[PS4] Kingdom Hearts 1 Final Mix Platinum Trophy RTA F.A.Q

Q: What does RTA stand for?

A: RTA = Real Time Attack. In this context, we get every single trophy in the game from start to finish in real time. Timing for this run starts on beginning a New Game and finishes on Platinum Trophy Pop-up notification.

Q: How long is this expected to take?

A: Estimate is somewhere between 12 - 14 hours. This can vary depending on the drop rate of synthesis items and gummi ship blueprints. If something goes horribly wrong, I have no idea what the estimate would go to. Let's hope nothing awful happens! :)

Q: Why is the game in Japanese?

A: You cannot skip text box cutscenes in KH1. Japanese text takes the least amount of time to advance these, thus making Japanese the fastest version to run on.

Q: Can you read Japanese?

A: No. I can determine what said item/ability/piece of equipment is just by looking at a few characters in the name. I also ran this game a lot on English, so a fair amount of it is memory based when it comes to item locations in the game and in menus.

A: Once I complete this run, I will probably post my notes to pastebin. Just want to make sure everything works out!

Q: Why do a separate playthrough on Proud and then do everything on Beginner? Wouldn't it be better to do everything on Proud?

A: There is only one major issue with this, and that is the unchanged Equipment trophy. Even on Beginner Mode your damage is pretty pitiful by Hollow Bastion. That's inclusive of the 8 power ups at the start. If you did this on Proud, not only would you do chip damage, you would die in 2 hits to everything. On top of this, we can't die on Proud if we did everything in one playthrough because of the undefeated trophy. There are more reasons, but I think you get the picture now.

Q: Are you crazy?

A: I did an RTA of this on PS3 18 months ago. When difficulty trophies weren't stacked, you needed all gummi blueprints instead of just 30 and with significantly worse load times. So this isn't the craziest thing I've ever done.
