- Same Article, Two Websites - Hurts SEO?
- I have two blogs and two websites, however, the content from the smaller blog fits into the larger scale blog. If i post the same article from the small blog in the larger blog, which would account for about 5% of the larger blogs content, would it hurt my SEO?

- Thanks in advance for the help.
- I would not do this. Just link from bigger to smaller for that content part? Or if you don't want your visitors to leave bigger one, you could print and upload picture of targeted content. Upload image to bigger one, add the URL to smaller one, into image or above.

- yes it is hurt your seo.
- Yes, this is called duplicate content. It can and will hurt your SEO long term. For me it certainly wouldn't be worth the risk. There is just too much time and effort that goes into SEO in order to jeopardize that over something so easy like that.

- I mean indicating original source and quoting it should be fine... right?
- Yes it's hurt your SEO, Use Unique Contents.
- Please don't do it. If it's such a good piece of content - rewrite it(manually of course).
- Google will take it as duplicate content. Better not do it.

- Hello there, it is harmful for site optimization
- There some facts:
- Negative impact on the promotion of search results. Search robots have a negative attitude to duplicate content and may lower the position in the issuance due to the lack of uniqueness, and consequently, the utility for the client. It makes no sense to read the same on different pages of the site.
- Can replace true-relevant pages. The robot may choose to issue a duplicate page if it considers its content to be more relevant to the request. At the same time, the double, as a rule, indicators of behavioral factors and / or reference mass is lower than that of the page that you purposefully promote. This means that the double will be shown in the worst positions.
- Leads to the loss of natural links. When the user makes a link not to the prototype, but to a double.
- Contributes to the improper distribution of the internal reference weight. Doubles drag over a part of the weight from the pages being pushed, which also impedes promotion in search engines.

- You can do this, but it is not scalable in less you canonical the URL. Large websites such as news sites get away with this within the Google algorithm, but you won’t.
