— PERSONALITY : alicia is a introverted person, usually letting her actions speak louder than her words, and more often than not she's more of a listener than a speaker. despite loving being around people she cares about, social situations tire her easily and she will need/want some time just being alone. her slight social anxiety is a trait that developed throughout her "fat years" as a kid, and more often than not it causes her to just want to lie down at home and listen to her music. still, she pretends to be an outgoing person, always saying yes whenever coworkers or other friends ask her to hang out. it's a front to keep her parents off her back.. and maybe also the other girls who tell her that no, skype calling them every other night was not considered "socializing". so alicia goes out and tries to connect with her coworkers, even though not a lot of them really get her like the girls back in korea did. she's not really one to relay her sad emotions with other people, opting to act more like a reliable shoulder to lean on whenever anyone needs it. mostly because she doesn't want to be a burden to the others, but also because she feels as if she shouldn't really feel these things; after all, she was living well with a stable job and food on the table, why is she complaining? it's bad logic, she knows already considering her philosophy major, but she can't exactly help it. besides that, alicia prides herself in being independent. she knows that she can live on her own, and that she can do whatever she wanted like so. there's little you can't depend on her for. a lot like the mother of the group, anyone that's close to her can tell you that alicia will finish anything she has to by the deadline, or even earlier. she doesn't procrastinate (honestly, she'd rather die than do that) ever. it's a commendable trait that she had been given praise for ever since she was little, being responsible. she would always think ahead and think of everything she needed for something and go right to work with it. sometimes, though, she came off as pretentious. not just with her actions, but also her words. even now, her philosophical tangents and random use of her extensive vocabulary has most people stumped on how to continue conversation. perhaps it's because she's a little bit t o o competitive underneath all the quiet, and she's always wanted to be the winner. whether it was something like rock paper scissors or a final exam, alicia would be working her hardest to be on top. it's why she studied so hard, and worked so hard to get where she is right now mentally, emotionally, and physically.

— BACKGROUND : for most of her childhood, alicia was a chubby kid. she had a tendency to eat a LOT for her age and her metabolism wasn't exactly the golden child metabolism adults envied and vied for. it didn't really matter until she was twelve, though, when everyone began going through awkward phases and weird hairstyles and new discoveries. before then, everyone just thought of her as the cute foreign kid that would help any stranger for no reason other than she wanted to. once she became a teenager, suddenly every little thing about her physical appearance mattered, and soon people knew her for being the "fat girl" as well. she wasn't obese, but she was chubbier than most girls her age with full cheeks and round curves. her school years were hectic and rigorous, considering her filipino mother was a respected lawyer and her chinese father was a respected businessman. and while they didn't really mind what other interests she developed (like dancing), they always made passive-aggressive comments about how she should do things that they could brag about. so she was a hardworking student, wanting to please her parents and not really caring if the other kids thought she was weird. alicia would end up studying instead of hanging out with friends during the weekends; being made fun of and teased about how much she ate and about her weight wasn't exactly her favourite past time. she didn't have many other friends other than the 13, despite being the last member to join the clique. all the studying wasn't in vain, though, when she was accepted into the university of cambridge by some stroke of luck. england was breath-taking, and alicia tried to make the most of it while it lasted. she got the full college experience, especially when she got her little (big) make-over. she continued her mission on becoming healthier even in england. sooner than she realized, she developed new curves that she felt proud of, and she even got strength (literally and metaphorically) from it. though she had a the case of homesickness, missing the friends she had when she was still in korea, they made sure to keep in touch with her considering her rigorous schedule and major— she had double majored in business and philosophy, a nightmare.

— PERSONALITY : despite being kind of shy at first when meeting new people, he's quite the charismatic person. beautiful and alluring, he catches a person's eye as well as their interest with the stories he tells. kind of a chatterbox and makes too many jokes that seem to make either everyone or absolutely no one in the room laugh, he's refreshing to be around. there is never a dull moment with him around. he's also a gentleman (on most days, anyway). he explodes confidence which might rub on you the wrong way at first but.. with that face you can't really blame him. has the tendency to be touchy/clingy towards others, especially if he feels close with you. bright and energetic, he seems to be almost like an exact opposite of her. he's enthusiastic about pretty much everything, and will always try to make people smile-- especially if they're obviously in a bad mood; he's one of the people that believe the saying "laughter is the best medicine". it does make him quite hypocritical, then, that he doesn't do the same for himself. his emotions tend to be bottled up and hidden away, since he thinks that it would show that he's weak, and he thinks it makes him less reliable. he has some trust issues when it comes to opening up, but he is a good shoulder to cry on, or just a great person to rant to. will sometimes have his off days, but will always deny the fact, and just change the topic.

— LOVE STORY (2007) : they first met in her third year of high school. he had spotted her sneakily trying to watch the dance team practice a routine after school, and noticed that, even after they left she had stayed behind. he pretended to have left with his team, but was actually just a few feet away, watching as the girl entered the practice room after looking around. he waited a few seconds before peeking inside through the large window near the practice room. it was more than shocking to him, to say the least, when the girl began doing the choreography for the dance— awkward-looking, and definitely not something that fit her, but he was surprised when it seemed that she had memorized most of the moves. they locked eyes in the mirror, and alicia was more than embarrassed when he entered the room and began to ask questions (her name is alicia, she's in her second year of high school, no she doesn't do any sports, and she really did not mean to be in this room). truth be told, he had noticed her presence before that day, noticed some girl hanging around the room after school, but never really paid any attention to it until today. he was curious about her, about the reason as to why, so he decided to keep an eye out. he let her go that day, watching the following days as she would wait for the dance team to leave and do their choreography (for only about twenty minutes until she became too tired). a week later, he confronted her. asked why she was suddenly learning the choreography. it was because she wanted to be fit, her new year's resolution, but only ever got around to doing it late in the second semester. that was how her sudden training began, with him as her coach. at first, she was incredibly awkward, since they never really talked before that. it was also very awkward when the progress seemed to be very slow because, well, alicia was constantly stressed and her habit of binge eating didn't help. then suddenly during her last year, he decided to start making her do weights and workouts along with the dancing, trying to encourage that she didn't need to stop eating to lost weight. when they ate together, trained together, they found themselves becoming closer to each other quite quickly, his personality quite easy for her to warm up to. it was sad when she realized that she had to leave for university ("isn't that your dream college? i'm so proud of you noona!"). it was a teary day when she graduated, and when he accompanied her to the airport along with her family (who treated him like a second child, actually), she made a (pinky) promise to him that she would continue the little workout regime that they worked out for her whilst she was in england. a few weeks after alicia had left, he had ended up breaking his phone and didn't have enough money to buy a new one.

— LOVE STORY (2017) : he had been the one to be assigned to pick her up from the airport, seeing as the other members of their group thought that they would want to be reunited for the first time in YEARS. he was waiting at the airport for her and alicia, recognizing him immediately, goes up to him and says "what's up?". unfortunately, he doesn't really recognize her, and tells her that he's "waiting for his old uber bff" and she's lowkey hurt because he found a new bff after she left but THEN he says "tell me if you see anyone named alicia!!" n she giggles and says that it IS her. their interactions in general are just funny, and most of the time it's because he decides to act wild and she tries to keep him in check. he's nothing different from what he would usually be around people, maybe a bit wilder since he's comfortable with her. she, however, feels a bit nervous. even though he continually comments on how well her efforts paid off, alicia can't help but be a bit insecure around him. after all, he had been the start of her little weight-losing mission, she was nervous as to whether or not he actually thought the things he said.
