  1. Hi @everyone a brief update on where we are and some information about the launch process.
  2.
  3. Firstly, the launch window hasn't changed, we're still aiming for the first half of September, likely the second week to give people a chance to settle back after their summer holidays.
  4.
  5. Secondly, we’ve taken notice of people asking to move the snapshot closer to the launch. There doesn’t seem to be any concerns about a pre-mine, so we are now planning to create a pre-mine a few days before we launch, rather than the planned fast mine for four weeks.
  6.
  7. If there are any unforeseen issues around Bittrex’s participation, we’ll let you know when we are able, but that engagement is somewhat driving our timings. We are working on the basis that you will be able to leave your coins on the exchange and be allocated your Helium coins. We know that Bittrex have the capability to do the allocations, but we have to wait for them to fully confirm participation.
  8.
  9. Just to be clear, we have made a detailed application to Bittrex, they have asked some questions and they have said that due to the potential for market manipulation, there is a period of confidentiality. So They if they will list, if they won't list is both out of our hands and we can't talk about it.
  10.
  11. The launch process itself will be a closed event. We’ll create the genesis block, the pre-mine and bring the difficulty up. If we are required, we’ll get an escrow and they will allocate the coins to Bittrex. It is likely that much of the closed period will be vetting of our code, plus a reconciliation process - how long that vetting takes will determine when we can open up mining and when coins will be allocated to you. We’ll be in the dark while this process takes place. Again, this is if Bittrex agree to participate.
  12.
  13. The coins mined during the closed period can be burned, or used according to instructions from you. As you know I am owed 100k SPR which was an agreement reached early on before I loaned those funds to the network in order to fund the start-up costs.
  14.
  15. Public mining will involve releasing all flavour of wallets and contacting pools - so we’ll be talking to pools ahead of the launch to get them to participate.
  16. Again, based on your feedback, the dark colour scheme won, so the wallets will be dark.
  17.
  18. An hour or two after making the wallets available, the master node voting platform will go live, so have your budget proposals ready and we’ll see who is the first on the board.
  19.
  20. As the voting platform goes live, you’ll also be able to start setting up your master nodes. A guide for that is just about ready, and I will fund some bounties for how-to videos which will be posted on YouTube.
  21.
  22. We have been warned that there will be some fees associated with any Bittrex participation – reconciliation process, checking pre-mine status. I have also said that I will cover those costs, hopefully they are reasonable. If anyone wants to buy some coins OTC, please let me know, otherwise I will be placing about 20k to 30k SPR on Bittrex to raise funds for these launch costs, and what is left over (hopefully quite a bit) will cover travel costs for several marketing events we are now signed up for.
  23.
  24. On that front, we have been asked to go on stage at one of the biggest technology events in the construction sector. It’s called Digital Construction Week and they have created a new technology slot for this two-day exhibition based on our entry into this market. Event details here:

  28. The invite to this conference was a result of our Enterprise customer conference on the 5th June, and you can read more about that at this new website which we will be using to engage with the construction sector.

  32. The speed at which we have gone from nowhere to being on the stage at one of the biggest construction events of the year is phenomenal. Our goal is to build on that first mover advantage and generate some brand recognition that we’re the ones to talk to when it comes to blockchain + construction + IoT + Smart Cities.
  33.
  34. Any feedback about the website will be greatly welcomed. We’ve already had some feedback and there will be a few changes made, especially to the home page.
  35.
  36. We are going to be picking up our promotional activities as we head into the launch, so it’s probably a good thing that we’re moving the snapshot date. Our existing and future promotional efforts should also make a good impression with Bittrex and other exchanges.
  37.
  38. Thank you all for being so patient. For those who have been here for a few months, you already know that it was our plan from the start to delay the launch as long as possible so that we can get a foothold in the construction Enterprise sector, and we’re doing that so it’s time to become a little more public facing and also launch our chain.
