16:01] <AS> "oh shit oh shit oh shit"
  386. [16:02] <AS> Feraku reaches for the 5 button.
  387. [16:02] <@aberrant[DM]> The elevator begins shakily rising.
  388. [16:06] <@aberrant[DM]> The elevator opens at the fifth floor.
  389. [16:06] <OD> OD: Feraku, what are you doing?
  390. [16:07] <@aberrant[DM]> Quite a few things seem to have tumbled off your desk in the meantime from the explosions outside.
  391. [16:07] <AS> AS: I have no idea
  392. [16:07] <@aberrant[DM]> Amelia, you see the timer now reads 0:45 on the tubey machine thing
  393. [16:09] <@aberrant[DM]> Another explosion wracks the tower and you hear a loud screeching noise outside, Feraku.
  394. [16:09] <AS> "WYVERNMOM"
  395. [16:09] <AS> Feraku glances out the window.
  396. [16:09] <AS> She opens the window.
  397. [16:10] <@aberrant[DM]> You see a winged shape silhouetted against the orange sky flying erratically towards your tower.
  398. [16:10] <@aberrant[DM]> It gets about 50 feet away before spiraling downwards and crashing into the foliage at the base of your tower.
  399. [16:10] <@aberrant[DM]> That was definitely Wyvernmom and she was definitely bloody.
  400. [16:11] <AS> "OH SHIT"
  401. [16:11] <AS> Maybe the ball thing has magic healing powers.
  402. [16:11] <@aberrant[DM]> Speaking of which, the ball moves in front of your face, flashing annoyingly before retreating to the weird machine with the blades and slot.
  403. [16:11] <AS> "What do I do here?"
  404. [16:12] <AS> AS: Are you sure you deployed everything
  405. [16:13] <OD> OD: Well, there's this card thing. And when I asked about it, you never responded.
  406. [16:13] <OD> OD: I'll deploy it
  407. [16:13] <AS> AS: Sorry about that
  408. [16:13] * OD DEPLOYS EMPTY CAPTCHALOGUE CARD
  409. [16:15] <AS> Feraku picks it up and puts it in the machine slot thing.
  410. [16:15] <AS> The ball was gesturing to it.
  411. [16:15] <@aberrant[DM]> The blades on the top of the machine rearrange themselves into a complex pattern
  412. [16:15] <AS> Feraku sticks the cylinder thing in the blades.
  413. [16:17] <@aberrant[DM]> A clamp extends from the machine to hold it in place as another explosion shakes the tower.
  414. [16:17] <@aberrant[DM]> The loud alarm and flashing lights continue.
  415. [16:17] <@aberrant[DM]> 0:45
  416. [16:18] <AS> Feraku throws more fanfics at the ball again before running to get some backup weapons.
  417. [16:19] <@aberrant[DM]> roll dexterity
  418. [16:19] <AS> !roll 1d20+1
  419. [16:19] <`DICE> AS rolled 1d20+1 [ 1d20=19 ]{20}
  420. [16:20] <@aberrant[DM]> The flashy thing tries to zip out of the way again but it finds the table in the way.
  421. [16:21] <@aberrant[DM]> Your fanfiction disappears in a bright flash of light!
  422. [16:21] <@aberrant[DM]> Congratulations, you now have a flashy strobe light of blue fanfiction in your face.
  423. [16:21] <AS> "Well at least my fanfiction is gone forever.
  424. [16:21] <AS> "
  425. [16:21] <@aberrant[DM]> This is definitely a lot better than before.
  426. [16:21] <AS> "Now it's...all flashy...."
  427. [16:21] <@aberrant[DM]> It's more annoying and your fanfiction is blue and floating now. What more could you want?
  428. [16:21] <AS> Feraku goes to check on the cylinder in the blade machine.
  429. [16:22] <@aberrant[DM]> The cylinder has been carved into some weird wibbly shape
  430. [16:22] <AS> Feraku grabs the cylinder and goes to see what the final machine hs to do with this.
  431. [16:24] <@aberrant[DM]> It looks like a giant round table with a small side table with complicated geometric shapes etched on both surfaces.
  432. [16:25] <AS> Feraku sticks it on the small side table. It looks like a perfect fit.
  433. [16:25] <@aberrant[DM]> A strange arm extends from inside the machine and sweeps across the cylinder with a small laser beam.
  434. [16:26] <@aberrant[DM]> I brilliant flash or white light comes from the large table.
  435. [16:26] <AS> Feraku looks at the light.
  436. [16:26] <@aberrant[DM]> There is a pile of jigsaw puzzle pieces sitting in a jumbled heap.
  437. [16:26] <@aberrant[DM]> Amelia, you notice the timer says 0:30
  438. [16:26] <AS> "How am I supposed to solve this?"
  439. [16:26] <AS> Feraku spreads them out and estimates the number of pieces.
  440. [16:27] <@aberrant[DM]> There seems to be about 25.
  441. [16:27] <AS> Oh, only 25. This is going to be easy. First the corner pieces....
  442. [16:27] <@aberrant[DM]> A large explosion shakes the tower again and some of the pieces fly up in the air
  443. [16:27] <AS> Fuck.
  444. [16:27] <AS> Feraku arranges the edge and corner pieces into a pattern that works.
  445. [16:28] <OD> OD: Feraku, you have 30 seconds.
  446. [16:28] <OD> Whatever you're doing, you may wanna do it quick.
  447. [16:28] <AS> AS: I'm trying
  448. [16:29] <@aberrant[DM]> It's really hard when all the pieces are essentially the same cerulean blue color with no picture, but you eventually get the edge pieces worked out
  449. [16:29] <AS> Feraku fills in the puzzle from the edges.
  450. [16:30] <@aberrant[DM]> make an intelligence roll
  451. [16:30] <AS> !roll 1d20+2
  452. [16:30] <`DICE> AS rolled 1d20+2 [ 1d20=17 ]{19}
  453. [16:30] <@aberrant[DM]> You assemble the remainder of the puzzle.
  454. [16:30] <@aberrant[DM]> 0:15
  455. [16:31] <@aberrant[DM]> One of the center pieces is missing.
  456. [16:31] <OD> OD: 15 seconds, Feraku
  457. [16:31] <AS> Feraku scrambles roudn trying to find that last piece.
  458. [16:31] <@aberrant[DM]> You frantically search the vicinity trying to find where the other pieces could have gone
  459. [16:31] <@aberrant[DM]> 10
  460. [16:31] <@aberrant[DM]> you look under your desk
  461. [16:31] <@aberrant[DM]> 9
  462. [16:31] <@aberrant[DM]> by the recuperacoon
  463. [16:31] <@aberrant[DM]> 8
  464. [16:31] <AS> Behind the alchemiter
  465. [16:32] <@aberrant[DM]> not there either
  466. [16:32] <@aberrant[DM]> 7
  467. [16:32] <@aberrant[DM]> You feel a strange feeling in your head
  468. [16:32] <@aberrant[DM]> 6
  469. [16:32] <AS> strange feeling
  470. [16:32] <AS> not now, minister
  471. [16:32] <@aberrant[DM]> For some reason, you feel a shiver down your spine and the very precise location of inside an overturned pencil jar on your desk comes to mind.
  472. [16:32] <@aberrant[DM]> 5
  473. [16:32] <AS> Feraku looks under the pencil jar
  474. [16:32] <@aberrant[DM]> 4
  475. [16:32] <@aberrant[DM]> A single blue puzzle piece sits there
  476. [16:32] <@aberrant[DM]> 3
  477. [16:33] <AS> Feraku picks it up and runs back
  478. [16:33] <@aberrant[DM]> 2
  479. [16:33] <AS> Feraku puts it in the puzzle
  480. [16:33] <@aberrant[DM]> 1
  481. [16:33] <@aberrant[DM]> The puzzle fuses together in an instant and you see an image of your castle and landscape.
  482. [16:33] <@aberrant[DM]> Everything in the background is in flames.
  483. [16:34] <@aberrant[DM]> Then there is a tremendous flash of red light and everything gets VERY VERY hot.
  484. [16:34] <@aberrant[DM]> With a roar, everything is silent.
  485. [16:34] <AS> "So long, and thanks for all the glubbeasts!"
  486. [16:34] <@aberrant[DM]> Amelia, you see a bright orange and red flash on your screen and then everything goes black.
  487. [16:35] <@aberrant[DM]> Feraku, everything is dark, as though it were nighttime. All of your lights have gone out. The alarm stopped. Everything is quiet. Even the chanting downstairs has ceased.
  488. [16:35] <OD> OD: Feraku?
  489. [16:35] <AS> Feraku looks out the window.
  490. [16:35] <@aberrant[DM]> Everything is black.
  491. [16:35] <@aberrant[DM]> You can't even see the castle grounds from here.
  492. [16:35] <AS> Feraku shines a flashlight out the window.
  493. [16:36] <@aberrant[DM]> Amelia, Feraku doesn't seem to be answering.
  494. [16:36] <@aberrant[DM]> Were.... were you too late?
  495. [16:36] <@aberrant[DM]> You shine the light out the window
  496. [16:36] <@aberrant[DM]> Your light seems to shine out out into the darkness from the top of your tower, but it's hard to tell what it hits down below since you're 5 stories up.
  497. [16:37] <AS> AS: I cannot see anything
  498. [16:37] <@aberrant[DM]> Looking for closely, though, it does seems as though what you can see stops abruptly, cutting off part of the castle down below.
  499. [16:37] <@aberrant[DM]> You can only see a small little circular section of land around your tower, the rest of the castle is gone.
  500. [16:37] <OD> OD: Neither can I
  501. [16:37] <AS> Feraku takes the elevator down to the first floor.
  502. [16:38] <@aberrant[DM]> Amelia, your vision on your screen slowly fades back and you see Feraku's empty room.
  503. [16:38] <@aberrant[DM]> The elevator reaches the first floor.
  504. [16:38] <OD> OD: Now, I see your room. Without you in it?
  505. [16:39] <AS> Feraku steps out the door.
  506. [16:39] <AS> AS: I'm at the first floor
  507. [16:40] <@aberrant[DM]> You see the first floor as usual, albeit much messier than normal with lots of things toppled over, but down the hallway you see the castle just abruptly stop.
  508. [16:40] <@aberrant[DM]> It's as if someone took a giant knife and just cut off that wing of the castle leaving a gaping hole to the outside.
  509. [16:41] <@aberrant[DM]> Not unlike the results of your staring contest.
  510. [16:41] <AS> Feraku looks down the part where it abruptly stops.
  511. [16:41] * OD moves the view down to the first floor
  512. [16:41] <@aberrant[DM]> The ground continues outside, but it is dark.
  513. [16:41] <@aberrant[DM]> You look outside.
  514. [16:42] <@aberrant[DM]> You see a foreign landscape stretching out in front of you. This is definitely not what you saw outside a little while ago.
  515. [16:43] <@aberrant[DM]> A relatively mountainous terrain plunged into darkness lies before you, and you seem to be up on the top of one such peak. It doesn't seem dark like it were dusk or nighttime, but oppressively dark.
  516. [16:44] <@aberrant[DM]> Most of everything you see is drained of light and color. The ground beneath your feet is black, and there doesn't seem to be much vegetation in the relatively barren ground.
  517. [16:44] <@aberrant[DM]> The sky swirls with deep intense purple clouds that occasionally strike with crackling lightning of intense bright color.
  518. [16:45] <@aberrant[DM]> Crystals, mushrooms, hot springs, and anything similarly brightly colored are sprinkled across the landscape, glowing gently with intense color across the spectrum.
  519. [16:45] <@aberrant[DM]> In the distance you see more hills and mountains dotted with various hues of bright glowing dots.
  520. [16:45] <@aberrant[DM]> Very little vegetation seems to be in the area except in the lower-lying areas which are covered in silver grass.
  521. [16:46] <@aberrant[DM]> The entire land smells somewhat damp and musty and things are generally quiet save for the thunder and a gurgling noise you notice is coming from a nearby stream of viscous black liquid flowing past your house.
  522. [16:46] <@aberrant[DM]> Welcome to the Land of Luminescence and <insert garbled text>!
