- Start: 6 am, Moonsday (Monday) Midsummer 21, 401 GA
- The party decided to investigate both sides before deciding on a way to proceed.
- They found a note immediately next to the right passage, reading as follows.
- Be wary of the shadows. I left a tool by the sarcophagi, if you need a bit of help. -I- wouldn't get too close. The golems may have made a mess of the place. I'll have to be a bit more careful next time, and imbue them with intelligence. In any case, as I am sure you remember, you don't need to vanquish all of the guardians, you only need to reach the portal. Toodles again! Ciao!
- They decided to explore the left path for now. After a bit of exploration, they found its note. It read as follows.
- I shouldn't even need to say this, because I probably remember - but anyway, don't be greedy. Take what you need and nothing more. The elders always told us not to let our hearts overflow with avarice, remember? The opposite what you think might be true here. Oh, and avoid the middles. They're nonsense. Gems can placate the guardian, but I don't think you'd forget something like that. It's pretty important.
- Armed with this knowledge, they pressed on.
- They found three levers, and avoided the middle gold lever, activating the door to the room beyond. They did not plunder the pile of gold coins in the middle of the room, and took the gems in the chest with them, as they now knew they needed.
- Proceeding carefully, they navigated through a room full of portals. They made their way into an enormous chamber encrusted with crystals. There, they found a giant slug afflicted with a otherworldly affliction, covering every inch of its hide with crystals.
- Combat commenced, and partway through, they realized it was more clever to give it a gem and briefly distract it, so they could proceed without getting more hurt. They did this, and exited the left chamber.
- Proceeding into the right chamber, they found the 'tool' the note described. It was a bow, capable of damaging ghosts. Delicately proceeding further into the chamber, they found it to be tampered with. Several sarcophagi had been opened, and angry shadows emerged from them. The party did battle with them, and were victorious.
- Carefully delving deeper, the four found the guardian golems of the tomb to be destroyed, and the entire area to be torn asunder, in total disarray. Cautiously, they stepped through the portal, and found themselves in the main chamber once again.
- Counting his blessings, Ukurdiel used the powers of the statue to reverse the damage the shadows had afflicted on him. He felt exactly as healthy as he did before the attack.
- Proceeding into the final, now unblocked passage, they found a disturbing sight lurking ahead.
- Glancing up, on a ledge by a window portal, much like was depicted on the megalith outside, they witnessed this scene.
- "Upon first glance, you spot a gaunt, bald, lanky humanoid facing away from you. It is clad in loosely fitting rags, and is holding what must be Mortwin's Coruscating Sceptre in its twisted hand.
- On closer examination, the creature certainly isn't a human, even though it has human proportions. None of its anatomy is right. It appears to be close to how one who has never seen a human might try to represent one based on only a description. Looking closer at its face, you realize with a lurch it has been staring at you with its eyeless face this entire time. It has no features on its head aside
- from an unnaturally wide mouth. It has no tongue, nor does it appear to have any familiar anatomy."
