  2. Lucky Cat Roadhouse - Loft(#14336RU)
  3.
  4. A simple loft apartment that runs the length and width of the roadhouse below. Its divided up into several sections across the open floorplan: living area, bedroom, kitchen, bathroom, a workshop of sorts, and meditation/exercise.
  5.
  6. The furnishings are both antiquated (circa World War I), and spartan (nothing particularly fancy or lavish), if well cared for and immaculately maintained.
  7.
  8. Contents:
  9. Mr. Fu(#17798)
  10. Obvious Exits:
  11. Fire Escape <FE> Roadhouse <Ro>
  12.
  13. Mo had invited Emrick over to ... well, to hangout, after the conclusion of the last mission. The whole thing had left him more than a little upset and shaken up.
  14.
  15. Emrick heads in and looks around to see how busy it is. He'll head to the bar if Mo is sitting there, or knock on the door if Mo wanted him to come upstairs.
  16.
  17. Mo opens the door, then hands Em a beer. "Hey. Thanks for coming." He then shuts the door behind him and makes his way out towards the fire escape.
  18.
  19. Emrick comes in through the door and then nods to Mo. He was going to say something, or go for a hug but then he's handed a beer and Mo is walking away so he just blinks a bit and follows him "No prob Mo, I'd be over anytime you need me." he says matter of factly.
  20.
  21. Mo has a couple milk crates set out on the fire escape to use as makeshift seats. He takes one, then motions for Emrick to sit. "The zeppelin gonna be ok?"
  22.
  23. Emrick nods "Ya, I can get all the mechanical stuff working no prob. The electrical stuff Grace fixed, and anything else I'll have to see about. The ship did it's own diagnostics though, so that'll be easy to figure out. I can link the ships system to my magical tech network, if you want it unhackable and able to run anywhere, but that also means I'll have unlimited access to it, so that's totally your decision." he nods and pops the cap on his beer.
  24.
  25. Mo nods. He just looks really tired, not his usual animated and excitable self. "What about ... what about the Captain? I mean - not the Captain but the Hollow Captain."
  26.
  27. Emrick frowns a bit and reaches out to hold Mo's hand. "That's up to you. I could have a trusted friend overhaul the system and connect him to my network, so he'd have access to all the internet has at all times, for navigation or bringing up facts and maps, could also build you a suit with a connection to my network if you wanted him to be like your own personal Jarvis." he squeezes his friends fingers lightly "Or, if it's too painful I can delete the program and we can have a small wake or something." he nods slowly
  28.
  29. Mo shakes his head, eyes taking on an almost desperate cast. "NO!" A pause, "I mean, no - no deletions. But maybe we can do a wake. WITH him, I mean. Him and us. He's all I have left, other'n my memories, and he's probably more durable and reliable."
  30.
  31. Emrick looks to his friend and then nods slowly "Ok, if you think that he'd what you to keep the hologram around, if you don't think it's gonna be too painful for you, then I can overhaul his programming and make him as real and connected as possible." he continues to hold Mo's hand. "Is that gonna be too painful though, having his hologram around, but not him?" he looks to Mo
  32.
  33. Mo shakes his head, "The Captain designed that ship. And the Hollow-Gram. It means something. It means he mattered." He knocks back a swallow of beer. "That the things we did mattered. That ship - she's been through a lot. Done a lot of good."
  34.
  35. Emrick sighs "Ok, if that's what you want I'll work on getting his system as good as I can get it." he studies Mo a long moment and then squeezes his hand lightly again before letting go of it finally. He takes a swig of his own beer and then says "I'll have to get the diagnostic, and then let you know what supplies we need and how long I think I'll need to make the repairs. I can go down to the warehouse and do the initial work tomorrow if you'd like."
  36.
  37. Mo smiles, finally, then leans over and gives Emrick a hug. "Thank you. I mean, really. Thank you. This means a lot to me."
  38.
  39. Emrick wraps his arms around Mo and gives him a hug back, holding his friend for as long as he needs. He nods his head and says "Of course Mo, anything you need, you should know that by now.
  40.
  41. Mo nods. "Thanks." He disengages and leans back, finishing the last of his beer. "We need to make sure she's in good enough shape to make the journey to hollow earth. Maybe having a hollow Captain will make it easier somehow."
  42.
  43. Emrick nods "Probably, I'll hook him up to my network so he has access to everything on the internet, he'll know GPS, be able to look up any facts, all that stuff. And nothing will be able to make the network drop, except for like /crazy/ strong magic."
  44.
  45. Mo nods. "Hollow Earth - magic works a little differently there. I've never been, but. Somewhere in the Captain's logs, there's information."
  46.
  47. Emrick Hmmm's for a moment. "Well a technomage built by network so it's on its own independent magic system, should be the best bet for something to stay up in most circumstances." he nods "And I'll make sure to check the mundane systems on the ship too, incase we get a network black out and have to do everything by hand."
  48.
  49. Mo smiles and nods. "I know how to work the manual systems. From back when I was a kid. It was my favorite thing - learning all the ins and outs of the ship." A pause as Mo stands and stretches. "I practically grew up on that airship." A slow steadying breath is taken. "I'm glad you'll get to know her with me."
  50.
  51. Emrick watches him stand and stretch and then nods "Uh, do you want me to head out now? I uh, was gonna offer to stay the night with you." he nods and then adds after a moment "Uh, not in a gay way.." he pauses "..uh cuz you're straight and all that, just like, being here for you." he says with a blush and a little fast, trying to explain.
  52.
  53. Mo laughs. "I'm not straight, nor gay, Emrick." A sigh, "I'm just cursed with interesting luck and a too long lifespan." He moves to head back inside, "You can stay. It'll be fun. I can share some stories. You remind me of him, y'know? The Captain. And not 'cause he was queer. I mean, maybe, but not that, no really."
  54.
  55. Emrick rubs his arm "Oh, uh, are you into both, or no-one, like being asexual?" he asks as he follows him "Uh, if thats not too invasive." he pauses a moment and then adds "In what way then?, uh, do I remind you of him?"
  56.
  57. "You're strong. Smart. And an all around good person. Good at fixing things. I dunno. Lots of ways," says Mo with a grin.
  58.
  59. Emrick blushes a bit at that and then nods "Uh, thanks Mo." he pauses "And I'll drop the attraction questions thing, you don't have to answer that, sorry not here to make you uncomfortable or anything."
  60.
  61. "Oh, I'm not uncomf or anything. But - a guy's gotta be allowed to keep some mystery about him, right? Where's the fun in not getting to know a guy's story?" Mo puts a hand on Emrick's shoulder and gives a squeeze. "C'mon, I'll show you some of the comic books that were inspired by the Captain's adventures."
  62.
  63. Mo goes over to a shelf and pulls out a long box of comic books, knocking off the lid and pulling out a few issues, handing them over towards Emrick.
