The First Day of The Rest Of Their Lives

[11:55] Sugarboy would awaken to the pleasant sensation of another warm body in his bed, his eyes slowly opening to see the white hair of the woman he loved. His lips would curl into a smile as he inhaled softly through his nose, taking in her subtle, floral scent.

He'd sit up in bed, using his water magic to stabilize the bed as not to disturb her. He'd take a moment to just admire her as she peacefully laid there.

eventually he'd find the strength to pull himself out of bed, carefully pulling the covers back over her and tucking her in, planting a small kiss on her forehead.

He'd saunter over to the kitchen, grabbing some flour, eggs, milk, and other goodies. Pancakes were on the menu for breakfast when the Drakanite would awaken.

The sweet smell of food would permeate the air as he would quietly cook, humming a happy little song to himself.

[13:04] Euyitl would awake to the smell and warmth of morning food being prepared. A slow rise from the water bed, tussling lightly here and there to the unfamiliar waves. But she'd slip away eventually, soon to enter the main living area, quickly finding Sugarboy.

"Morning, love. What're you doing?" She'd ask, with genuine curiosity as few steps are taken, enough to stand at his side, overlooking his shoulders to grasp a peek.

[13:14] He'd look over with a smile on his face as he was conveniently flipping the last pancake, letting the other side brown up nicely.

"Good morning, sweetheart~ Just making some pancakes for breakfast." He'd hop up onto his toes and kiss her cheek before moving the pancake onto a plate which had a fat stack on it.

"I already got milk, syrup, and butter on the table for us- I hope you're hungry because I think I may have made too much!" he'd laugh as he carried the comical sized tower of breakfast food over to the table.

[13:23] "Pancakes... I don't believe I'd had pancakes before." Smiling as she'd receive the kiss to her cheek, returning one of her own to his as well before moving to sit at the table.

"I understand milk... Not quite sure what the other two are I'm afraid." And right on queue, her stomach begun to grumble quite audibly. Chuckling. "Mh, it seems I'm very much hungry dear. I appreciate the meal you've prepared."

[13:27] Sugarboy would laugh as he set two other plates out for them , complete with utensils.

"Oh you're gonna love this then- make sure you butter your pancakes first- butter is like a heavy whipped form of milk.. Then you just drizzle your syrup across- it's like a sweet mapley… Syrup." He'd laugh, unsure how to describe it's thick consistency.

He'd go ahead and put a couple of pancakes on his plate, showing her how he prepared his.

"And then ya just dig in!"

[13:32] She'd chuckle and nod, following his instructions of buttering a couple pancakes as they were placed upon her own plate.

"Mh, smells delicious." She'd comment before adding syrup, it's smell... Was very different than anything she smelled before... Slowly adding more and more until her pancakes were literally soaked within it's thick consistency.

But she'd kiss Sugarboy's cheek before she'd begin to dig in. Her eyes briefly widening upon the sweet flavors the syrup provided, the light bitterness the butter and pancakes brought...

She'd blush while chewing, her taste buds fluttering off to the heavens. "Mmmmmmh~"

[14:02] he would laugh to himself as he watched her drench her pancakes in the unpetrified amber known as syrup, chowing down on the flapjacks he had prepared for the both of them.

Sugarboy wasn't much of a baker, his knowledge of cooking stemmed mostly to sea food and rice based dishes. But he was a top tier alchemist, and he relished in the challenge of trying something new.

And for a first attempt, they actually came out pretty good! He'd join Euyitl in humming in ecstasy as they enjoyed their sweet little breakfast together.

His foot would move under the table to rub against hers. Finishing off his plate he'd ask, "So what didja wanna do today, my love?"

[14:18] He'd push back into her hands as she massaged his shoulders, "Mmmm.. Yeah, we can go do inventory in the lab, check to make sure the undead haven't gone awry.. I should probably check in to Huangzhao to make sure the clinic isn't overswarmed with patients.. And then how about we do some fishing, hmm?"

He'd lean his head back to look up at her, a smile on his face as he had an outline of their plan for the day.

[14:24] "Sounds like a good day." She'd say, agreeing with all that he needed to do for the day and what he had planned for them both to enjoy at the end of it.

She'd lean in to place a kiss to his lips as he'd look up to her. "I'm quite prepared to go whenever you are, my love."

[14:29] He'd reach up and place a hand on her cheek, extending the kiss just a little longer.

"Let me go ahead an change into my work clothes and we can head out~"

He'd stand up and walk over to the bedroom, quickly changing out of his beach attire before calling out to her.

"Oh! Do you want to leave anything from your bag? I got a couple of chests over here with not a whole lot in 'em. Feel free to make use of them~"

[14:53] Sugarboy would lead euyitl around the lab, looking for the woman who had taken in him as a retainer. However, upon not finding her, he'd head into his little workshop.

He'd pull out a piece of paper and take inventory of all the reagents and food he had on hand. He'd grab some water and fire crystals from the chest with a single rope root, taking it over to the cauldron, he'd quickly craft a smoke bomb, handing it to Euyitl.

"Juuuuust in case we find ourselves in over our head for any reason."

[14:53] Euyitl asks, "What is this?"

[14:54] Sugarboy exclaims, "It's a smoke bomb, you pull that fuse there and it makes it so you can live to fight another day!"

[14:55] Sugarboy asks, "Onto Huang- do you want to make a pit stop anywhere?"
[14:55] Euyitl smiles as she takes the smokebomb.

[14:56] "Then Awaaay we goo!" he'd turn around and squat down, inviting her to hop on his back.

[14:59] Sugarboy asks, "What's up?"
[14:59] Euyitl says, "Hm? Ah, nothing."

[15:04] Looking over to the one that waved Edo gave her a small polite smile followed by a dip of his head.

"Hello."

He said in return to her wave, but he did not part his hands from his sleeves.

"I've seen you about Huangzhou a time or two. Do you call Huangzhou home?"

The monk asked with a risen brow.

[15:06] Sugarboy would walk into Huang's square with a very attractive, and notably uninjured Drakanite woman on his back. He'd turn seeing Tenevan.

"Yooo Tenevan! What's been goin on? I've been outta town for a couple weeks. Clinic isn't overrun with patients, is it?" he'd ask with a big grin on his face.

[15:07] This man was certainly different from the others that she had met, never once had one lacked a head of hair... Truly peculiar though was a question for another time, not something you bring up on the first moment of meeting.

"Hi there."

There was the idea if she might call Huangzhou home, now that was hard. Being here often and being somewhere else often typically made her home wherever her physical form happened to be. She was here now, so perhaps?

"I guess that you could say this is my home, I am here now and often enough."

[15:08] Tenevan blinks into consciousness as he's adressed, briefly rubbing his forehead. He turns his head towards Sugarboy, and tosses out a friendly smile.

"Ah, yes-yes, there have been some injuries, some wounded... but we're doing well, overall."

He nodded twice, turning properly. He glances at the Drakanite following the man, raises a brow, then turns his attention back to the blonde.

"Good to have you back, Sugarboy. Who's this, anyhow?"

He nods his head in Euyitls direction, keeping his focus on the man for now.

[15:09] "Indeed, he has, and truly, humanity is a fickle thing," said the magi, before closing his eyes.

"And I feel only sadness and sorrow. For I cannot blame him for his downfall. Eming, that was his name. He's gone no more, yet his beloved wishes to bring him back to life," added the Anauel.

And perhaps the stoicism he donned was a testament of hiding his true feelings; feelings that he admitted with weak eloquence.

There was a pause, however, as he slowly opened up his eyes staring beyond south towards the vast, endless seas.

"Eming, the vampires, and previously of their holding of me brought upon me epiphany.

A realization that, like what you said, humans are different from monsters because they're willing to change. Though, monsters, on the other hand of whom once were humans. Who created them? A question that I so beg to answer, and one I can only question with another rhetoric: Are we, humanity, responsible for creating them?

That is what I feel, Vincula. If that ever makes sense."

[15:13] The Drakanite was noticeably taller than Sugarboy, even as she's wrapped herself on his back. An emotionless gaze rested upon the stranger Sugarboy was speaking to, there lied little interest to communicate. Yet she'd still utter a few words.

"Euyitl." A subtle nod of her head follows, a respective one for greetings. Large dark blue wings fluttered slightly as she simply rested upon his back in silence.

[15:18] He'd smile hearing Huang was doing well while he was away, and even wider when Euyitl spoke up.

"Yeah, she's the love of my life~ We were separated for a couple years, but we're back together, so you'll probably see the two of us around here and there." He'd say playfully bouncing her up and down.

"Guess I should go check in with Kyrstina or Dr. Hida to see if they need my help or anything like that. It's good seeing ya Tenevan!"

He'd start making his way towards the clinic.

[15:22] The Merman's expression shifted - surprise was plain as day when the man referred to the Drakanite as the love of his life. His gaze flicked between him and her for a few brief moments before he focused on the blonde again, nodding once more.

Upon mention of Kyrstina, he became somewhat more... tense. The Siren scratched the side of his head, pursing his lips for a brief while before figuring out a reply.

"Uh. Kyrstina's..." He swallowed. "She's dead, Sugar. There was some eldritch ritual, and..."

The Merman sighed, shaking his head.

"I'm not going to go into it. Suffice to say, it was bad stuff."

[15:25] There was a subtle flicker within her violet hues once the merman spoke of the woman and what has become of her. Her gaze shifting to Sugarboy's face, her hug around him, tightened slightly.

Legs slipped from his grasp in order to stand on hind feet that were covered in feathers and claws in place of toes. Silent still, but comforting to Sugarboy.

[15:32] Euyitl would feel his grasp weaken upon hear the news. His jaw would drop a bit as he was speechless. He would turn to Euyitl and embrace her.

Who would even think of hurting Kyrstina? She was always so kind, so helpful. He couldn't even fathom it.. Was it people from Dawn? Vampires? He had little knowledge of rituals, but he took Tenevan's word it wasn't pretty.

Sugarboy would find the strength to pull away from Euyitl and face Tenevan again, keeping an arm around her waist.

"Who... Who's going to take care of poor Kyrina?" He'd ask, his tone solemn

[15:36] Britta whispers: Welcome back Sugarboy.. Eclipsa and Leona have been publically executed, Kyrstina is dead, and Huangzhou is in need for more doctors.. I'm currently waiting to be trained as one.
[15:36] That was a good question, but one Tenevan had no answer to. The Merman looked somewhat troubled - it's not like he'd known the woman, but it was never good to have someone die a death like that.

He sighed softly, shaking his head.

"I'm sorry, friend. Best ask around the clinic, or her friends. I don't really know anything more."

Well, this had taken a far more depressing turn. The Merman looked off into the distance for a few moments before focusing back on the man.

"I wish you well otherwise, but there's nothing more I know of the matter."

[15:40] She stood and accepted the hug, perhaps encouraging it after Sugarboy had retrieved the unfortunate news. Arms wrapped around him in a warm embrace, before he'd pull himself away. Yet she'd still stand at his side, words weren't needed be expressed between the two when they understood one another so well.

[15:43] Sugarboy would nod at Tenevan as the conversation had ended. His attention would turn to Britta as she delivered even more bad news. He would simply focus on his duties to push through the sorrow he felt.

"Ah, then let's head to the clinic then. I can give you both a lesson if you'd like, and I can get back to treating patients." His hand wrapped around Euyitl's waist would move to hold her hand as he started moving to the clinic.

He would turn and look at Britta, "How did Aaron's surgery go?"

[15:50] Britta sighed and then shook her head.

"With Kyrstina's death, Hidatsu being away, Yuki not knowing much about it, and you being away as well, the surgery has been put off, she is waiting for you. Recently though she did get injured in the battle against Dawn. After helping Terra with her wounds, I felt comfortable enough to take care of Aaron during her recovery until Yuki could get the time to fix her collapsed lung."

[15:59] The blonde doctor would let out an audible sigh, running his hand through his hair as the bad news seemed to continue to grow. Evidently he had picked a bad time to leave and search for Euyitl.

His eyes would rest on the female drakanite, despite hearing that two close friends of his had just passed, he would still be able to smile at her. His ocean blues meeting her violet hues.

Would any of this had happened if he stayed? Was it self centered to think he could've fixed any of it? He didn't care, he knew in his heart he made the right choice to reunite with Euyitl.

All he could do now was ride out the wave. "Very well, I will conduct Aaron's surgery as soon as I see her. Until then I will share whatever knowledge I have with the two of you.

Just so I have an idea where to start, what is your current knowledges of medicine?" He'd ask Britta and Schrei. Britta seemed to already have some knowledge and experience, he was less so sure of Schrei.

He stated nodding his head after he finished speaking.

[16:03] Britta nodded her head as she began to speak.

"Basic cuts and bruises, mostly battle wounds. I'm a cosmic magi with some nature magic knowledge as well, so from my understanding not only will I be able to aid the physical body due to the salves and spores I can produce, but with the spiritual connection that cosmic magi have, I can aid with ailments that afflict the soul such as the ones that the nethadrin inflicted upon numerous of us.

I've not yet learned to mend a broken bone, or properly do stitches, but I am able to tell the difference between superficial wounds and more grievous ones. I also have a small bit of knowledge when it comes to internal wounds as well as basic cleaning and sterilization thanks to having taken care of Aaron during her various blackouts."

[16:14] His eyes would shift over to Schrei, "Is occult magic the only magic you know?"

He would gesture to everyone to follow him to the waiting room. He stop by the office and grab some papers and pens, handing them to Britta and Schrei so that they can take notes.

[16:17] He'd hold out his hand and show wind magic.

"Us know vwind magic as vwell zee main reason vwhy vwe vwant to learn medical practices is to remove something... dangerous from ourself."

He'd state staring at Sugarboy as he sat down across from him.

[16:19] Britta could technically do that to Schrei... but it would probably permanently damage him or kill him.

[16:37] Blue eyes would watch Schrei perform his magic, and listen to his wish to be purified of his occultic magic. "I'll be real with you, Schrei. There is nothing learning magic can do to cure your affinity with the dark arts. I have, however, heard of people being cured in the Order or the Illuminated, or whatever it's called.. I think they'd be your best bet."

He'd pop his neck, leaning forward as if he was getting ready to start the lesson.

"Uh.. So I'm probably one of the more amateur doctors here.. And even how I conduct myself as a doctor is much different than how others might.

Every piece of magic I wield has some medicinal application to it. Water for cleaning wounds and draining any flooding. Fire for cauterizing wounds. Steam for sterilizing tools in the field. And holy energy as a makeshift anesthetic..

I might not be able to offer you the most technical training, but uh, I can definitely show you the broad strokes." He'd say with a nod.

[16:42] Britta nodded her head before speaking, something she often did.

"I spoke with Yuki a bit about it, and since I've already a general understanding of the body and basic practices, she felt the best way for me to learn would be a hands on approach, assisting a doctor when someone was injured. My wish, is to get a book on basic anatomy, so that I can see the layout of the human body, how bone placement should be, one that may cover the various types of breaks or dislocations within the joints. Outside of that, I don't really know what I'd be able to learn with just words, watching someone do stitching, or set a bone, or stimulate the growth of flesh and muscle, or applying a prosthetic, those are the things I would like to be able to see and learn.

I already plan on being present at Aaron's surgery to aid how I can. Until then, do you happen to know where I could find an anatomy book? Yuki suggested looking in the dojo's library, but all the medical books were in use already."

[16:51] sugaroy would fall back in his chair with a sigh of relief. "Oh thank god.. Yeah a hands on approach under the supervision of a doctor is an excellent way to go. And I actually have plenty of notes and books.. I can loan them to you, just make sure you take good care of them and bring them back." He'd stand up, reaching into his satchel he'd pull out a bunch of old papers.

The notes were thorough, and had detailed drawings in them discussing how to stitch wounds shut and set bones. There would be an anatomy and physiology book, as well as an intro to medicine that was taken from Dawn.

He'd pass them over to Britta with a smile.

[16:54] Britta smiled as she began to chuckle at Sugar's reaction, she then accepted the papers and books with a nod of her head.

"Don't worry, I won't leave them lying around or mistreat them, I know how important knowledge can be."

She quickly flipped through the anatomy and physiology book and then placed them into her pack along with the intro to medicine book, the papers were gently rolled and placed upon her waste in small pockets.

[16:57] He listened to the discussion and then chuckled before speaking once more.

"Us vwould like some documentation as vwell as us does vwant to learn zee medical processes. Sugarboy. Vwould you ve vine vwith us attending operations as vwell. Vwe know stitchvwork but not bone placement. Maybe us could learn how to use vwind magic like a precision knife to cut bodies open to see the insides during surgery."

He said throwing an idea out there that could show he was serious about learning how to examine people.

[17:03] The blonde doctor would nod, taking note of Schrei's enthusiasm. "Absolutely! Just be sure to visit the clinic often and regularly. I am always willing to let either of you sit in and watch, assist, or hell, if you're good enough at stitching I'll let ya take over!"

He'd say with a laugh as he got up from the chair. He'd smile at Euyitl, a hang outstretched to her.

"Tell Aaron we'll conduct her surgery soon- I've got something else I gotta do for a bit, but I promise I won't be gone for weeks this time~"

[17:03] Schrei Richtofen says, "Very vwell. Us has... vussiness as vwell at our families place out of town. Us vwill return very soon."
[17:03] Britta nodded her head a gain, she might be becoming a bobble head.. "Very well, anyways, I'm going to head out now, I've got to visit the housing administration in regards to two cases, I've also got tolocate Roanna.. I also think Aaron may be sleeping somewhere in the clinic right now but if I see her up and roaming around, I'll let her know you'll be taking care of her soon."
