Maybe it was a bad idea to start contributing to a blog.

Not that I ever regret being part of Drivetribe.com back when its community-contributed blogging arm still lived -- the honest regret, if pressed at gunpoint, lies in not publishing enough to earn disposable income that I can then write off with subsequent articles -- but as I stare down the screen trying to revise my thesis, I can't help but wonder if I learned the wrong lessons. Given that I am studying creative writing, it seems strange, especially when those lessons are one tab away from the text editor I once used. Still, only early in year four did I grasp the magnitude of a parasocial audience and how statistics about page views can skew the perception of reception.
