Newly paroled ex-con and former U.S. Ranger Cameron Poe finds himself trapped in a prisoner transport plane when the passengers seize control.
Cameron Poe, a highly decorated United States Army Ranger, came home to Alabama to his wife, Tricia, only to run into a few drunken regulars where Tricia works. Cameron unknowingly kills one of the drunks and is sent to a federal penitentiary for involuntary manslaughter for seven years. Cameron becomes eligible for parole and can now go home to his wife and daughter. Unfortunately, Cameron has to share a prison airplane with some of the country's most dangerous criminals, who took control of the plane and are now planning to escape the country. Cameron has to find a way to stop them while playing along. Meanwhile, United States Marshal Vincent Larkin is trying to help Cameron get free and stop the criminals, including Cyrus "The Virus" Grissom.
What a stupid movie this was. Nicolas Cage acted like a real idiot in this one. It seemed like he was daydreaming throughout the entire film. He had no personality, and he never seemed to react to anything that was going on. And his accent sounded so stupid. Even if I didn't know it was a fake accent, I'd still think he sounds stupid. Also, Nicolas Cage seem to be invincable. There were so many times he should have been killed. But, everyone knows that the star of the movie never dies. "Glory" was an exception because it was a true story. Also, the story was pointless and the jokes were not funny. I give this film a 7 out of 10.
Entertaining and at least the good guy wins!
The saving grace of Con Air is its sense of its own absurdity.
During the fight, Billy-Joe pulls a switch-blade on Cameron. Cameron responds by striking Billy-Joe in the nose, causing him to die from blunt-force trauma to the head. When Billy-Joe&#39;s friends flee the scene, one of them grabs the switch-blade off the ground. Therefore making a self-defence case difficult to prove. As the only witness Cameron had was his wife Trisha and even she ran off to get Dale the bartender before Billy-Joe pulled the knife, therefore she didn&#39;t witness what happened.<br/><br/>During his trial, Cameron refused to plead guilty. However, his lawyer gives him poor advice, stating that he risked getting 10 years if the case went to trial and he lost. But by admitting to it, he&#39;d only get 4 years and serve maybe a year for good behaviour. For whatever reason, this wasn&#39;t a plea deal, but lawyer&#39;s advice. So when he plead guilty, the judge seemingly decided to make an example out of Cameron, believing that Cameron, being a former Army Ranger didn&#39;t think the normal rules of society applied to him and that he is trained to respond with deadly force, therefore making him a danger to society and therefore gave him a sentence of 7-10 years.  a5c7b9f00b
