  1. She went into an alley, looking to hide herself from the pursuiters, and backed herself to a wall Exhausted from fleeing, she slid down until she sat on the ground, making a thud as she slipped a bit. She slowly calmed herself and managed to catch her breath as she examined her surroundings. One one end of the alley was a fence, scaleable in a pinch and on the other was the street. Feeling her tension drop now that she's safe, she took her jacket and tucked it behind her head, so the wall on which she rested doesn't hurt. She knew they will come searching down the street, but this spot was as good as she could get, knowing that every other hiding spot has a dead end, meaning that when she was found she was good as dead. Knowing that, she made herself as comfortable as she can as she will need every bit of energy she can muster. She slowly felt her fatigue take over and drifted off to sleep.
  2.
  3. She woke up hearing some noise. It was a searching party, now helped by an armoured car. What she didn't know was how close they were. She quickly stood up, tense and ready to dash as she saw two men down on the street, one a officer and the other a regular. They noticed her. The regular braced his rifle against his shoulder as the officer signalled the car to come. Instinct took over. She ran, again.
  4. A shot cracked, the bullet whizzed by her and hit a wall, spraying small bits of concrete everywhere at her. She kept running and came up to the fence, hastily climbing up as the man worked the bolt and prepared for the next shot. Another shot cracked. It grazed her thigh, opening up another wound on her. The gutsy girl gritted her teeth and leapt down the fence, running being more important than the pain she felt. The office brought the car up by now. She heard it come and looked behind. It was aiming at her. There was just a few meters of the alley left before a turn. It fired. The deafening wallop of the cannon thundered trough the air. The shockwave disoriented everyone.
  5. But the shot was a miss.
  6.
  7. Trough sheer luck she was able to survive this too but the shot had to go somewhere. It hit the wall at the end of the alley, sending chunks of concrete back towards her, hitting her all over her body. That did not stop her sprint. She turned sharp right into the backalley, safe from the big gun, but not from the men, she knew they will come for her so she had to hide. But the long and unknown backalley had no nook to hide inside. There was only a ladder which she could climb to get to the roof, but she knew she couldn't climb fast enough to escape the men searching for her, she saw a trash can. A small one. Nothing special. So she hid behind it, hoping the idea was stupid enough the two men wouldn't think about it. No matter how stupid it is however, it was the only thing possible to do.
  8. And so they came slowly they walked down the alley, creeping to her the regular passed by her So did the officer.
  9.
  10. She took the moment and grabbed the officer by his shins, pulling him and making him fall face first. It took the regular a moment to register what happened and as he turned towards her she already managed to grab a hold of the pistol the officer had in the holster. He barely managed to turn before a shot echoed.
  11.
  12. She shot
  13.
  14. At this range it was hard to miss the bullet went into the man's throat, the shock made him drop his rifle and stagger he dropped on his knees, holding his neck, trying to hold the blood rushing out. He soon found himself on his back, struggling to live, now choking on the blood coming up to his mouth, it took her a moment to realise what she did She looked at the man His eyes showed terror. He was afraid of death as much as she was. Her stomach turned, but she suppresed it as she had to save herself.
  15.
  16. Escaping death she hid into one of many now abandoned buildings. She leaned against a wall and threw up.
  17. She just killed a man,"He was the enemy, I had to he would have done the same to me, I had to. I must survive, I had to."
  18. She focused on her mission, hoping that would calm her. Pain went trough her thigh as adrenaline let go. She made a few steps and sat by a wall, tending her wound. It gave her time to recollect and calm down.
